I'm bored...already...

Well.... For comparison, it was about two years after the launch of GT5 before I completed the single player endurance races. Remember when they were 6,12,and 24 hours long?

Gts can't match that.
I know what you are saying, and fair enough.

But I'll play the devils advocate.
GTS Custom Races can offer many more Endurance races than GT5 ever did.
Even 24 hours if you choose.
And in any category you wish.

But GT's single player is built on playing for achievement. They had prize cars that could only be obtained by winning the event. Without the prize, the race is run for it's own sake, which isn't the same thing. That's why GTS's single player is rather pointless. There is no achievement to be had other than XP, but XP is of no purpose.

Yeh mate, sure.
I know where you are coming from.

I was simply pointing out that GTS has the ability to hold those events, and more, and there isn't a Level barrier holding you back to do those types of events whenever you choose.

Have 10 friends playing at the moment, but have no idea what they are doing and can't join them. Maybe they are just staring menu screen aswell... Daily races aren't any different from Assetto corsa, only with less variety. Maybe once a week i see one friend in open lobby, but it's near empty. Like every other room.

Don't even dare to quess how many players there are playing online, but the whole game feels so empty and quiet compared to GT5/6.

PS3 is cheap, doesn't have online subscriptions, doesn't require new wheels or such stuff to play.
I figure you haven't been able to join GT5 players for years, and you won't be able to join GT6 players after March this year.

So they will either come to GTS or some other game, or you never played online with them before so whats the worry.

If they are in GTS open lobbies, you will see an icon over the lobbies icon in the menu. If they are in anything else within the huge amount of stuff to do in GTS, then you won't be able to join them, unless you send them a message and create a lobby to go race in.

Erm :indiff:

I always liked to keep my friend list small, so it's not only about missing friends, but growing player base/community overal to race with. I mean there no chatting or friend requests send in daily races.. After every race you are back staring at main menu and random racers remain random. I blame PD for making things too accessible.

I think most people are practicing due to the nature of the ranking system, or are in sport races.
I raced drove about in an online lobby with some guys from here the other night, but I wasn't fast enough to actually race with them.

I am truly sorry if I sound pessimistic and negative, but I feel GT Sport is utterly dissappointing in terms of content, I mean I've already owned most of the cars (the ones I don't have are ones I'm not interested in having), got gold on all GT League, Driving School, Mission Challenge, and Circuit Experience, raced over 300 Sport Mode races (which are very repetitive btw), thoroughly explored the livery editor and Scapes, played a lot of lobby races (which are usually just bumper cars). That might seem like a lot, but 2-3 months into the game and I already feel I've done everything there is to be done.

I apologize for the really long rant, I could've typed an essay but left a lot unsaid.
So you played more than 150-200 hours... It's normal that you feel bored. And even with most content you will feel bored quickly. Change game, go to PCars/Assetto/etc and come back in one month.

I don’t think this game was created with the intent to keep players entertained for hours like world of Warcraft or destiny. If you’re really racing and pushing hard, it should wear you out mentally (even more so physically if you have a wheel) and with that in mind, there’s enough content to keep you entertained for that time. The game gives you gaps and breaks between races for a reason, while still providing those long ass endurance races that some are willing/able to put time into, but you still have to consider that not everyone has all day to play. Even on weekends when I sometimes have extra to spare, I won’t play for more than 2-3 hours, I get worn out and I got other stuff to do. What others suggested with playing different games is a great option if you really are that bored.

I'm not so bored at all... I'll rather fire up GTS on PS4 then AC on PC, multiplayer is way better in GTS then many other games, especially Forza wreckfest... but hey, not everything is for everybody, then again, I like to experiment with cars and drive them around Nordschleife... and I feel more relaxed in GT then any other game... donno why...

Still not bored here. Just the opposite, really. Tbh, I enjoy the Lobby option most. Although the Dailies are quite challenging, I took a break, because lobby racing is far more relaxed but still competitive and challenging. I even signed up to this forum, i mean I never took part in any Forum ever. This is my first real online racing experience with GTS, besides of PC1. I already have built up some Community with some decent people and mixing it up with some Time Trials it’s impossible to be bored. What gives me the biggest motivation is the fact that my driving is still improving. When I started playing I was like 5-8 seconds off from the Leaderboards but with my passion for Motorsport I managed to close that Gap significantly. I even bought a Wheel a new Pedalset and a Playseat to get the max impact and joy. I think if there’s a passion for Motorsport in General than it’s impossible to get bored. So for me my journey is far from finished.

Now that I won the trophy for poles and wins, I'm losing the desire to do dailies. It struck me today with win #95. I was just kind of indifferent to it. Race A and B had their uses for me, but now they just seem way too short for anything meaningful. Maybe if there was daily leader board or something. IRL, you race for a championship or some other accolade (like Le Mans winner, or Daytona 24 winner, etc). Now, you just race.

lobbies are a bit in shambles compared to GT6 IMHO. So few people want to run with BoP, so it's just wide open. You never really know what you are tuning for like GT5 and GT6 (where you tuned for a PP level). With BoP, since you can't turn it on in time trial mode, and there's no practice area like in the past, it's seems to be for folks that don't want to bother with tuning at all. The tuning people just leave it off (this could just be what I am seeing though).

I know some people like playing single player, but with nothing to gain, why bother? Also, with the AI being what it is, tuning is a moot point there as well. I wish there was some limited edition car, even a special livery. I know someone could redo it, but I still there there is a value in a genuine special version of a car.

The FIA races are a bit useless too. I've had the good fortune to finish as the top ranked drive for a manufacturer three times now, once with Peugeot, once with Alfa, and once with Ferrari, but then it seems that the game doesn't care at all. I had to go back and check the previous results just to confirm whether I won or not because there was a no fanfare, no bonus, no special anything (no contract extension??). I was disappointed to find out the top 24 was just the top 24 drivers rather than the top 24 finishers, because when I believed I could earn my way into one of those races, there was a reason to try.

Ya, the dailies can be addictive, but it seems the direction was all "that'll do".

Is there an official explanation of this somewhere? I've probably seen the rules at some point or another but I don't remember how this was stated.

The only official rule I know is from the update:

"6. Top 24 Superstars
 - In the FIA Championships within Sport mode, a 'Top 24 Superstars' race will be held as the final round of each race season. This will be a single race within the final round, where only one group will be matched among the top drivers. In this race you will earn more points than a standard race."

I had read that to mean the "top drivers" from the round, but I have read on this forum that if your DR is high enough, you get in. I don't know if this is a bug or not. It seems sort of silly that this special race is just for the top 24 DR ranked players. You'd figure it would be like a race of champions or something.

I mean, what's the point of the FIA championships if NOT to get into this top 24? Or maybe even just an invite for the round the following week. I realize that if you invite 24 players, they may not all come, but my point is that this top 24 race should be based on the merits of the championship rather than DR.

Like, imagine if the real world worked like this! Imagine FIA endurance running and entire season, and then the guys from Formula 1 show up to run Le Mans.

As for the championships in general, maybe it's me, but being one of the top players for your country or manufacturer should mean something more. There isn't even an honorable mention in the season recap. How hard is it to show the top three drivers from a country and manufacturer? That's something every player can aspire to. Everyone can get good enough to challenge for a top three finish in their respective manufacturer and it spreads the talent around as well.

if PD can copy iRacing 12 weeks hosted league series with champ points and divisions, that will be nice

Mazda challenge
rwd league
blaincpain Gt4

I was wondering where you got that from, so basically we don't really know right?

I can't remember the thread, but it was confirmed in that thread. Maybe one of the admins can weigh in on it. Several posters confirmed that if your DR is high enough, you can get in even if you have scored no points in the weekly championship.

That is demotivating.

I never get bored. I go into a free run drive for pleasure or show off your best cars and cruise around the normal Nurburgring. I have nearly every car except for a few 1mill VGT cars and I haven't even driven most of them. In the past couple days online I've driven Ford F150, Suzuki swift, Ford GT, Viper GTS '02, F40, and the M3 GTR. And I have driven them all a lot. I seem to really enjoy going back and driving them over and over again. I've been keeping away from the racing cars and just driving road cars for now. I'm no where near bored. Driving online at the Nur is awesome apart from dirty drivers.

You need to join a league..............

League/Lobby wins were counted in GT5 and GT6. Now, those wins are tracked on a per car basis only. That makes lobby wins essentially irrelevant. If the Leagues were somehow officially sanctioned so you could get DR/SR points and record keeping, then it would be so much better.

I think any game without a definitive end is supposed to get boring after a while. Some games may have greater replay value for a person, but in the end, getting bored and moving on is what it's all about. Otherwise, you wouldn't have a game collection, you'd have just the one game.

Get out of the whole GTS Sport environment. A private league. Raceonoz for example, rated divisions, points, championships, regulated and great guys only interested in good genuine racing. No DR/SR rubbish, no trolls and FAR more competitive. A great environment to prove and improve for skills as a racer....
