I wish I was super rich

I would start my own racing team from the ground up, once i've finished my engineering degree of course. The most important aspect in this industry is experience or more precisely, the knowledge gained from experience. If I had the money i'd just set up my own team (Not as high up as F1, somewhere lower down where i'd be able to be the driver aswell :P) instead of having to apply to loads of places and work my way up.

I know this can be done without large amounts of cash, but to get anywhere it really does help.

I would build my own racetrack(s) and have a hangar full of cars.

I think it would be great fun, for when I was not travelling around the whole world, relaxing and taking photos.

I'd buy a small country, build a massive army and invade and take over neighbouring countries until I'd taken over the whole continent. And then I'd move onto the next one. Pretty soon I'd be king of the world.

For me I would live in Monaco and just drive one of my fancy sports cars around. This vid is like my perfect life. At 5:10 is possibly the most beautiful thing I have

Going to Monaco on holiday this Summer, for the purpose of carspotting only..

I'd buy myself a lifetime and permenant membership at the Ascari Race Resort. Keep my fleet of super/hyper/exotic cars there in a special garage. My home would be an hour drive away in Marbella and I'd have a Wally Power 118 parked in the docks in Puerto Banus. And then I woke up..... :grumpy:

I'd form an alliance with you.*

*Then eventually betray you and attempt to steal whatever the hell you had.

Did I say that out loud? Whoops.

Man I was just sitting here thinking of how sweet it would be to be super rich. Being able to literally buy anything my heart desires. Best possible life. Post things that you would buy if you were super rich. Show us vids or just explain why something would be just amazing to do if you had the money.

Private Jet = Screw the TSA (this, by the way, is why our politicians don't mind inflicting the TSA on us)

I've covered this in other threads but I'd want to found a country by purchasing a large island somewhere. I'd create the government with an endowment so that it could function without taxes. I'd draft a constitution and focus the entire government around upholding the rights enumerated in that constitution. With the endowment I'd fund a few basic public works like some roads, military, police, courts etc..

Short of that kind of money I'd create a foundation in America for teaching and promoting understanding of economics. I'm guessing a few billion dollars to get that rolling. I would not buy a lambo.

Let's see. If I had 1 million in savings, I'd probably invest quite a lot and wait until I can sell them for a healthy profit, or recieve dividends. I'd keep investing until I have ammassed a fortune. Hopefully then I could fund research for an alternative fuel for internal combustion engines (Hydrogen etc) in an attempt to make it viable. Then pitch my idea to aircraft companies, start building said alternative fuel jet engines, get contract, work in partnership with aircraft company. At which point my company can start working on making this fuel viable for cars. When we succeed, build a small light car with not much power but good handling, and make it affordable.

In an ideal world, of course.

I would consider buying an island. I also thought of just having 1 rule:
There are NO rules. (Except for this one :P)
Then I watched the movie "The Last Resort". Then thought how what happened in the movie would end up happening on my island. Then I would face some problems with the UN

That's right guys. These things are so damn hard to find now. Not an Aston Martin or a Ferrari first, but a Toyota Camry. 👍

Then a 2nd generation Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

Then I'll move on to those supercars. :)

OMG: I was going to post my desire to have back my first car, a gen 3 camry such as the one seen here.
My current car is an Imprez so I'm good on that front.

If i was super rich...

I'd build many karting tracks, some of my own design and some replicas of existing great tracks, and be the chairman of my own karting club with different leagues. When not used in competition, the tracks will be accessible on an arrive & drive basis, using my own batch of twin-engined racing karts!

Man, i really want to get into karting...

I want my own island too. I actually saw one on sale for cheap like $50,000 a few years ago and wanted to buy it just for lulz.

Also how would a government not have to collect taxes? I have thought about this before and do not see how they would be able to buy and build things without having a large cash backup ie from taxes.

There are two ways that spring to mind. The easiest is to start a government with an endowment and run the government off of interest on the endowment (T-bills, that sort of thing). You'd want to have many billions of dollars to do this. Might be able to get away with 500 billion and function off of a 3% interest on that (so 15 billion dollars per year in government revenue).

...could maaaaybbeee pull it off with a $100B endowment (operating on $3B per year). For a small island that could possibly do everything you need. But it's tight because your military has to be world class regardless of the size of your country.

...nope, scratch that. If you spent 100% of your $3B on military you'd probably have trouble fending off an invasion from the Mexican military.

Let's go with $500B as the necessary endowment.

$3B is more than enough.
Buy 500 Veyrons.
Spend $1B on weapons and attach to said Veyrons (.50 cal and SAMs come to mind).

$1.5B left in reserves.

Before anything, I'd have to buy a decent house with a massive garage to hold at least 20 cars - for my Aston Martin collection :D. I'd build a race track after that too, to drive the car I want around a track whenever I want to. Also, a pool in the back garden is a must :dopey:
Afterwards, I'd probably invest or whatever into powerful companies like Google, hopefully increasing the money I had. And with that money, I'll buy a house in Switzerland, and a decent pair of skii boots and skiis, for the winter season. :D

I would become majority shareholder of Arsenal Football Club, buy a Lamborghini Aventador, own a sportshall and whatever else comes to mind. I would also give some to charity.

I'd buy a moon condo solely for the purpose of when people ask me what I'm doing for my vacation. I would respond I'm going to my condo and they would ask where. Than I would look up at the sky and say the moon.

I'd have a Veyron SS as my daily driver, in Michigan. I think being super-rich would make that doable...

Now if I was god-like rich, I would start doing really crazy ****. Such as having a pair of new and improved Concord's built and turned into private jets. Or buying a Typhoon nuclear submarine.

I'll buy a cheap house on the corner, a decent car, keep food on the table and quit my job and live quietly.

I'd buy myself a small country home in Iceland far away from people, have enough space. And I would get a Land Rover Defender 110. I'd be pretty much set for a few years. I wouldn't spend millions of dollars, that's not my cup of tea.

I would buy a tank and a bunch of **** cars. Than just drive as I can over them and set up a obstacle course to just smash through.

If I bought some supercars (250 GTO, Miura, or whatever), I'd surely invite children from various charity foundations, especially blind kids so that they could touch those machines as much as they want, I'd also fool around and take them for a ride. No idea why have I fought of that, but the idea seems great.

That's a lovely idea actually. To let sick children who most likely never see these cars get up close and personal with them. 👍

I'd buy the house I was born in in Cuba, make a 5 car garage and fill it with about 300K worth of cars I like, I'd also have a house in wherever I live most of the time and a beach property. Apart from that, yearly trips to the ring in the summer and another yearly trip to the destination of choice. That's about it, if there's anythig left over it goes to my family and to better the countries I live in.

I'd live in Oregon or somewhere in the North West, very beautiful up there, but other than that all I can think of is well..........cars.
  • Good Nissans
  • Bad Nissans
  • Prototype Nissans
  • Any and all Nismo models
  • A Dome Zero
  • EVERY NSX model
  • If it was a group B car I'd own it
  • All Racing replica Bikes
I really need to get my head out of Japan.....
