Well, as neither sound, car modifications, AI nor physics is primarily depending on a more powerful console, I voted for car count online and offline. Basically bigger grids. Especially in endurance racing and on tracks like La Sarthe and Nürburgring. Also for NASCAR of course...

By the way, there are rumors that PS4 may be revealed this spring or this summer. As with all rumors this should not be trusted for five cents, but it is at least a bit exciting :)

Loading times and responsiveness, hands down most important for gameplay. The PS4's RAM will make it possible to keep the major menu screens in memory, so they don't have to be loaded every time.

Online play stability.

After that, jaggy shadows.

Bigger fields of cars should easily be possible.

Hopefully AI can be made smarter. (although I think this is not related to PS4)

Not necesarily. It depends on the resolution of the textures used and how many polys the cars are made up of. If the texture resolution is high and the polys of the cars is high then it will fill up the memory quickly limiting the ammounts of cars that can be rendered on the screen.

Uhm, there will be at least 8 times as much memory as in the PS3 and they don't need to increase detail for the cars from GT5. I think it should easily be possible to make 30+ fields possible. (which only matters on some tracks like Nürburgring)

I'm not going to try and discuss this because I already have a warning.

In order:

Physics
Weather-Day/night effects
Car count online and offline (more than 16)
Engine Sound
Track Detail
AI
Damage
Car modifications
Car Detail

1080p60fps goes without saying ;)

Im not really into computing, but the recently leaked PS4/Orbis specs sound very impressive.

I would be very suprised and dissappointed if the PS4 GT game still has a 16 car field.

Ive been building computers with nine years and Ive been PC gaming with ten years. The specs Ive seen for the PS4 arent that impressive at all. If they upgrade the testures and use all premium cars then you will be lucky to see more than 16 cars especially on a track like Nordschliefe.

Also Ive seen a a leaked source for the non Dev kit Orbis and the consumer console will only have 4GB of ram with a bigger HDD. I wont post a link to the site because its a PS3 hacking site that posts news updates too.

How do you explain old PC games, running on much lower hardware and RAM than the PS4, having much more than 16 cars? It's not like the visuals were low for that time period, games like GTR2 still look half decent today and that can run 30 odd cars with 1GB system RAM and 256Mb Video RAM.

I know what you're saying about the increases in graphics quality always lowering the car count but with PS4 having so much more of the important RAM I can see at least 24 being a common amount, rather than 12 we have now.

Are you serious? Look at GT2 towards Gran Turismo 5 and then come back and ask the same question seriously. GTR2 looks rubbish. The PS3 coyld run that game with 30+ cars without breaking a sweat.

The leaked specs of the final devkit say 4GB GDDR5 ram. Im not much into computing, so I dont know how much this is. But aome guys on neogaf did some math, with those leaked specs the Orbis has a 192 gb/s bandwitdh (Ps3 had 25), which gives little more the 3gb/frame at 60 fps.
Are this good specs? Can we expect GT6 to have more detailed enviroment on PS4?

DDR5 ram is apparently significantly faster than DDR3 ram , but the speed of the ram isn't necesarily what will make more detailed enviournments possible. More ram is also needed to store the data. Also the PS4 will supposedly have 3.5GB of ram for games and 512mb of ram for the os with 2.2GB of video ram. With those specs it will be possible to have 16premium cars on the Nordschliefe track without having any problems of slow downs but with the size of the Nordschliefe track and higher resolution textures it will easily fill up the ram. PD might optomise the game to be able to run more than 16 cars on Nordschliefe or long tracks but you will have to deal with lower resolution testures (This is how optomisation works). I am not trying to insult or argue here but You guys need to understand that even though some of the textures on the tracks are bad they needed to be that way for the game to be optomised. If all the textures were high quality the PS3 wouldn't be able to handle it. We should hopefully see those textures upgraded with GT6 if its on the PS4.

To be honest the main area I want to see improvements is nothing to do with horsepower. I mean yeah a lot of your options are what I would expect but if I imagine GT5 with all of that it would still be heavily flawed. It's the basic core and game design I want to see big changes, it's why I wanted another PS3 game.

Well said. To that effect, you shouldn't have to do this..

The old idea of a CELL with 32 cores was amazing 👍
That would be a HUGE advancement in any field...
As for the improvement, I would say Physics, Damage, Weather-Day/night effects and Sounds, all in the same level.

It's funny so many have voted "AI", and there's not even a poll option for a better online mode. AI will never beat real people, especially not in a GT title as it has hardly improved since the first game. They should concentrate on the online part more than anything for all I care.

Perhaps including a rating system similar to iRacing's is not a bad idea.

The thing about this poll is that there are so many different things that people would like to see improved that it makes it challenging for some of us to narrow it down to one vote. If 'online' was an option, then I can arguably say that 'AI' would get a small amount of votes, making it almost meaningless to put it in the poll* in the first place.

I want better online drag options.
It feels like gt guys forget that the drag community is big. and is growing.

When we race pinks the winner gets the car straight away.

Put more option for stream.
no stream
low stream
strong stream

An better online open garage, tune transmision on the track.
like you go at the back of the drag course under a tent/ camp.
and tune ur car.

Option for a whole team to see you tune a car. or a teammate to help you tune the cars.

Decals or letters.

more rims.
You can call them gt5 rims. if no licence.

Game play and game design.

As that wasn't an option I went for AI. But its the core of how you play the game, the races, the challenges etc. that need a major refresh and bringing up to date. The core of GT5 is excellent, but it falls down here.
