Hello guys, before I tell you anything I want you to know that I'm a huge Gran Turismo fan, I got them all from 1 to 6 and I'm very serious about sim racing and racing in real life, I played pretty much every sim and even made it to the GT Academy national finals a couple of times in my country, so please don't get offended by the words I'm saying here because I like Gran Turismo as much as everyone else in this forum but I had to share this with you.

Graphics : I don't know if it's because I've been playing a lot of PC sims lately, but when I started GT6 today I felt like I was back to Playstation 2, apart from the premium cars (and lets be honest the interior of the premiums looks unpleasant and dated) the game doesn't doesn't look good anymore, I don't see any improvement from GT5, neither the tracks or the cars, the standard cars look just as horrible as they did before and the side objects on the tracks shocked me, 2D persons and trees all over the place, it would be better if they just deleted them.

Sounds : This was the aspect I was most curious about GT6, as a car lover there's nothing better than hearing a good engine singing, and this was the biggest disappointing moment for me, as soon as they made me drive the Clio RS right when the game begun I realized that nothing, and I mean NOTHING as been made to improve the sounds, saying that the car sounded like a vaccun cleaner is an understatment, from the Honda Fit to the Shelby GT500 with a big thundering V8 the sounds are just completly horrible, don't get any hopes in this department, it just doesn't get any worse than Gran Turismo when we talk about car sounds. ("How is this possible?" I kept asking)

Cars : I feel like that they could have done so much more than they did, there are some new cars but not that many, they keep teleporting all the old cars from GT4 and IMHO this is a bad ideia, I never liked the standard cars and I never will, I would much rather prefer delete them as I don't drive them and they ruin the overall "nice" look of the game for me, during a race or even in the dealership where they all look completly ridiculous for a 2013 game, also now we have all premium cars from GT5 teleported to GT6 and they look exactly the same as they did before, good but not better. ("Really where is all the work done??!" I keep asking myself as I play)

Gameplay : This is where Gran Turismo was always very good, it teached me a lot of things about car control, I always defended it's physics even when people say "it is arcady", and I think it still is very good but not the best anymore, I can feel some small changes from the GT5 to the GT6 in the car behaviour, cornering feels more natural and you can feel the rubber a little bit better than before but still nothing big was really done.

Final words : I didn't really like that they forced me to buy the Honda Fit right in the beggining, I always like to choose my cars carefully and that annoyed me, but the menu is OK and the game is just much faster than GT5 that took years to do anything.

Overall GT6 was a massive disappointing for me, I didn't felt, saw or heared any improvement over GT5 and I'm really sad about this, I feel like the series itself is ending and I don't know how the future will be since very little was done to improve the last game even when there are thousands of fans screaming all around the world. I really don't understand what has been done in all these years since the GT5 was released, I wouldn't even go as far as call it GT5.5, because I feel like this game is a GT5 with a new menu and not much else.

Please don't get offended by what you read here, I'm just sharing what I feel because as a GT fan I couldn't keep it to myself. Thank you.

1) You really expected GT6 to look better than GT5 on the same console?
2) Not all cars sound like crap. There are several with great sound samples. But we all know PD is working on this.
3) The standard cars might look bad, but they still drive the same as the premium cars, and that is the most important thing in a driving game. And again, expecting the GT5 Premiums to look better in GT6 is asking too much.
4) Nothing big was really done? I'm sure several people would disagree with you. And if you are comparing it to PC sims.....don't. GT has THE best handling physics of any console sim racer.

Thanks for your opinion, I will consider it as I pay off my reservation tonight and anxiously await my turn to play this weekend. :)

PD was just biting into more than they could chew. If anything, the only reason why I am not getting it is because of all the BS restrictions and patches they'll throw in to hamper gameplay. (Example: 1,000,000 Cr. Trade Limit) And why couldn't they just halt it so they could further improve it for PS4? Are they running out of money? Are they trying to copy EA?

Yes I did expect that since GT2 looked a lot better than GT1 and GT4 looked a lot better than GT3 IMO. I mean they are working on the sounds for a decade and still couldn't get them close to reality? There are small studios games that got them almost perfect in a year or two... I recommend you to buy it anyway, I would buy it anyway because I really like the series but I think most of you will agree with me when you play it.

I'm not English and I wrote this in a hurry so don't go hard on my mistakes, I think you can undestand it ;)

Not surprising, looks like they never even bothers to fix the legacy issues that is really plaguing the franchise now. Really sad, this could be the sims to be all sims if they put their efforts in the right place.

HUH?? Games always look better game to game on the same console... See uncharted 1-2 as one, there are tonnes of examples.

Biased review, you simply don't like the game, you gave more negatives about it than positives, You haven't tried even 8% of the cars, you didn't even beat 25% of the Career, you didn't even play Online, what about the huge improvement about the GT Mode and B-Spec and A-Spec combination? you forgot to mention the good things for some reason.

I don't think people should expect too much of GT6, compared to GT5. Looking back, GT2 was basically just an updated GT1. GT4 was just an updated GT3. So yeah, GT6 is going to be an updated GT5. The even-numbered games have always been like that. I bet GT7 is going to be sick!

You can't judge a game just because of its number...

I wonder what this forum will turn into if everybody who got the game start a new "my review" topic.

you know that gt5 pushed the ps3 to it maximum with the premium cars, right?

Of course it will. And sam threads aboutvsome "issues" every 20 minutes, same "my opinions" every 30 minutes.. it will be glorious.

Unless someone has really poor observation. GT6A demo looked much beautiful, autumn ring was nice. The lighting in GT6 is much better and smoke affects, glitches is mostly fixed of what I played in demo, gameplay videos.Gameplay and how car feels was also evident.

You know what mate? I agree with you. But I'm still buying the game, because for as much ugly it can get to be, there's no way it can be worse than Forza 5. And for what concerns PC simulators, they're mostly racing simulators, not driving simulators. I may be in for a lot of disappointments, but GT6 remains the milestone in its field, in spite of all the flaws you are pointing out here. That in my opinion, of course.
