As it happens I still finished ahead of the car I hit because I overtook him cleanly later in the race... but from his point of view I can see he might have thought that A, it was intentional, and B that I didn't get penalised for it.

On point B, since the last patch you can see if the other driver gets penalized...in SR for sure but I'm not certain if it shows time penalty as well? I've not had much opportunity to see it myself.

Well I know I'm not the best driver out there, but more than capable, keeping my crashes and off track driving to a minimum, but we can all have accidents... And I know contact = sr pens, and I don't mind that, what I DO mind is that very often I get blown off track, or someone tries to nudge me and they end up spinning around, and then the 10 sec pen kicks in... FOR me, not them, I really don't understand that :-)

We ALL mind these things, but they are a part of the game that we have to deal with. In the aggregate if you practice clean driving you will advance up the ratings despite these issues.

Which is better than real life actually. If someone plows into you in a real race you're out... DNF... and that is it. No matter whose fault it is.
