In B-Spec mode, when you look at a drive, there is an icon just to the right of his head, mine current driver has an orange arrow pointing down next to it, but im sure before it was green, anyone have an idea what this arrow means??

I was wondering the same thing. I have two drivers. The first one got to class 5 and I was able to get a second driver. The first one changed from green to orange and the second one was green. I then ran the second up to class 5 and now he is orange and the 1setone is green again. Only level 7 on B-Spec right now so no new driver to hire yet.
I wonder if the orange means that he is a bit stressed and needs to take a few races off?
I'll let my other driver drive a few and see if the status changes.

I've noticed that the icon will change from green to red for a driver that I have been racing a lot. If I switch to my other driver for a while, the icon for the unused driver will return to green. I wonder if it is fatigue perhaps.

I'm not entirely sure but I recall reading it was to do with form. When green your driver is in good form, when orange pointing down he is suffering some bad results at present.

I'm sceptical. I just had a guy place first in a race, and he went from green to red. If he's in bad form he's still winning.

100% its not form. i strongly believe its fatigue. i use the same driver over and over and it goes red and his winning all races (cash mule). so it has to be fatigue. to avoid it, alternate between two.

I'm starting to think it's fatigue maybe. I drove him hard for a few races in a row, he kept running his strength all the way down, and mental strength all the way down, because it was kinda a long race for him (6 laps, 12 minutes).
His arrow was down after that race, and each race after it. How can we rest him? Do I just need to drive for a while and then come back to him? Or start my second driver and let them grow?

yeah its weird. i raced my guy so much lately and insted of being orange or green he went to blue. i dont get it, and i dont care. but i AM glad to say now that he is at level 6 he isnt driving like such a moron anymore.

I think it's mood, i've got my drivers going up and down while using another driver.(B-spec lvl 19)

i think its his "form". my guy seems to drive better when he is blue.

no its fatigue, he drives better when his blue because his less fatigued.
i tested this. i put the driver in 5 races that he was going to win, he won all, it went orange/redish and the arrow went down.

So how do we rest him if it's fatigue? Do I need to drive some, or start my second B-Spec driver driving?

100% is form, actually.
it's in the manual inside the game (on the main menu, where you select GT Mode, Arcade, etc.)
the more poorly you direct him, the more poorly he drives. the icon reflects how he's doing. direct him poorly consecutively (or rarely give him commands) and he starts to develop bad habits. direct him decently, he'll do better on his own.
you'll also wanna keep an eye on his mood inside the race (the slider that goes from blue to red). if he's in the red, he'll react poorly and make some serious mistakes. constantly pushing him will cause him to get frustrated and tire quicker.
if his mood starts to drop to where he's making mistakes, slow him down a little (Pace Down). he'll calm down and begin making better decisions.
