I don't know if this is the right forum, but I want to learn about motorcycles. I want to learn the makes/models. I wan't to learn how the engine works in relationship to a car engine, I want to learn all that I can about them. Does anyone have any resources that I could look at?

I never said I want one. Let alone want to ride one of those crotch rockets! I just want to learn about them. They fascinate me.

yea, theyre pretty cool. what do you want to know?

um, lets see, this is what i know.

most motorcycles have either an inline 4 motor, or a v-twin. most crotchrockets have those highrevving 4s. ducatis and the honda RC51 are powered by a v-twin. the 4s can rev over 15000rpm (i think?). v-twins are usually stay around 10k. the v-twins have a more useful torque curve, while the 4s are just screamers.

um, maybe ill add more later.

I would personally love to get into riding, but i dont have the cash or time right now. I would absolutely love a suzuki sv650.

Alright, you've got your average push-bike.

Take the pedals out and replace it with an engine. There's your motorcycle drivetrain.

The Kawasaki ZX-2R, four cylinder 16 valves 250cc can rev to like 18000rpm. A lot of those over here. Sounds like F1.

Thanx for some info! Actually, I would rather ride a big chopper (like one from Jesse James, or maybe a customized Harley.) than one of those little sport bikes.
