“The 5th episode will have many similar features to the PSP version”

i hope this doesnt mean its going to be all challenge mode stuff like the psp, i was hoping and now praying that it will be the more traditional GT mode where you have the map etc, and go from continent to continent.

what do you guys think?

p.s mods please feel free to lock this if you think its a waste of time.

While it is very disappointing to see it gone from GT:M I can kind of understand why due to the more stop/start nature of a portable title.

The recent comment from PD that GT5 takes modes from GT:M is very worrying, the sole interest in GT for me was taking a street car and tuning it into a track beast.

I dont give a damn about online or what latest super car is or isnt in, to me GT is the classic GT mode, starting off with that old banger and slapping the first round of cheap exhaust bits on.

I accept that GT5:P was mission based but then I accept that as just a taster, if GT5 itslef is nothing but a load of driving 'missions' then its another £40 for my mortgage.

From the list: ■ GT Mode
World Map
My Garage
Car Dealer
Tuning Shop (parts, tires)
Car Washes/Oil Change
Race Championship (Series system, point system)
License Test

KY said that all we read from the list is true.

I reckon GT mode, Nascar and WRC will be like this, a section within a section. So Nascar & WRC could be in GT mode and all would be separate. Also because rally cars can be fitted with tarmac tyres, they can be driven on tarmaced race tracks e.g. Donnington GP circuit.

thanks for that, phew!

GT-Mode, or rather Simulation Mode has been a very big part of the GT series. To see it gone would be to change the entire games' focus. But yet again, it is on a new system, So there are bound to be some changes. But of course, I don't think that taking away GT mode will be so welcome to the veteran GT players. I feel that taking away GT-Mode would be like taking away from the realism of the game.

I will be massively disappointed if GT mode is missing, to make the game better they need to bolt new bits to GT made, not take away the best bit.

What I fear is that the GT mode will be calender based. Meaning you set up days where you race in a certain series. You could have a GT race setup, then you want to go on to do another but realize you have a NASCAR race to do next on that day. That will disappoint me as one of my favorite parts of GT series is the 'do what you want when you want' feel to it.

I cant really see how, in past GT's rallying has always been in its own sub section away from GT mode and a Nascar championship could be run just like any other.
Anyone else think that NASCAR will just be in the same spot with the American events and the WRC in the Special Conditions spot?

That's exactly what I think, just like how Super GT (then-Japanese GT) Championship in GT4 appeared in the Japanese hall.

That would be a true Career Mode, which I'd love to see. But GT would never drop the sandbox style do-whatever-you-want structure it's always had. What they might do is make a Season and Career Mode which are calendar based and more like traditional motorsports, and add that to Arcade and GT Mode. Or make GT Mode the new arcade, with a race event creator like they had in GT2 for quick fix racing. This is actually what I want in GT5.

I just had a thought about this, in the GT mode on the PSP it appears that you basically make a race and it gives you a certain amount of credits. This could be what he means, if you remember in GT4 there was the Family Cup so they may make it something like that just more in depth.

pd havent let me down too much in the past and i have a feeling they wont again i just wish they would bring back the cars/tracks they deleted from the previous games.

New info from latest interview...

"You’ll find that Gran Turismo for PSP is closer to GT5 and it’s a lot different from the history of the GT series that we’ve had over the years. It’s sort of a small revolution going on within the game design and the system."
:scared:

i hope hes not speaking in regards to gt mode :nervous:

I doubt GT mode will go. Kaz isn't that silly. It has been stated in interviews that the design and structure for the PSP version was changed to suit a portable games machine - i.e. shorter gaming stints / pick-up-and-play.

I'm not worries about this. Really, I think some people are worrying needlessly.
