Now that is an interesting concept, but would people be willing to buy the same game for more money?
No one ever said that.
Why not price it at, say, $30 or whatever a Greatest Hits title goes for?

Yeah it would be impossible to make hi-res grafix in GT2, unless you split the game up into 4 discs or something.

The only way that they were able to get the "high-res" was because in high-res mode there were no other cars except for you............they took that extra processing power that free'd up and used it on the graphics.
Trade off guys...............race alone, or lose a little on the graphics..............
And remember, back when the game was made, that was cutting edge, it pushed the limits of programming, so don't be too quick to judge harshly.

It would need to be lower than that, but why bother, you can play the old PS games on the PS2 and you upgrade the graphics and load times as well. GT looks mighty fine on the PS2 with better graphics. GT2 I haven't really tried yet.

I also disagree that GT4 will be the new GT2. GT2 was a worse product than GT, I hope that GT4 isn't going to be worse than GT3.

I don't think GT4 will be worse than the 3rd game. For one thing, they've spent plenty of time getting it ready and the release date has fallen back to 2/25/05 I think. They didn't try to rush it out for the '04 Christmas season! Seems they learned their lesson there.

I agree about the PS2 graphix, which are subtly better. Well, I shouldn't say better...I'll say I prefer them more. I put my PS2 slim on smooth graphics setting and I notice the tire smoke looks more like smoke. Also, some of the sponsors on the race-modified cars look not so harsh to me.

Exactly, you guys are use to GT3, that makes GT2 look like crap, when GT2 came out that game was the best PS1 graphics ever, I remember everyone saying that back in 2000 on a diffrent forum.

And GT4 is going to 10 times better than GT3 from what I have seen and heard. I just don't understand the whole picture thing that has been added or B-Spec, if you wanted to watch the computer race, watch a demo.

Excuse me but I play GT far more than either GT2 or 3 and GT has better graphics. Everybody agrees that the GT2 graphics suffered because they used up the PS1's memory on all the cars that were included. In m,y opinon they would have done better not to include so many variants of the same car and have upgraded the graphics, or even kept them @ the same.

I'd take out at leats half the Skylines and Silvias, and make MG and Rover dealers

I'd also like to used car sections for European makers too!

it amazes me how many people think GT2 has better graphix than the first game! If I were an optomologist, I could make a living filling prescriptions for all the folks who can't see how crappy GT2 graphix are in comparison.

Really what it comes down to is consistency: some of the cars in GT2 look awesome (a lot of the classic vintage cars, for instance), but a great majority of them don't look refined..or they have way too much shine on them...

Check out the comparison of GT2 to GT3/ PS1-PS2 The difference is like night and day and simple to differentiate!

Jetboys427---A little?! How the hell did you hybrid wheels that humongously huge?

What can she do????

The wheels come from a car which had 20 inch rims, I believe it was the V8 Vantage Tires which Makes the rims size change! Then I raised the car to the Max of 255 front and rear, Added a bunch of HP and made it handle!!!👍

Below is how it acts with the stock rim size.

The Lil' Red Express has nothing on the Midget. (Wow! Did I just say that?! ) BTW, check out my poll. It will have you stumped for a while.....

I would make sure the cars all had better sound. None of the cars (especially the muscle cars) have a throaty sound...they don't even seem like they are pushing hard. I would also combine all the different "cities" because I hate browsing through north, south, east and west....just confusing. And...just for comical effect, I would make all menu music the song from the Car Wash....that cracks me up every time I hear it. I think the biggest problem with GT2 was that it was too easy....I say that once you complete a race/championship that earns you a car, you don't get it again (because racing the same race over and over just to sell the car is cheap-but I do it). And I hated how the hp rating for a car would be 276 for example at the car dealer, and then in your garage its 321...thus making it illegal in 295hp races. And the hp ratings should be more strict...or even restrict entries with a maximum hp to weight ratio....that would be better than hp. One last thing, the class restrictions should be enforced....only station wagons, convertables, 80's sports cars, etc... in their races. I think the only one that was enforced was the K Car races, correct?

GT2 was too easy, You got a GameShark for GT2? I have a AI car/Cars for you to race against if so!!! It doesn't loose many races...👍 If you beat it, I can give you a race with 5 AI Hybrids that will kick into you!

There about 3 to 12.00 on Ebay for the PS/1 I thought you were familiar with them already, Sorry about that, You couldn't keep up with the AI cars I have if your not familiar with a GS.

Nope, the K race wasn't restricted either. It just had an HP limit so low that you had little choice but to use a K car.

I didn't ask the first question, mkpelto did, but thanks for the info. Are there any stores that sell them?

May be a gaming store that sells used stuff like trade ins, There's ton's of them on Ebay, If you play GT2 and want more fun than you've been having with it, You need a GS for the PS/1

Alright, thanks HYBRIDLVR, that will be helpful. Just a question, but but can you alter a stock vehicle's downforce? (Ex. Make a '67 GTX have .87 front, .99 rear)

That's a peice of cake, But why stop there, You can make the downforce 176 in the front and 255 in the back and it will handle super! Also through in a 7 Speed Tranny etc...
