I need a new car. No more than 20K USD, if even that.

I have a hard time believing AWDrifter. Sorry, but who would be dumb enough to spend thousands of dollars on a GTR and import it to the US and destroy it drifting? People that dumb generally dont make a lot of money (the kind it would take to do such a thing). And people with that kind of money generally have digital cameras.

Please explain your logic on this, drifting destroys my car? hmmm.... u sure about that? Dun recall replacing anything but the tires and the transmisson (and the transmission only because I had 3 gears replaced when I first got it, and the opened it and said it was aready ****). Matter o fact, I havent had any major problems at all since I started drifting.....

I6-4-eva, sry, I have pics, but none that are online (that I know of atleast)

What the crap AWDrifter, I just looked at your website and your info, and youre nothing more than a 16 yearold that wishes he drove expensive cars. To quote your inane website 'Ahhh why does school suck so freakin much.... AND WHY DONT I HAVE A DAMN CAR YET! grrrr.... ::sigh:: oh well.... Might help if I had my DAMN PERMIT by now.... but NOOOOOOO someone wont take the time to take me to the DMV.... Dod Gamit..." Yeah, grow up kid, and quit being a dumb poser. Oh, and i cant forget the "Hahaha that was fun! lmao I drifted the RAV-4 around a parking lot today." Nice one....poser

Hey, guys, don't turn my thread into a flame war!

Anyway, I saw one of those new elantra 5 doors today. I looked at, it's pretty nice, very much like an older Saab, actually. Is it available RWD or AWD, though? Loke I said, I just can't get accustomed to FWD driving.

Hell, I try to help someone, and all I get is BS, you know what? Im not even going to care to clean this up. Sorry tak, I guess it was my falut for the big flame war. But Shob, doesent it seem funny, As I am 29, My name is James, and I have a son named sam? And my wife is also the owner of a 97' RAV-4? funny aint it...... Now I dont give a damn what any of u say, so shut it.

Yes those new Elantras are VERY nice, didnt know the came AWD though......

Yes. U know those videos about safe sex n all when U saw in school? I was one of those "Dont be like Jimmy, and have sex before your married" guys.... Now do u have a problem with that? Or do you wnat me to reveal my enitre personal life?

No. I could really care less.

You wouldn't believe how many kids come on here claiming they own skylines (or other expensive sports cars) and you don't sound any different from them. You may very well have a Skyline and if you do, good for you. I just don't believe it.

So...let me get this straight, You are 29, your son is 16...but in your profile it says youre 19...face it, youre a fake, get over it.

Takumi, if you want a car that could be good for drifting for not much money, go buy a used 180sx. Turn it into a sil80 or something if thats what you really wanna do. Or go buy a 1986 corolla gts like your name suggests.

Sorry, he must have changed it. It used to be the same birthday as his website says, just 1984 instead of 1986. Im sorry, but these inconsistencies clearly show that he does not have the kind of money he claims, and he is really just a 15 yearold wishing he had a GTR....not that I blame him, I wish I had a GTR too....

Keiichi Tsuchiya, the Dorikin, or Drift King.

Drifting had been gaining popularity as an underground sport since the 1950s. But hardly anyone knew about it in the general population.

Then, in the mid 1970s, a young Japanese stock car racer, with hair like Elvis, named Keiichi Tsuchiya, was running dead last in a race. Instead of conceding quietly, however, he looked back to his years on the mountian passes around his hometown, and started drifting around all the corners. After a few moments of stunned silence, the crowd went wild. After the race, journalists asked Tsuchiya what he had been doing. He replied, "drifting".

Since then, the sport has grown in popularity. Tsuchiya has driven in Le Mans, JGTC, and even US NASCAR,. In one NASCAR event, he actually drifted! He is now in his mid 50s, but is still recognized as the best drift driver there is.

From tehn on, the sport has gained popularity

So he decided to mess around because he couldn't keep up with the pack? That's unprofessional, dangerous and -- yeah -- laughable.

Well think about this, you know how hard it is to adjust to track racing after youve spent your whole life drifiting in the mountains?
And no, its not unprofessional, as it takes almost more concentration and skill than an INDY car driver to drift. And about dangerous, hahaha, THATS laughable, The Drift King? dangerous drifting? dont go in the same sentance.... He takes drifitng to a new level of control......

I strongly agree with ShobThaBob. Cept id add the 240SX into that is all. ::wants to sell my RSX to get one....:: it sucks when u want to learn to drift and u drive a FF.....

Sorry, but drifting is dumb and should not be attempted on open streets. I think its a joke, and a great way to get yourself killed. Enough teenagers have problems accelerating in straight lines, much less going sideways. And sorry, but drifting is not the ultimate way to race, and it is very dangerous, no matter how good you are, thats life.

Damn, drift haters everywhere

Most of you should be ashamed of yourselfs! You constantly make fun of drifting for what? Just to laugh at kids or adults that want to practice a style of driving? Im disgusted at this and disturbed.....what a crapload of rotten people....

Also you assume that these kids and adults will go into the streets. I bet MOST of them will know its dangerous to drift on streets and its only safe to do it on circuits.

YEAH! what he said! Serioulsy, I dont mean to start a giant flame war or anything, but what IS everyones problem with drifitng?

Seriously, just beacuse you dont believe/and or like drifitng, doesent mean it automatically sucks. Drifting takes skill, just like a NASCAR driver needs stamina to go all 500+ laps. Its a form of drving, and a cult in japan :D so why bash on it?

Its a cult in japan...and youre in florida, where there are no 'mountain passes' to grow up on. Drifting takes skill...yup...so does nascar...i hate both.

Well I guess theres no hope for you then, all I can say is good luck with whatever u DO like, if anything  But one day you might have to accept this as an offical racing style, as drifitng is catching on pretty quick here in the states now ;)

Its not an official race style. There are drifting 'events', but 'official' racing has leagues where people pay millions of dollars to get cars to win, which involves going around a track as fast as possible. Drifting....is not the fastest, otherwise everyone would do it. Rallying, GT, and F1 = fun.

Well, you are partically wrong on that. There is an offical race league in Japan for drifting, called the D1 Grand Prix, that has started hosting a lot of its races here in the USA. Normally all its races are held on the west coast and Japan, but u see some in other places every once and a while (Hawaii, Miami, etc.)

Obviously you dont know much about him. During his early racing career with his sponserd Advan AE86 on many downhill corners he would drift the car and carry a better corner speed than his competitors. He wasnt messing around he knows what he is doing. It's pretty damn amazing how he does it and i've seen/have plenty of videos of him catching up to his competitors with him going sideways.

For everyone who thinks drifting 'sucks" you need to experience it before you say it sucks. thta's like a couple guys i know at work who say drag racing sucks "dude youre just going in a straight line" "no skill required" "just smash the pedal" and of course they've never gone down the 1/4

www.drifting.com <-- all drift all the time

This thread has gone way off topic and probably will continue. It needs to be closed. Sorry takumi lol but it's a pointless pissing contest now.

Ill say it again, if drifting was the fastest way around corners, everyone would do it, and this drift king would win. Period. If he doesnt win, then obviously, its not the fastest is it?
