I hate Micheal Shumacher!

just my opion and u may think differently to me which is fair enougth. I think there is more to a great driver then just looking at his statisics. And for me he has had it much easyer in F1 then many others for example his main competertor was Hakkinen do u see his name in the greatest drivers list. Along with Damon Hill and Villeneurve. Look at the people Senna was racing. Prost, Piquet, Mansell, Niki lauda and keke Rosberg All chapionship winners. Apart from Schumacher at the moment who else has a chapionship Villeneurve and look were he is. The class of drivers Schumacher is racing against is a lot easyer then the drivers of the 80s and early 90s. Also schumacher is driving a car with Traction Control, launch Control and automatic gears. Compare with the drivers of the 80s with Turbo cars which on max Boost could push over 1200hp with no traction control to get the driver out of tight spots and manual gears to contend with as well.

Damon Hill could stay with Senna? How many ways are there to spell ordinary ?

The point of the matter is that when MS went to ferrari they were light years behind williams, and probably benetton, yet he still managed to win, score points and challenge for the title. JV cant race competitively unless he is in the "latest and greatest" car, JPM showed this weekend how he lacks the coolness under pressure to be a champ, and how is it MS's fault that nobody can challenge him?

My opinion is that with experience, kimi will be multiple World Champ, whilst JPM becomes his "rival". Only thing is, MS will have retired by then, so comparisons wont be able to be drawn. Nobody will match MS's record (# of titles, gp wins) and that will one day make him one the the greatest ever.

I wonder, of all these people claiming to hate Michael Schumacher, how many have actually met him? Although I have not, I know many people who have, and all confirm that he is actually a nice, polite person who is interesting to talk to.

His wife, who I have seen in person, is attractive, although certainly not of the Connie Montoya/Simone Abdelnour level.

Strikes me that many of you think that his success is reason to hate him. I think that if you were hated for being good at your job, you may feel somewhat aggrieved.

Thankyou  👍

Damon hill could keep up with schumacher what is your point. Ever watched senna in the 1993 season. Honda pulled out and they were left to use crap ford engines. That car was leages behind the williams and was not much better if better then the benotton. watch this clip of senna in the rain in 1993 take 5 cars in half a lap including, schumcaher,Hill and Prost.http://www.f1gallery.ca/f1_movies/1993/donin1.mpg

What? Are you kidding me? That would contradict the millions they invest a year just to drop a few pounds.

M. Schumacher IS a great driver, there's no doupt about that. Weither he is the greatest is of question.

Damon IMO was an ordinary driver at best (particulary in the wet)

Japan 1994. Spa 1998 (a bit of luck, but sometimes that's all you need.) To name but two.

JPM showed this weekend how he lacks the coolness under pressure to be a champ

Although Michelin didn't help. And Michael was going backwards when the Michelin tires were favoured by the American weather.

Michael is a great driver, and I'm sure he's nice to meet, but it's the fact he wins so much recently that is frustrating. Sure, Williams won most of the 90's, but there was a different champion every time. Mansell dominated 1992, but he only dominated an entire year once. When Mclaren was winning in the late 80's, I understand that there was at least some competition within the team, and later from Prost at Ferrari. But Michael hasn't had competition from Barichello because Ferrari won't let that happen. I wouldn't mind Ferrari winning so much if Barrichello and Schumacher were allowed to race; at least to make it interesting, if not actually having Williams win.

1980 world champion Alan jones said last year that the best driver gets the best cars. i couldnt agree more. so what is schuie has the best car on the grid, he earned that car. you dont see people like mazzacane and marques because they arnt up to it.

Since I fell asleep before the race started im supposing you'll are right.
Well, Micheal Shumacher needs to die in a crash. I want it to happen!
Or when GT4 comes out, he gets online with everybody else and lets see his skill.
Montoya needs to stop having problems and start winning more.

WOW ! ... what a thread title  and some of the statements in here are totally ridiculous :irked:

I have debates with my dad who is a NON- Schumacher fan and I hear all the excuses ...." he'll never be as good as the drivers of old " or "his computer drives his car " !.... now i see this thread where suggestions he should die in a car crash  that was a bit OTT dont you think ?

Here's my view on Schumacher ! ... I haved watched F1 for about 14 years now from ... back in the Mansell days v Senna and Prost .... they were great days no doubt 👍 a few years later it was Schumacher v Hill ( now this was the best racing IMO ) the Rivalry between these 2 was awesome and exciting in most races causing in lots of cases 1 or the other crashing out , I'm glad hill won a world title ;) but here's where we go from there . Schumacher has been there for 10 years nearly ! and raced all these guys ! and he is at last ranked as the Number 1 Driver of all time and he deserves it ( the guy is awesome ) he gives 110% commitment to his Driving and stays the front runner year in year out , I hope he carry's on and takes it as close to the 10 championship wins as possible and stick it to his critics :D . F1 would not be the same without the best damn driver in the world and you guys would see that if he did die in a crash  everyone is entitled to there opinions ! ... granted , but ! credit where credit is due i think ! and if anyone is not giving Schumacher the respect he deserves by now then i see them as not liking the sport as much as they think !

well if someone has to die to be respected for the skills they had in life then thats a very black day indeed :(

Dont compare old F1 from the past decades as its not right ! yes the cars where different , but so is my hoover in the house compared to the one my gran used 40 years ago ! but both do the same job ;)

Congrats to Micheal Schumacher 👍 the most successful driver of all time

please stop the silly wish he would die **** thats just sick !

I'm sure there were some sick people wising that Senna would die in a crash, and he did, and now everyone regards it as the blackest weekend in the last 20 years of F1. So don't post stupid comments about having a Schumi death wish. You might as well say that Fangio should have died in a crash because he was sucessful. I find Michael annoying and occisanally wish he'd retire, but I don't want him dead.

Well said Mr P. It's completely impossible to compare the different generations of drivers, as they each have/had to cope with their own pressures. With current F1, everything is so optimised that there's absolutely no room for even the slightest error, and with the telemetry, nowhere to hide. Therefore, it's all a lot moe scientific. In Fangio's day, there was not the production integrity, there wasn't the safety. There was the risk of imminent death. And the driving itself was much more seat-of-the-pants. In short, it was all about the artistry.

There is, I think, a despicable cult surrounding the death of people in general. I remember when the actor River Phoenix died of a drug overdose. A lot of people felt that hit was his best career move. And I'm convinced that a lot of people started revering Ayrton Senna the moment he was killed.

Anyway, please see the new sticky thread that's in all the Motorsport Forums.

GT7058: that sort of comment just shows what sort of peanut you are, a statement like that is completly ridiculous and uncalled for

Mr.P:  👍

the people that hate MS should get up off there @ss's (pardon my speaking) and try and win 6 titles and in one season and win all but 2 or 3 races

CONGRATS SHUMY YOUR THE BEST! :D

Michael Schumacher.....hmmmmmm.......

This is what I can't stand, loads of people saying he is a good driver..... i think thats complete Bulls**t!

He should prove that he is sooooo good by going to a lesser team and see if he can win the championship in their car!, I bet it was the Ferrari car and machanics that won, not his so called 'driving skill!'

This is exactly what he did in 1996.

Memories are so short.

And what he did with Benetton to a sort of degree. Benetton were best of the rest and mixing it on occasion with the big boys when Michael joined. he then went and built them up into a world championship winning team.

too true. he has done it twice now and i reacon he could do it all again at renault (his old team, sort of). they are a team just under the top 3, m.s goes there and he could raise them the championship winning material

I don't like schumacher for a few reasons.

1) He's just getting greedy at the moment, i understand he is doing what he loves, but it's no good if he kills the sport he loves, which is ultimatley what he is doing at the moment.

2) When under pressure he plays dirty, real dirty. Was it '91 when he rammed Damon Hill off the track?

and again he tried in '97, this time on Jack Villenueve (my hero, sadly nothing has gone right for him since '97). This time he got a just dessert, MS himself went off, leaving JV a struggle to the finish (a screwed up air intake, and wasted tyres)

3) And finally when he was punished for the above act in '97, all his points for that season were removed, he started crying like a little girl, do the crime and take the punishment.
