Don't think there will be an update on february.
But still here it goes:
  • Nissan gtr '07 (leaked list, another gtr so easier to make)
  • Volvo or Skoda race car (gr1 or 3 for skoda, gr3 or 4 for volvo)
  • Another EV...

I predict this will actually be an "Early March" update to coincide with the 3rd year anniversary of the game. Otherwise to join the "big" update hype:

Circuit:
Twin Ring Motegi (Apparently under development, I'm picking this to go against the grain of everyone saying Pikes Peak)

Cars:
Nissan R390 GTI (Endless doom pick that could very well arrive one year after the GT-One)
Audi Quattro SI (datamine)
Mazda Autozam AZ-1 (datamine)
Tesla Cybertruck (not a fan, but I have a feeling this is coming eventually)

My prediction for February:

Track:
Motegi, we had the hint since long so why not in february?

Cars:
As always, three or four, I'll go for three this time especially if we have a one month span between updates.
One for UCD, one for LCD and one for Brand Central.
  • I'll go for an american car for UCD, why not the Corvette C5
  • For the LCD, I'll stick with my BMW 507 prediction
  • For Brand Central, Honda Civic FL4

I'm not against one more surpise, a truck or a bus.

Here's how I currently look at roster additions:
  • Race cars that are not PD-original (Mazda3 Gr.4, F3500) generally need some real-world achievements. You've all heard my reasoning on this before, but the pattern is PD would much rather reach back for something like the V12 LMR because it won rather than take something like the BMW M that is current but hasn't done anything IRL yet.
  • Road cars generally fit into a few categories: Cars that extend the generational timeline of important models, weird/unique cars from brands PD have a good relationship with, popular standalone cars that generally have appeared in other games first (again unless they are Toyota/Suzuki/Porsche/Tesla), and generally-American classic cars. Not every car fits in these buckets (the RUF RGT for example), but 90% do.
  • There's also the the SEMA/Pebble Beach/VGT guaranteed additions to consider
I seem to like spending time on tables that go through each update recently, so let's plot that out:

What does that mean? I have no idea yet, and I'm going to wait until at least the next GTWS exhibition schedule to make an actual prediction. But there's some data for you all, to help you out with yours.
Very informative! But I feel like some of the "other" additions could be lumped in with the American classics to just create a "classics" category. I wouldn't say there's as much of a particular focus on just the American ones in the updates.

Ok, I have a couple-few (tm) predictions . . . but I think this will hit in March rather than February. Feel free to delete if this is out of order.

1) Buick Grand National/GNX. As I recall, this is in the datamine list. It would also go quite nicely in a Muscle Car Extra Menu with other classics. Super Bee anyone?

2:
  • BMW M1 '79 - Europe, Road, Legends, All-New (and high on our Suggestions forum list)
OMG I WOULD _______ MY ________ AND CHARGE _____ ON O.F. IF THIS HAPPENED. That said, it would make sense for the reasons Famine provided.

The third and last one would be bittersweet for me.

With this being the third anniversary (again, I assume this goes past the end of Feb and into March) the biggest . . . and unexpected . . . thing would be: Track Editor. It is the one feature I miss from previous games the most.

Reasoning: This is a big third anniversary of the game. This would also address (though not successfully) the continued requests for a new track. It would be a gigantic sendoff/celebration of the most successful (debatable, I know) GT to date.

The sad portion of this is I can see this being a sunset for new tracks being added to the game. With a track editor, you can create tons of new circuits to drive. One key hurdle would be making it equal among PS4/5 owners, and that may be why it hasn't happened yet.

I don't think I have anything else to go on for preditions.

I can’t see this happening at all. With the amount of effort Polyphony put into creating Eiger I can’t see how they can make a track editor, that is user friendly, that will create an end product, to be useable by the player that doesn’t make it look like a cartoon.

The ones in GT6 were barely passable - maybe if you were drunk they didn’t look out of place!

I haven't done one of these in a while, but I feel like predicting.

I'm thinking if it's a new track, it might actually be Pikes Peak this time due to PD still having that license and it's been really long into the game's lifecycle at this point. 2nd guess would be Red Rock Valley based on past information mentioning Red Rock Valley being a possibility.

If Pikes Peak Hillclimb is added in this update, I imagine a series of challenges being added related to the track. Could be a special time trial challenge like how there were similar things added in GT6 (Sierra Time Rally) and GT Sport (Lewis Hamilton Time Trials). Going further, there will be certain cars being used for this challenge.

Also, some new Pikes Peak scapes based on a past render I've seen PD use when promoting a past update. I imagined the scapes just weren't released yet as they weren't finished and are saving them for a big update. Which could be this one.

For cars:
1. Pikes Peak Hillclimb car for the update (I'll say the Peugeot 208 T16 Hillclimb Car).
2. 2006 Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi, it's been a while since we last got a Subaru added to GT and since PD added both a Lancer Evo VIII and IX MR. I'm going to guess one iteration of the Hawk-eye STi will get added either now or at some point.
3. 1998 Mazda Roadster 1.8 RS (shown in the datamine) and Polyphony has added some Mazdas before in updates. Albeit newer cars, but still.

Since the update will have "a lot to talk about" I'm guessing it will be a big one - maybe "Spec III" with some new features. Last time we got weekly challenges so perhaps this time we'll get an endurance championship or B-spec mode. Or maybe something nobody could predict - who knows!

I reckon we'll get a track and a higher-than-usual car count. The last two tracks added were a snow circuit and a twisty road course respectively, so I'm guessing it will be something in complete contrast to those. Motegi is certainly a high possibility as it is so closely associated with past GT games, but I'm going to get very speculative and suggest that maybe we'll get Special Stage Route X's long-rumoured infield layout? It would be the perfect setting for all those futuristic VGTs and idk, I just think a track set in a military base that's not just a big oval would be really interesting and refreshingly different.

As for cars, well I think it's very likely there'll be some kind of returning GT legend car. The R390 GT1 is most likely as PD have a good relationship with Nissan and it feels inevitable after the GT-ONE and the Castrol NSX.

The big updates tend to be where PD adds the really in-demand cars that they know will be popular additions. I'd say the BMW M1 '79, Corvette (C5) Z06 '04, Mercedes AMG-ONE '22 all have a good chance. The other car slots will probably go to datamine cars that are duplicates or filling gaps - probably the NB or NC Mazda Roadster, the '91 RX-7, or the 2011-2013 Impreza WRX STi.

I think there'll be at least one totally random thing that nobody saw coming. Mitsubishi FTO maybe? Those Japanese FF events are very Civic-heavy, it would make sense to add some variety in that category.

Let's seriously think about Pikes Peak though. Some arguments why it's possible:
1. Definitely fits the "somethining to talk about". I'm sure a lot of people will be really happy about it, but people, who prefer racing their Gr3 and Gr1 and waiting for more real-world race tracks, will probably not be so happy.
2. Obviously, PD's exclusive license for Pikes Peak seems like a guarantee the track is gonna appear.
3. We have plenty of Pikes Peak cars in game and they even have a separate subcategory.
4. That one Scape we saw when Suzuki VGT was announced. The same Scape was also featured in their media post about Audi Sport quattro Pikes Peak car. Usually, when PD add a track, in the same update Scapes with that track get added, so maybe that one Scape is just waiting for the track? They even had a chance to add it in their Colorado pack a couple of updates ago, but it's not there.
5. That whole Hyundai collaboration, which so far only gave us a car (with Pikes Peak visual modifications).

But there are also reasons to doubt all that:
1. GT7 is not GT Sport, but eSports is still a big thing, championships are still going on, and you can't really use Pikes Peak for any of that. Not only it's point-to-point, but also pretty narrow to overtake. So would they spend a lot of time working on a track which won't be usable in that aspect, rather than something more traditional?
2. "Never say never", but they got the license even before GT Sport was released, it's been over 8 years at this point. And yet, it was never properly hinted at by PD. They keep dancing around it, saying Pikes Peak this and Pikes Peak that, but nothing even remotely like "look forward to try it yourself in the game in the future!". That track was also never mentioned in any datamine, as far as we know, so it doesn't look like they are working on it (unlike Lake Lousie, for example).
3. Regarding the Scape, I think it's possible they for some reason only have one from there and simply forgot to add it. Or maybe not even planning to add it, they have a rich history of keeping insane photomode locations to themselves.
4. How exactly would they even implement it? Current rally tracks have invisible walls and mesh-looking concrete barriers all around, something like that for Pikes Peak is not going to feel right. And does GT7's physics takes elevation changes into consideration when calculating car's performance? Basically, I'm not sure if current game design choices work with that track.
5. Similar to 3rd point, but that whole Hyundai collab technically already happened last summer during the event (?). And if the track is actually coming out now, it should've been already in the works when the collab happened. Would make perfect sense to do some sort of a tease during the collab, however, didn't happen.

I'll say, knowing how PD is, it would not surprise me at all if:
  • Pikes Peak was a 1 car course. Perhaps having only one car would let them use the hardware for more visual assets or required because of the course length.
  • The only event for it is a Mission. You could still do a Time Trial on it like other courses, but there won't be like Pikes Peak FR or Pikes Peak Porsche etc.
  • There is only the modern paved version.
  • There is not a reverse option.
  • They would use it in the eSports events to "simulate" the actual event i.e. each player makes a run to set a time. Whoever has best time wins.

If it's at max, seven cars, much like with Spec II, here's what I'll go for:

Cars:
  1. BMW M1 '81 - Legend Cars
  2. Bugatti Divo '19 - Brand Central
  3. Ferrari 499P '23 (Gr. 1) - Brand Central
  4. Honda Civic Type R (FD2) '08 - Brand Central
  5. Mazda Autozam AZ-1 '92 - Used Cars
  6. Mercedes-AMG One '22 - Brand Central
  7. Toyota Chaser Tourer V '96 - Used Cars
A mix of special highly-requested vehicles and those seen on the museum entries of Brand Central, to make the update truly special.

Track: Pikes Peak International Hillclimb (no confirmation, but it seems to be hyped a lot)

Three years are usually not considered a milestone. Some people expected the same last year. I don’t think PD will celebrate anything until the franchise turns 30 years.

Considering that the next update will be “very talked about”, we will probably have a new clue.

So, I think we should have among the options: Tokyo R246, Red Rock Valley, Albert Park or Montreal, which were tracks that somehow appeared in mined files, as well as Motegi, which was suggested by a Super GT driver. If we want to be even more hopeful, perhaps Shanghai, about which Kaz, in 2016, said that one day he would like to add it to a GT game.

As for cars, I would bet on some street cars from that leaked list from dataminers, like the Ferrari Superfast. Perhaps the Nissan R390 GT1 '98, Toyota Minolta 88C-V '89 or BMW M5 GTR Race car '01, iconic cars from the franchise. And being very optimistic, the Porsche 963, as PD has a good relationship with the German automaker.

In any case, a racing car must appear to make up the Gr1, Gr2 or Gr3 squad.

For car #100 I predict the Renault Espace F1. There were reports a while ago that PD has been to the museum it's at to scan and photograph the car. It would be a piece of automotive history as well as a fan favorite ever since Gran Turismo 2.

As for the "will be much discussed" thing, I think the update itself will be different than "just" new cars or "just" a new track. There will be a new major feature in the game, or a new car manufacturer, or a big package of new models for an existing manufacturer, e.g. Škoda.

Going to go a bit left field here but my prediction is:
  • Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar
    • European Racecar
  • Toyota Prius '16
    • Japanese BC car to add to existing Prius line
  • Mitsubishi FTO GPX '94
    • Japanese UCD returning car
  • Bertone/AutoBianchi A112 Runabout '24
    • European new but a nod to the Pebble Beach winning car
And then a new track to be: Apricot Hill

I guess that we'll see Mobility Resort Motegi then, as the timeframe of 9 months from the "announced" scan seems to fit with the previous time between tracks (unless it takes more, such as two years and they started working on each track at 9 months intervals).

For the cars, something that will get people talking might not be necessarily for good reasons, maybe controversial even outside GT community, such as the return of the Kubelwagen from GT5.

So, shooting 5 names in the dark, I expect
  • Corvette C5 because the gap needs to be filled and I will eventually predict it until it comes
  • Toyota Yaris MkI, a staple of previous Gran Turismos with its dedicated Vitz Cup
  • VW Kubelwagen as an extremly odd ball
  • AZ Autozam because it is a highly requested vehicle and would complete the ABC trio
  • Mazda MX-5 NB for the reasons of completing a generational gap.

The only thing I am 100% certain, though, is a Citroen menu or a VGT menu, as yesterday I accidentally sold my last GT by Citroen while getting money to buy the 55 Merc...

And then a new track to be: Apricot Hill
Now this is something I'll definitely get behind. The shape was shown in teasers already before the release, together with Deep Forest that made it in so Apricot Hill is almost certainly coming at some point. While it's structurally a rearranged Suzuka (double apex first corner, rolling esses, hairpin, chicane to home straight) and Kyoto is largely a reboot of the same idea, it would still have a deserved place in the roster.

I think we'll see Sophy added to additional tracks. If I had to push my luck a bit, maybe we'll get an expansion of Sophy's abilities on a limited amount of tracks. Things like longer race lengths, standing starts, endurance racing... etc.

They’ve been doing this for a while now it’s almost a given in each update. If they keep going at this rate they’ll finish the rest by March 2026 (if no new tracks are added)

Posting this prediction from November:

Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Strassenversion '97 <---- Historic/important to the brand and new + PD have worked with AMG before and this is a no brainer, is also technically closing a generation gap as it's the LMs older sibling and would finally complete the GT1 holy trinity.
Nissan Z Nismo '24 <---- New(er) and ties in with PD's Nissan partnership
Renault Espace F1 '94 <--- Seems to be hinted at and is quirky enough to be something PD would add.
Nissan R390 GT1 '98 <--- Even though it didn't win at Le Mans it's iconic to the GT brand in the same way the GT-ONE and Escudo are.

Tracks:
No new ones

Events:

Hypercar parade - 5 laps Spa 24 hours

Race of turbo sportscars - Tokyo Expressway 5 laps

Schwarzwald League - La Sarthe classic -2 Laps

Menu books:

Vanlife: Collect the Renault Espace F1, Toyota Hiace and Volkswagen Sambabus. 6*

90's GT1 Homologation: Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Strassenversion, Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion, McLaren F1

Because PD added the C-HR and Civic EF3 and just because Honda added this on their YouTube channel.

Last time we got FF cars in an update it was Update 1.48 with a Civic and Volvo. Before that it was Update 1.38 with two Civics and the GR.4 Mazda3. We’ve had back to back Toyotas, Nissans, Porsches and even Suzukis, but we haven’t had back to back Hondas. PD adding the first FF coupe(and a nineties coupe at that) to the game and something other than a Civic, appears ripe as PD are digging in the crates of iconic sports coupes recently(E36 M3, Chevelle 454, Skyline R31, ‘69 Charger). The Prelude got a major overhaul and step up when the H22A arrived in the BB1 Prelude.

I know there were little whispers about the Fiat Coupe ‘00 from the datamine, but the Prelude seems just as plausible as any FF coupe from the nineties.

Next up is due to the GT Manufacturers season coming up. The exhibition events end on February 16. This leaves the end of the month a good time to add a new entry for one of the manufacturer choices. BMW already have four choices and PD will add a fifth. The M4 GT3 will finally get a chance to prove is winning ways in GT7.
In its 2023 Spa-Francorchamps 24 hour race winning livery. That race was BMWs 25th race win at the Spa 24H and marks a nice entry for a special car to be added to the game. Not to mention a chance for those that chose BMW would be able to switch to the latest car.
As much as it would be cool for the M4 road car to be added at the same time, I’m not seeing it. However, … I am seeing one of the datamine BMW 02 series to be added. Namely the new to the Gran Turismo franchise 1975 2002 Tii.

That’s it from me. An update of 2-door coupés.

The Gran Turismo 7 February Update: Three New Cars and Other Stuffs
  • Honda Prelude Si 4WS ‘91
  • GR.3 BMW M4 GT3 Rowe Racing #98 ‘23
  • BMW 2002 Tii ‘75

What if it's not the Prelude I'm predicting?

PD have added road car prototypes in the past and we have the current AFEELA in the car list. It'd make for good publicity placing it in GT7.
