Well done Jerry and the Admins! It's a shame about the cheats but good riddance to them anyway 👎 If you have to cheat to compete... then you don't belong here :P

Congrats to all the decent clean racers who make the WRS what it is

Very well said!! I agree. 👍

Through the above actions, we can now announce that the registry is clean, and consists of fair drivers only.
Well done guys 👍 I am off from the game for a while but admire greatly the way you are acting to keep this fine racing community clean and honest.

No, Sphinx. His contribution to WRS over the years cannot be understated. 👍

He is an incredible credit to our community. :)
Hail Jerry

Our replay analysis tools do not currently work with online race replays and we're not investing more time in developing those tools for GT5 given GT6 is just around the corner. The tools were built and tested on offline hot lap replays only. We are comfortable with the WRS-Online racing community and the regulation checks available in online lobbies which are not available offline, hence our focus on offine replays.

Thanks for your response Gravitron, keep up the good work.

Four things to say about all of this.

1. I am usually 1.5 to 2 seconds a lap faster with SRF on. If transamguy was using it and that's the best he could do, then I guess he really needed it!

2. Litchi...Yep I knew it!

3. Now that we can tell exactly what everyone is running, I would like to suggest more Arcade Mode sessions using cars from our Favorites selection. Run them exactly like we do in Practice mode only in Arcade. This would allow us to use our setups, but avoid having to stop, exit, and change the oil.

4. And lastly, how about a new rule. Winners of each division will have their setups posted in the results thread. While we already know Chris's:), it would be nice to know the others. This would help those who have no setup knowledge learn the ins and outs of setting up a car for various tracks and also give them a nice setup for cars that they have to acquire to participate in the events.

That's a nice idea mate! Only issue I could see is say for example Chris posts his tune, and then half of D2 use it, and D3-5 use it, you would get the same setup repeated. I think the overall winner's setup would be nice though 👍

I can be posting my tunes, but mine tend to be done around Saturday or Sunday, so a bit late for anyone to try it. I'm not as fast as Chris and Kevin in tuning :) but I'm getting better

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that , it still burns the oil & breaks in cars. (minus electric cars)

Seasonal TT's don't burn oil / break in the engine , while adding miles.
So , that's where we could run stock cars from our own garage without worrying about oil changes.

Sorry my friend, I can't let you in on all my dirty little secrets. :sly:

And yes, Litchi, I always had my suspicions about him also. I just had this gut feeling.

So if I drive one from the arcade garage, I can run all day, but if I drive one from my favorites garage, I will have to exit Arcade mode, go, into GT mode, change oil, exit Gt mode, go back into Arcade mode....etc...etc?

Bummer.

I like the idea about the tune :) 👍

I quite like the idea, shows how much could a tune affect your time. However, I saw this in week 118 thread and I found it interesting:

The posting of settings is encouraged, but it's certainly not mandatory. We respect anyone wishing not to post settings, so please do not publicly ask someone to post their settings, they will if they want to.

Yes, we have to respect anyone wishing not to post his settings.

+1. I don't tune so I have no secrets to keep, but I support the choice to keep a tune secret.

However, I thank the guys who do share and make it possible for a guy like me to go fast. Without them "voluntarily" sharing not only their setups, but their techniques and approaches, this community wouldn't be what it is today. 👍

At the same time, the best thing about the new replay tools is that we can do more events without tuning... which are my favorites by far. 👍 👍

And I understand this. I also think this is to protect ones sense of competition. There are those that feel if they post their setup, it will give other drivers an edge to beat them. I fully understand this and respect their hesitancy to post their setup during the run of an event.

However, once the event is over, there is nothing to be gained by keeping the setup secret.

Just a thought. Similar to having to have your engine tore down after winning, or having to sell your engine in a claimer division. I just think it would add an element that we don't have right now.

I can fully understand this and agree with it......but only after the event is over. I don't post my tunes for the exact reason in your first paragraph. Not to sound harsh or like some great tuner, but I feel that my tuning is what gives me an edge over the competitors in my division. You see, a while back, I took the time to learn how to tune from some of the best and most knowledgable tuners in these forums. Between the knowledge that I have gained from others (them teaching me how to tune and not just giving me a tune) plus my own little tricks to get the car to fit my driving style, its the edge I need to stay competitive. Sometimes I put a great amount of time into a tune and I just don't feel like handing it over to someone during a competition after I went ahead and done all the work.

I have no problem though giving it out after the event is done and even answering questions as to why I tuned the car the way I did. Hell, I'll even teach someone how to tune if they ask. So again, not saying I'm some great tuner or anything, but I'd like to think my tuning is good enough to net me positive results over my competition.

Mitch, maybe you could share "some" of you're knowledge like your mentor's did for you? 💡

Pretty sure that I said that I would do just that.

" Hell, I'll even teach someone how to tune if they ask." Quoted from above.

Anything you wanna know Gayle or need help with, all you have to do is ask me. Like I said, I have no problem at all sharing what was taught to me. 👍

I do a lot tunning in my private lounge (when tune is needed) and it feel kind of dummy to give all your hard work to away.
Tunes are kind of personal thing because we all have different driving style etc.
When someone send his/her tune to thread i usually compare it to mine. It has been only few times that others tune work for me. I have to make my own tunes anyway but it sure helps when someone share his/her tune and you can compared it to yours.

I had give my tunes to someone only 3-5 times. Once someone ask my tune and said he will give his tune but that never did happen. So i've been cheated...

Guys - The intent of this was to ensure our registry is clean, catch anyone cheating.

A secondary benefit has been the freedom to set up cars as we choose for a given week, in terms of added parts.

We have not intention of using it to disclose a tune that a member elected to keep private, or anything else along those lines.

I think you'll find that in general, the best tuners with the "fastest" tunes are already sharing them in the thread each week. Yes, there will be exceptions here or there, but I would say they are rare, making most of this discussion a moot point.

I would just like to be able to do my own tunes and not to have to rely on some else tune. Fact is doing you're own tunes is half the fun, proving you can do a decent tune.!! :sly:
