Man I was just sitting here thinking of how sweet it would be to be super rich. Being able to literally buy anything my heart desires. Best possible life. Post things that you would buy if you were super rich. Show us vids or just explain why something would be just amazing to do if you had the money.

For me I would live in Monaco and just drive one of my fancy sports cars around. This vid is like my perfect life. At 5:10 is possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

I would Re-create the Trail Mountain circuit from GT5 down to the Sea monster!
I would fly Kaz first class to sign the finish line.

5:10. That is beautiful. I'd show up in something more unassuming though.

I know a multi-millionaire in african mineral (erm...diamond) rights, oil, and the arms trade. What does he drive?

Well, he has a Bentley too but you get the picture. Money can make you secure, but not happy.

The sad truth is that you adjust to whatever level of wealth you have...it stops being exciting after a while, because you get used to it. If you don't have the right people in your life, you'll never be happy.

Lol this is not the true wealth thread this is the I wish I was rich thread.

Truth, not even a materialistic person would be.

I personally would be because I like to make things, draw, paint, build, craft and all that requires a great deal of money. So what I would buy would be endless amount of art supplies and tools, building material, power tools like laser cutters, table saws, welding kits, and so on.

Secondary to that would be pets.... preferably birds in a large aviary that can sustain itself with a pond, small river, soil and grass, worms and skylights.

Next would probably be home reno; which will definitely sport a recreational room with a ping pong table, pool table, a driving game cockpit, and a large open wall for me to throw knives at. There will also be an expandable gallery for me to show off my artwork/pieces.

After that would be hobby stuff, like a Drum kit, a longboard, a giant tablet, more computer stuff, audiophile headphones, figurines, etc.

Then, and only then I'd start picking up cars of all sorts like a Mini, an Exige, an Impreza, and an Aston or something.

I'll disagree.

In any case, you wouldn't catch me buying super cars or a mansion. I would however travel a lot at first then settle down into a small-ish house with a couple cars, then invest the rest and live off it.

I thought of another one. I would have a huge mansion like 50cent with 5 kitchens and each one will have its own specialty chef. So depending on what I feel like eating will decide which kitchen I will dine at that evening. As a bonus the chefs will all be playboy bunnies.

All that money might not make me happy, but I would no longer care about the water bill, electricity bill, phone bill etc.

I would buy 3 cars. All the real ones, not re-makes.
Ford Falcon GT HO
Ford GT40
Shelby Cobra

Become an investor and make more money. Start a business to make more money. Buy a Minivan for family use then a weekend car(NSX) for fun. I will not spoil my kids and treat them like how I was treated or else they'll turn out to be spoiled kids like Paris Hilton. No private island, no private jet, no mansion, just a house in a decent neighborhood.

If I was "super rich" I would move my wife and I to Canada (via the canadian investment class), buy us a nice house with a balcony, an office for her and a studio for me, which I would fill with nice amps, guitars and recording equipment.

Might not sound too crazy, but that is what I'd do.

That's right guys. These things are so damn hard to find now. Not an Aston Martin or a Ferrari first, but a Toyota Camry. 👍

Then a 2nd generation Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

Then I'll move on to those supercars. :)

If I was super rich I would buy a soccer jersey of every current team in the world (national countries that is) and all the MLS teams.oh yes and all the current flags of the world, thats all I need to be happy.

The things that I would like to do now requires money, but I do not have money and that makes me unhappy.

If I had money, I'd be able to do the things that I would like to do and in turn be happy.

So, money will definitely make me happy.

Sure I wished I was super rich. Just managing the business. I'd open a tuning company and make awesome cars. I'm a perfectionist so you can bet they will be awesome. But I'm afraid that the dream will just fade away as I grow up and by the time I get enough money to do so, I'd have other priorities to get to. :(

I would also buy penthouses, mansions, private helicopters, a bunch of Rolls Royces, exotic supercars, armed bodyguards, illegal firearms, hitting clubs, banging chicks, living the whole Grand Theft Auto dream. 👍 :dopey:

Oh, and a Gulfstream G650, or G6 as they call it. :D

I'd go for a cabin in the hills, about a hundred square miles of virgin forest and farmland, a diesel Suzuki Jimny and a trailer for mountain bikes and diesel motorbikes.

All that money? Going towards a biodiesel refinery and solar panels. Self-sufficiency > wealth anytime.

Sure it would be nice to be super rich, but I don't think it's necessary. For me and my future career path, being super rich would merely be a practical advantage. My career is music, and with the best paid musicians in the world (outside of the Metropolitan Opera), LA studio musicians, still not guaranteed a study paycheck since they're paid on a per-gig basis, it would be very nice to have the peace of mind that if I don't get gigs, I'd still be ok financially.

Being super rich would also give me the ability to buy all of my dream musical instruments, of which there are many (to have an idea of just how many, check out this post of mine on the Trombone Forum...and that's not even all of them). As is, being a college student, I usually have to either save up for years or find an incredibly awesome deal to get even one horn.

My super-rich life would require nothing more than a nice penthouse suite in a very favorable location within LA (or wherever my musical travels take me), a car to carry my horns around in (already have that), a dirt cheap reliable sports car for fun, the best gaming PC money can buy (updated as technology progresses because, well, I'm super rich), the best HDTV money can buy (see above), all the latest consoles, maybe a racing cockpit, furnishings, and food/water/electric/Internet/phone/TV/etc. costs. I'd still have plenty of money left over to invest and live off of, so at that point I could take gigs just for fun, and any pay would just be a bonus that I could spend on things I wanted.

Now if I was super ultra mega ridiculous rich, then I would build my own country in the Pacific Ocean...but even that is unrealistic for what most of us consider to be "super rich".

Bye guys, I'm going to live in the Spanish mountains.

This will be my transportation. :dopey:

I would:
  • Buy the property and the house where my dad's friend used to live. It was a nice house (1 bedroom though) with a rather large yard. The times I spent there were the happiest of my life. Running around in the yard. Playing with his German Shepherd. Playing GT2 when it was new. I value nostalgia
  • Purchase a new Dodge Dart
    01-2013-dodge-dart628.jpg
  • Paint all the rooms in that house I mentioned blue. Or have this on the walls in the living room:
    Blue_Wallpapper_huyhai.com_abstract-2.jpg
  • Have a nice tv, and a nice stereo system too.
Like this. But with a blue painted room. And normal curtains, and less pillows on a couch. More simple:
    sound-system.jpg
  • If I was rich, I would want to just live a normal life, and share my wealth with others in my family. I would also live on my wealth. Or become General Manager of a hockey team like the London Knights or Windsor Spitfires, probably the Spits.

When compared to others, I have never really had much new stuff. So living with just a few new things would just be normal.

EDIT 2:

I would consider buying an island. I also thought of just having 1 rule:
There are NO rules. (Except for this one :P)
Then I watched the movie "The Last Resort". Then thought how what happened in the movie would end up happening on my island. Then I would face some problems with the UN

EDIT 3:

If I was super rich, I would focus on making everyone else more well off, because I wouldn't want the money to change me.

Crazy? Probably. But I would like to others. Give them money so they can pay their rent and their kids can have a good, worry-free life.

I heard a while back on the TV that the majority of British national lottery winners actually wished they had never won at all. The money had just ruined their lives.

That's because your typical lottery winner is a compulsive gambler. They don't know how to make money, they don't know how to take care of money, and they don't know how to make whatever money they win grow. You win a few million dollars, you can live comfortably off the interest accrued through investments for the rest of your life, if you're smart.

If you were smart, though, you wouldn't be compulsively gambling on the lottery in the first place.

----

Seriously, though... it would get pretty boring if you were super rich and didn't do anything but live off your wealth.

I've already mapped out possible things to accomplish with the money if I were to come into a large sum of money.

For one, it would be nice to have an automotive body shop, dedicated to experimental vehicles. One that can be expanded, eventually into a full-on car company, if even a boutique one... creating specialty vehicles.

For another, I've always wanted my own racetrack. Built as part of a commercial complex, using the complex to generate enough income to pay for its upkeep. Hey, build the track portion under a foundation, as a non-profit testing facility for automobiles and fuel economy.

I'd attach a technical institute to that. I've always wanted my own engineering school. Beyond that, I would invest in farming, also, and aquaculture.

All of that should keep me busy enough to be happy. Idleness is simply boring.

On the simple side, a nice house on a lake in Central Ontario, preferably with a southern exposure - there would be a games room with a GT5 setup including a racing seat that I wouldn't have to put away when I was finished playing. I might even be tempted to throw an observatory dome on the roof with a decent size telescope.

For the winters, I want a place in the sun, like this....

catamaran.jpg

And for exercise...this looks like it would hit the spot....

One can also invest their money into stocks like Apple or Google. Or if one is paranoid about the tech bubble, there is always the oil industry.

I'd buy a sports team if I had billions, and maybe an expensive car or two.

I've never actually thought of that. :dunce:

You must be a genius. :embarrassed: :sly: 👍

I'd live like a normal human being - buy healthy food, a decent XC bike, build eco-friendly house (wouldn't drive a hybrid though). After that, I'd start a company of my own connected to my hobbies, not necessarily to get huge profits, but to live happily and not get bored.

If I bought some supercars (250 GTO, Miura, or whatever), I'd surely invite children from various charity foundations, especially blind kids so that they could touch those machines as much as they want, I'd also fool around and take them for a ride. No idea why have I fought of that, but the idea seems great.

So many things come to mind.

I know I would spend 3-4 months of the year traveling. Seeing other cultures is a real eye opener, especially those much less fortunate.

I would start some sort of automotive business. Maybe an auto broker for high end cars. Have a shop on site and maybe a small test track.

Finally, I would enter a vehicle in the Dakar Rally every year, as well as race a dirt bike in the Baja 1000.
