Funny enough, I'm pretty sure most of the current trends regarding overfenders and body kits originated from a modified GT-R.

Specifically the Bensopra GT-R, way back in October 2011.

All the warning signs were right there in front of us, although in significantly better execution: rear-mounted spoiler, bolt-on flares, cutaways in the flares to left air out, etc.

That last one is probably on air and meant to sit on the ground, with as bad as the front wheels look.

I do like some of the wide body GT-Rs, it's just that they're too commonplace nowadays and I tend to get annoyed with things that are overly popular. Back before the craze started, I was in love with the Rocket Bunny S13, but I think it's lost a lot of its timelessness now.

@ProjectWHaT I didn't know southern roots was also a track event as well. I probably would of made the attempt to go just for that.

Like the pictures on your flickr alot.
It's not, it just happened to happen at the track while Binge Tokyo had an event there. I was invited to shoot for Binge Tokyo on the track. :D

Water by the Bridge (a Euro show) is happening on Saturday in Louisville but it's supposed to rain all day.

1954 Abarth-Alfa Romeo 2000 Coupe Ghia, body styled by Giovanni Savonuzzi* and set atop an Alfa Romeo 1900 Berlina chassis by Autotecnica Conrero before being fitted with an Abarth-tuned 2-liter four.

Prominent are the trademark Ghia "gaping maw" with Alfa's distinctive triangular center grill, headlight and taillight bezels purloined from the previous year's Buick model line and side-hinged hatch.

Sadly, the single example prepared by Conrero for the Turin and Paris shows has vanished.

*The prolific Savonuzzi is also responsible for other iconic cars such as the Cisitalia 202, Ghia's "Supersonic" line (for Fiat 8Vs, three Jaguar XK120s, an Aston Martin DB2/4 and a special example fitted onto a DeSoto chassis as the basis for the company's "Adventurer II" concept) and is perhaps most famous for the Ghia Gilda turbine car (which was never so equipped by Ghia).
