Get out of the whole GTS Sport environment. A private league. Raceonoz for example, rated divisions, points, championships, regulated and great guys only interested in good genuine racing. No DR/SR rubbish, no trolls and FAR more competitive. A great environment to prove and improve for skills as a racer....

Sport mode works because it is available at, more or less, the player's convenience. League racing is not.

I've tried leagues before but the world around me needs to stop and that's just not viable. Far more competitive? I regularly race with the top drivers in the region. I don't think I want it to be more competitive. I've never run into a troll (yet).

Boring is just not possible.

You want to be competitive , go to Sport Mode. You can race within 10 mins.

Want it little easy, play offline. GT league or Campaign or go Custom racing.

Want a leisurely drive, pick a car and stroll through Nurburgring. Thats what i do sometimes.

Want to be creative, livery editor or Scapes then.

If you are still Bored then wait for Aliens to create a racing game for you :P

Have 10 friends playing at the moment, but have no idea what they are doing and can't join them. Maybe they are just staring menu screen aswell... Daily races aren't any different from Assetto corsa, only with less variety. Maybe once a week i see one friend in open lobby, but it's near empty. Like every other room.

Don't even dare to quess how many players there are playing online, but the whole game feels so empty and quiet compared to GT5/6.
turning off voice chat in the lobby...not help create a community

But it does prevent you from having to listen to peoples
  • crap music
  • dog barking
  • kids screaming
  • baby crying
  • wife talking
  • singing
  • human beat box
  • heavy breathing
  • clunky wheel input noises
  • etc
It would be nice if the PSN allowed more than 8 people in a party chat though.
simple just turn off the sound of the person you do not want to hear.

yeh, but it takes time identifying who it is when multiple people are all making noises at the same time, and then there is always 'that guy' who decides to practice singing or showing off his human beat box noises once the race has started.
Or his dog/wife/baby/kids decide to make noise once the race has started.

I'm wondering how many people would deploy noise making as a tactic in the middle of sport races 💡
I'm sure you'd hear some interesting language

You certainly would if I was on mic anyway... lots of words beginning with C F and B

Here's the scariest thing about GTS. With NO OTHER GT title, before GTS, did I find myself 4 months after release wondering when "the real" GT would show up. What we have is what we will have for the foreseeable future. This isn't a far fetched fear, this is 99.9% likely.

What we have is still pretty sparse.

Doesn't anyone remember GT Prologue online play???? Remember how You picked a car and the game would put you into an online race for that car?? Why was that idea abandoned in favor of what we have now????? That was WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY better than this daily race B.S.

They might add stuff to GT League, but who really cares (and why?)? GT League is the worst implementation of a single player I have ever seen in any iteration of GT. It is THE WORST.

There's less community now than in either GT5 or GT6. The GT6 community stuff was too difficult to use well, but instead of Instead of trying to improve it, they just threw everything out the window.

Tuning has become a lost art. THINK ABOUT THAT!!! A cornerstone of the game has become sidelined. I have tuned a few GR3 cars, but I haven't used those cars in tuned form. This whole N class with BoP is a massive step back from the PP system and it's what we're stuck with from now on. I was really hoping it was better, and it is so close to being better, but I have a hard time finding someone using it without also turning off tuning. Without the tuning, BoP is not all that balanced, since you need to tune to really get the most out of the cars. The opposite is that tuning is on, but the N class (or GR) is the only deliminator, so there is less balance than the old PP system. If they had this N class with the old PP system, that makes sense. "street cars only" becomes "N class" with a PP setting. Or, you get no N class and just a PP setting. No one wanted "BoP" but I remember people asking for limits on weight reduction and such. That would have been SOOOOOOO much better. A tiered weight limit and then PP from there.

The only curated online we are ever going to get is this random 3 daily races. There isn't going to be any JGTC championships. No NASCAR. No championships at all. So, your DR/SR is meaningless. See, DR/SR is supposed to be the gateway to keep bad drivers out of your online lobby...but you have to be in the daily to earn it, which keeps people out of lobbies...so the DR/SR isn't set to stop people from entering the lobbies. All the online leagues have functioned this long without DR/SR so they don't need it.

We've gotten 27 of the 50 (approx) cars coming by the end of March. How many have you actually used. I mean ACTUALLY used? How many have you tuned and put significant RACING mileage on? The Iso? I LOVED the 330 in GT5 and GT6. Some lobbies let me drive it in 550 rooms. Now....It's useless. I get to drive it by myself.:rolleyes::rolleyes: All the VGT's? Useless.

I can't be the only one who noticed that there are fewer good lobbies out there than in GT5 or GT6

Anyway....maybe someday they'll make a PROPER sequel to GT5

Judging from the age of people on GT planet, we are dinosaurs and a dying breed at that. People play video games for fun, driving in a fast manner is not as fun as hooning about is fun. Driving fast is more of a test of ability and consistency, which isn't as fun once you reach your practice time available plateau.

Car tuning nowadays mostly consists of going on the internet and buying a modified ECU, plugging it in and getting back on grinder or facebook or some other thing that younger people do nowadays.

Games on PS3 were subscription free, to an aging community or people with young families that makes a big difference. Maybe they will come over to PS4 once the GT6 servers shut down at the end of this month?

Sport mode is certainly a live experiment, and we are the lab rats. I've been voting with my feet and haven't entered a GR1 race out of principle, the lobbies are sparse of tire wear rooms, so I've been mostly playing the VR mode and getting my bank balance back up on blue moon bay, ready for new cars to drop.

Hopefully a new track will cheer everyone back up.

This game is generally disappointing in my opinion, but I kind of knew what to expect the last year or so. I was optimistic at launch, but the sheen has definitely dulled. I occasionally fire it up and drive some of my favorite cars in Arcade mode, or maybe try some of the campaign, but that’s the extent of it.

GTS is an online racer and livery editor paradise. Here’s hoping for more to come, or the next title has some depth. In the meantime I’ll retreat to the lonely and largely abandoned world known as offline gaming.

GTS is an online racer and livery editor paradise.

That's being generous.

If it were an online racing paradise, the DR/SR would work in the lobbies too. There's no reason it shouldn't. The lobbies know your rank so why not adjust your ratings based on who you are racing against?

As for the livery editor, it's a great addition but at what cost? No more exclusive cars to be give reason to the single player.

For now I think I'll get my daily car and that's it and I may not even use my wheel to do so. I have faith that PD will change/improve things but for now I'm bored too.

Just a couple of tiny changes and I'd come back all out. Turn on heavy ghosting and allow tuning. Just that would satisfy me for a good bit.

The livery editor is brilliant though!

I'm curious where people get this faith.

PD has never done anything to garner this optimism. They have never delivered anything game changing after the launch of the game. They have never really improved on any feature. I can't remember any feature that was added after launch that wasn't part of the plan at the time. Can you name a single feature that was massively improved upon after launch?

They aren't a fast moving dynamic company. They are the sloths of game development. They set it and forget it.

PD is a Sony Internal developer. They should have HUGE resources at their disposal and yet, pretty much any other developer out there is managing to churn out content at a comparable quality but faster rate. GTS is the FIRST GT for the PS4!!! That is supposed to be a game changer!!! This is supposed to be a killer app!! Instead, it makes me re-evaluate whether purchasing the PS4 was the right thing to do. I mean, I have it now so I might as well make the best of it, but I have never been more underwhelmed by a GT title.

I fired up GT prologue the other day....SHOCKINGLY similar.

Something is wrong, like on an epic level type of wrong.

The features I want are already in the game and specifically tuning was already in Sport mode.

I’m not looking for game changing; the base is fantastic and always has been. I’m looking for smoothing and ironing out, polishing, a tune up of a few features. The same treatment GT5 and 6 received.

I'm looking for them to take the system that underpins the FIA championship to be implemented for more, better, online championships.

And yes, for the love of all that is holy, put tuning back into the dailies.
