Not really a fan of the shape, but the wood looks incredible. I don't know if I like wood that pale, but for a pale wood the top looks to be of some damn fine quality. I do like the body/neck a lot, though. What wood were used anyway?

And are those frets silver or something? They're the most shiny frets I've ever seen.

I actually thought it would be a little darker also. I'm saving my judgments until I see it in person.

The body is ash (see the back) and the top is maple burl.
Pickups - Maple Burl
Control Knobs - Pao Furro (rose wood)
Neck (back) - Five Piece laminate, Purple heart and Maple
Finger Board - Pao Furro (rose wood) with Maple Burl block inlays.

Frets are standard material but yes...they look really shiny.

Just got an update that it will be here tomorrow. He sent it 2 day air. Now comes the hardest 24 hours yet.

After playing the bass for a couple days, I can say this thing kills.

The bass with it's electronics gives me tonal options for days. The action came too low for me. I told Pete I wanted as low as he can get it without it buzzing. I had no idea a bass could get that low..... WOW.

I also put in on the scale and it weights exactly 8.0 lbs. Over all, I am very excited about this bass. Learning the electronics will be the hardest thing to get used to but I'm already getting comfortable with it.

The balance is perfect. No neck dive, nothing. I don't find myself readjusting the bass. It just sits and stays. I was also surprised at how small the body really is. It's much smaller in person that what I thought it would be from the pictures, which is a good thing.

Dang Pako that is incredible!!! It is one of a kind for sure. The attention to detail is beyond amazing. Congratulations!!!! Your pictures are very good too like a professional photographer. :dopey: :dopey: 👍

I'll post some pics of live shots for sure...

I'm still blown away everytime I get it out of the case.

:D

Tsk, tsk. You were told to:

Shame on you. :P

Seriously, though, it is badass. Any chance you could put up two songs in the Sound Bytes section to hear the difference in the old and new? :D

Honestly, I'm too afraid to hang it on the wall.... It might fall. :nervous:

I'll try to post some clips when I have time.

I wish I could noodle that well!

Man, that bass sounds and looks amazing! You have me drooling madly over here!

That sounds ridiculous, Pako! You have yourself a nice new ride, there.

And for the record, it completely pissed off the sub on my laptop.

Hope I didn't hurt anything. :D Part of my disclaimer should be, "not responsible for ripping of speakers".

After I got done with the tone demo, it occurred that I hadn't even touched the passive mode. So take those four pickup positions and add four more tone variations to it. Then I can add an infinite number of blended combinations between the Low, Mid, and High EQ, as well as variations of the tone control knob.

It's a bit overwhelming.....

Not yet, hoping to get into the studio soon. We have maybe 18 more tunes since the Garden CD. Might have to find a different band to record with so I can get some serious Skjold time in there.. :D

Great sound! The low b sounds really low and a bit 'fartty' which is a good thing!

Glad to hear it plays as well as it looks and sounds! 👍

Congrats!

Thanks Solid! I'm still getting used to the preamp, but it's working out alright. :)

Well, I promised I would record some tracks of the new bass, so here it is. Please excuse my hack job. When ever I pickup this bass the words "I'm not worthy" come to mind.

Ok, enough of my disclaimer, listen if you dare.:nervous:

MP3: 320kbs, 44100Hz, Length: 5 min 34 sec 12.7mb

Thanks for sharing that Pako. I like the part when you start getting into it about 1:58 seconds. Your right the tone variations are amazing! Dont forget to keep sending us lots of great pics.
