Japspeed Impreza has been spotted several times since being stolen from Santa Pod.

Hopefully the police catch up to this at some point before it gets wrecked, I don't know what the thieves plan on doing with it, they certainly won't be able to get it out the country now if they want to keep it.

That VW on Porsche wheels.....stretched tires on wheels that don't have good fitment = fail.
Fitment on that car would be sketchy business. You can't roll or flare a carbon fiber fender and place it where you need it to fit.

It looks like its fitting pretty snugly behind the fender anyway. If he's going for "tuck" rather than "HELLAFLUSH!!!".

So a few minutes ago Japspeed have confirmed that it's been found and returned to them. Apparently it was found as they were starting to strip it down, the thieves only got the wing off though, everything else is still A-OK.

If by "snugly" you mean "and inch of gap to the fender" then yeah, they fit pretty snugly.

It didn't need stretched tires to fit, but if the stretched tire look is what he wanted, he should have gotten some spacers to pull it off, or better yet, find some wheels that fit well in the first place.

Obviously he knows how it's done, since he did it on the back of the car.

Also, Keef. I'm pretty sure the carbon fiber is a wrap, since the ENTIRE car has it.

There's no way it's a wrap. This is a CF wrap:

I spotted a sticker to this site on the car: http://www.rs-carbon.hu/

I can't understand a word of it but judging from the pictures that car is real carbon.
Google translate did the hard work for me.

"karbonnal lamination!"

It's a wrap.

Also, R1600Turbo, do you not think that replacing a quarter panel (structural) part of a car with carbon fiber is much less plausible than making a carbon fiber wrap that is shiny?

The one you posted is supposed to replicate dry carbon like you would see on a race car. The real stuff basically.

The golf is supposed to look nice, that is all.

It's a wrap.
Let's be more specific. It's not a vinyl wrap, like what everybody imagines when they hear the word "wrap". It's a carbon fiber wrap.

This is more obvious that it's a real carbon fiber wrap, and not a CF-lookalike vinyl wrap.

That pic is awesome! And the Vulcan salute decal is pretty cool too, better then the played out shocker.

Just pointed out what I thought he was talking about. Some people like the look over the benefit of actual Carbon Fiber. I for one prefer having the real thing as a solid object, not a wrap.

The Golf is over done.

Is there really much of a difference between the two, except maybe with the real wrap you can feel like less of a liar when you tell someone it's carbon fiber.

Why even do a wrap if yo can't have the real thing. For looks that's an expensive proposition and one that says you've got too much money on your hands and really don't know how to spend it correctly.
With that money spent on wrapping that Golf all over I could've made one heck of a mean street/ track car that would be quite competitive rather than hard parking something because you've got money to burn.
Granted the car looks phenomenal but that's as far as it goes with the wrap.
