sadly no :( I do not own one...however I do make it my business to learn everything I can about them...Vince a.k.a RazorGTR even sent me a manual for the R33 and R34 :D

I live In the US and skylines are rather expensive here....however I do plan to buy one as soon as I get out of pharmacy school....see the school I'm going to cost about 100,000 USD including books, tuition, fees etc. so It was either skyline or my education....I chose the education because in the end I can still get the skyline....When I sign on I will get about 25,000 dollar bonus just for signing a 2 yr contract and make about 100,000 salary a year..most of the 25K will go towards my Skyline..... Plus I will get bonuses depending on sales and anytime I work over 8 hours a day I get paid double my normal pay...and ususally there are 2 or more pharmacists on duty depending on the location and you alternate between working 3 and 4 days per week....

So as you can see I am well on my way to buying my Skyline :D

However I have had the rare oportunity to actually drive a skyline....Nissan had a skyline over at their shop and my neighbor was able to bring it over :D

unfortunatley it was not a GTR....It was only a GTT..I'll post pics of it...

anyway despite not being a GTR I liked it alot..the acceleration was pretty crisp and so was the handling....However this was my first time in a right hand drive car and It was kinda weird because the signals and windshield wipers were on the "wrong side" and I wasn't used to shifting with my left hand....despite that I was still able to drive pretty well and launch at 6000 RPM...It was very fun but I didn't have anywhere to really see how the car handled under harsh conditons.... but I did floor the accelerator at a couple of lights....It wasn't as fast as I actually expected it to be but still faster than most cars....and It wasn't a GTR so I didn't really care....another thing was that I always thought I was speeding since the speedometer is in Kmh not mph....oh well :D

hopefully soon I will be able to get into a actual GTR but untill then I had fun driving the GTT....

oh right i was just wondering because the one i raced wasn't really to hot in a straight line but round the bends it was going like stink, i seriously had no chance against it but luckily the road opened up. i once heard that the breaks on either the R32 or R33 model could just explode without warning, do you think this is true?

Iv'e never heard of anything like that happening but I'll look into it.....I'm trying to think of what would make brakes explode....however is such a thing was true don't you think Nissan would have had a recall?

The skyline was built for the track not a straight line....It was also built to compete in Group A racing but it got kicked out because it was considered too good.....thats why it was catching up in the corners....however some skylines can go quite fast...I know HKS's skyline ran 7's....and Veilside has a 1360 HP street legal GTR....I know that the skyline has a limiter installed and can't go over a certain speed.....what speeds were you racing at?

BMWPower the reason I said this
"Ok now you saying he has a dump valve or do you mean blow off valve/pop off valve/pressure releive valve? A dump valve from how I have heard it called is an external waste gate. That would mean after market turbo(s). So if he had aftermarket turbos big enough to require an external waste gate that would put his power over 500hp easy."
The factory turbos on a GTR will flow 450-475hp given proper tuning and other enhancements. It would be a huge waste of time and money to put smaller turbos that require an external wastegate on is all.

Congrats on the kill let's leave it at that :)

do you know anything about the faulty brake thing discussed above?

from what i heard, the r33 shares the same brakes as the r34. judging by ur statement it would seem that if it was a problem it would be restricted to the r32. i don't really know anything else, cept that i haven't heard of brake discs exploding (unless they are the hyper-cheapo ones).

I've never heard of the brakes on a turbo skyline exploding. To give you an idea on who big they actually are for the car. The front rotors are 310mm X 35mm (12.2 x 1.377 in). They are 4pot factory fronts and twin pots rears.

That's a point... Official imports - and there are around 100 a year - to the UK have a 112mph limiter on them. Whereas the Cerbera will stretch it's legs to 186+ mph. It's 0-60 is sub 4, compared to the stock R34 GT-R's 4.7 and I think it'll pull harder right through to that top speed.

Still, I hope his repairs weren't too pricey...

it looked like he was doing more than a 112mph at one point so perhaps the limiter was removed?
i to hope his repair bills aren't going to be to high because it wasn't a serious race or anything, just a little bit of fun i would never of wanted that to happen anyone especially if he needs a new engine :(

i don't think u should be worried, i still think it was a misfiring system + dump valve. unless the smoke was constantly billowing out of the back

Most of the importers 'brainwash' the cars to take the limiter off.

Also, the official UK cars were not restricted. You can tell the UK cars because they have an extra oil cooler for running at more continual high speeds, such as German autobahns.

Congrats BMW Power. RazorGTR: don't feel too bad. Few people truly understand how much of an animal the Cerbera is. Perhaps you should dig out your copy of the original GT, and run the Cerbera LM. Fastest car in the game, by some way.

Except the Cerbera LM :P ( of course not around the test track )

Japanese cars are limited via ECU to 112mph.

That 700bhp Evo 7 is the NorrisDesigns demo car - it actually has about 800bhp, no nitrous.

Nice kill.
