IC-9 License Gold | Help for Gold Required

Ok first of all I have the PAL version which asks me to get a time of 20:150 which is near impossible. Even the demo can't get gold. as they seem to get 20:200. So has anyone ever got this gold without cheating. It honestly seems very very hard or impossible.

I used to have times of 20:550 which became 20:450 and now become 20:350. But honestly I don't think I can chip anymore time off that. This test is totally freaking me out so any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
I'm working on the I-C golds myself..I'm up to IC-4 (Camaro making the blind turns) on one of my memory cards. As soon as I get to IC-9 I'll let you know.

By the way, did anyone else think IC 1 and 2 were both super easy? I got golds on both those tests after only 3 tries.

That would be a help. Providing it isn't too big so yeah. I do have the PAL version though which is significantly harder to gold.

i remember i have done with wall-riding, otherwise also seemed impossible to me

i managed 19,9xx. it is some kind of cheating but if youre desperate..

What do you mean by wall riding? If you touch the walls you lose speed right?
 
hey y'all, which version is the pal version exactly? and how can it be harder? the test is the same right? just the gold times different? and to liam, should i just post the espxe replay? oh, and i just tried the license test again. I'm down to a 20.079, have a good day :)

ps: for I-C 9, something that helped me to drastically improve my time is to late apex the first corner of the double apex.

You know what helped me on the A4 test might help you here: try using d-pad steering with analog gas & brakes. Use an auto tranny, too...it's just less work when you're trying a test for the 218th time.

It seems the d-pad allows cars to get thru turns without scrubbing off speed if you do it right (might require a lot of tapping on the steering I don't know).

This is the one with the Alfa 156 in Rome ?

That was really easy, no offense :P Just have to learn when to brake, how long to brake, and when to turn in ... I did under 20 seconds, IIRC ... I'll have to check my memory cards tomorrow (currently working on my 4th 100% complete game with a 100% win ratio and racing each race only ONCE (so done in 226 game days) to warm up for GT4) ... I may even have a demo but I'm not sure ...

Only ones I have trouble with are the Camaro on the blind corners in International C License and the Alfa 155 on Rome Night in Super License ... Open corners I can do it in 1 try, but it usually takes me a few dozen tries to get the Blind (damn walls) ...

Yeah, that Camaro blind-wall test freaks me out. You have to get your timing and cornering perfect. I was amazed that I did the 1st 3 IC tests in just a few tries...but the 4th one currently has me stumped.

Takes a few tries, but normally doesn't take me more than 10 minutes to finally get a Gold ... It's really frustrating when you're consistently within 0.1 seconds of Gold ... :P Oh and I could only find 2 of my other memory cards, but they were both above 20 (20.091 was my best) ...

I found this post very interesting because last week I started to go for the gold in IC-9 too.
After 3 evenings of trials ( I play 1 hour each evening ) my best is 20.170 so far so I feel confident it's just a question of a few more hours ( and a little luck ) to get the gold .
I found that right after braking before the left double apex it helps to wait for a few 1/100 of a second before accelerating full throttle.

I've found it's much easier to get Gold if you rapidly tap the accelerator through the corner, rather than hold it down ...
