I need to finish s-6, 7 and 10 on spec II and at this point I have given up. I am willing to buy a twelve pack of beer for someone to come over and get me through these races. Anyone in Louisiana?
I got the game last year. Never raced in reality or in any game before being a total newbie to GT 5P. If you are where I was last fall, here are some tips that I recall helped me beat S7 and 10 with Sisaxis. If you just want to beat the game as quickly as possible, you may want to employ some tactics that are not generally accepted as "clean" in racing or feasible in pro physics. Try some of these good and some not so good (in terms of racing ettiquette) tactics that worked for me as a newb.
1) Use standard physics (some around here can win easily in pro, but that may take you a while longer!!!)
2) Catch draft at every opportunity - even on the long straights before the first turn at the very beginning of the race.
3) You can frequently avoid penalties from ramming or bumping if you are turning away from your victim when you trade paint with him or are braking hard - or both. You have to be somewhat agressive.
This tactic helps but I struggle with the fact that I used it - even against the AI - now that I want to learn to race properly..... but that's part of the game, I guess.
4) Get on the gas fully and very early on corner exit and especially hairpins and chicanes. You can do this in std physics. Not realistic, but also part of the game and cuts huge amounts of time off your lap time.
5) Race a muscle car, Ford Spec II or an Amuse or Mines - even with Auto tranny. Others can win but go for the power/top-end speed.
6) Be patient. Try to drive smoothly and follow consistent good lines. The racing line helps with this even though it is not always the best line. I personally now wish I had never used it because, unwittingly, I became enslaved to watching the line and not the track or the other cars. I believe this habit set my development back months, but as a newb, no doubt helped me beat S class.
7) If you're using a controller set your throttle on a trigger or stick. You get more progressive control - although in std physics, that probably doesn't matter that much.
As NoxNoctix Umbra suggested, Spec III is a little easier, but write down or save all your favorite tunes - if you have any - they will all reset to stock after update. Some of them may still work for you in Spec III even though the physics changed in the update.
I also remember finding very valuable info in this forum through searches. This place is loaded with help - a lot better than what I can offer! Look around if you haven't.
Is S6 the F40 one lapper? If so, I can't recall how I did it but I think I settled for bronze.
Don't give up Bro!
Just a few thoughts from a new GT series addict. Hope something here helps you. If so, enjoy the beer after you trophy, but thanks for the offer. Pennsylvania is a little far from Y'all!
