This process detects technical (setup) violations only. Course boundary validation still needs to be done manually.

Ok cool. Off to do some replay checking.

Great to know & well done, all!

I used to race in a league where we discovered that the host & his mate (who were both ALWAYS the quickest) were manipulating things in their favour & that caused me to lose a lot of faith in online integrity. So this really is cool!

This is great stuff, man!

Well done to everyone involved!

Dancing shoe'ssssss ;)

The man from Utopia is more popular than I thought!!! I know I'm drifting off topic but, did you guys know he gave Steve Vai his first job?? We really need more people like Zappa today...

This shows great dedication that you have found this so close to gt6 coming out, great going guys!

Considering you do this for fun, PD could really take a leaf out of your book in terms of catching the cheats in the seasonals.

I hope in gt6 we will be able to create time trials just like the seasonal events, that way you can turn all the aids off and select a car. I hope that's what they mean when they say they will give more organizing control

That would be awesome! Perhaps we'll get something similar to the console/form/whatever that they use...just without the stuck SRF button. :D

Hopefully GT6 will open up a whole world of options for the evolution of the WRS.

Good to see, and proud of the group.

It takes less time to do things right, than to explain why you did it wrong.
What purpose would cheating achieve, if you claim a victory that means nothing?

Goal in GT5, GT6. Not to get lapped by the aliens in online races!

Great work Admins!!

WELL RCVD and Great News too, plus the automated proccess helps reviewers to actually check only if the lap was clean.

Very cool. Even though I haven't raced much in GT5 I do keep an eye on the WRS from time to time. Glad to see such a high % of clean racers. Although from past experience thats what I would of expected, good clean racers having fun. Cheers!

Really impressive work!

If you don't want to say, it's ok, but could it be Ren (ealirendur) who figured this out? ;)

No, Sphinx. His contribution to WRS over the years cannot be understated. 👍

He is an incredible credit to our community. :)

Most of the replies in this thread have been overwhelmingly positive, and we thank you for your support. :)

As previously announced, we gave multiple time offenders a week's time to come forward. None of the offenders took advantage of that offer.

Once the deadline passed, we sent the offenders Private Messages stating that they would be removed permanently from the registry a week after the PM was sent, giving them another chance to come clean to the community.

That time has now passed and we have 2 permanent removals from the GTP_Registry:

GTP_transamguy - Found to have used SRF on the majority of his submissions.

GTP_Litchi - Found to have used Favorites cars from his own garage instead of Arcade-mode cars, in all his Arcade-mode submissions

The remaining violations discovered by the new replay analysis appear to be one-off mistakes by members with an otherwise unblemished record of submissions. These members will be contacted privately via PM by the staff and issued a warning to be more careful in the future. Their identities will not be published by the staff and their status on the registry will not be impacted.

Through the above actions, we can now announce that the registry is clean, and consists of fair drivers only. 👍

Great job Kevin. 👍 ...and all the admins invloved in this lengthy process. And not least, Jerry for making the discovery in the first place. Don't you just love WRS.

Awesome job guys! Does this mean some TT results will be changed?

Al
Prior results will stand. We're not planning to adjust handicaps, etc. All of this has already required significant effort, we would rather apply additional effort to future events, as opposed to past transgressions.

Fair enough! We all appreciate the amount of time you and the team have put into this!

Al

Wow, I'm a bit surprised with those results. I'm also a bit peeved as I came 2nd in D2 in weeks 91 and 111 to those who have been found guilty of cheating :'(

Nevertheless - well done for running this process through so professionally!

Agreed as well, nice work guys 👍 I'm a bit surprised by the names as well never would have suspected them

Yes, that's an unfortunate side effect. There are a couple of weeks where my finishing position was affected as well.

We also unfortunately have some precedent in dealing with these sorts of situations. We've historically altered open results, but we have not amended past events.

We're quite fortunate, that cheaters are few and far between in WRS, but we also have some history to fall back on when the time comes to deal with them.

Dang, I'm really bummed to find out the names of the offenders, I've always enjoyed competing with those guys.

Nice job with the whole process though.

Didnt noticed the update on this, sad to hea, but its for the better, well done guys! 👍

Wow, this is very interesting. Are you able to decipher settings used on cars in online races also? I'm not dumb enough to ask you on this thread how you do it, but if it works with online races it would be very handy to know how, as I race in a league and we often run cars with set tuning parameters meaning we can't set the lobby to prohibited tuning. Although I'm positive all the guys I race with are honest enough to comply with the rules, we have had one incident where someone forgot to reset a setting.

I can only assume that it is viable to do with only the car with which the replay saver used, as it extracts the info from that somehow??? Would be really helpful to know a little more.

Thanks, Jim.

Our replay analysis tools do not currently work with online race replays and we're not investing more time in developing those tools for GT5 given GT6 is just around the corner. The tools were built and tested on offline hot lap replays only. We are comfortable with the WRS-Online racing community and the regulation checks available in online lobbies which are not available offline, hence our focus on offine replays.
