The Fronts were done much better than the rears. If the rears blended with the shape of the quarter panel more I think it'd look better. Also needs 1" wider rims in the back.

All these pics are by a friend of mine, he owns the LS400. He also has a slick 2JZ IS300, which is now getting a turbo LS swap.

Some companies offered turbo kits for the 2JZGE, but most FI people just shove a GTE in there.

That's what I read as well, but the GE isn't as good with forced induction as the GTE and it's near impossible to make power while staying normally aspirated.

Saw one a few weeks ago around here with an LS2 swap... Probably the easiest way to go as far as bang for buck.

Is that a swapped IS300? Thought they came with a non-turbo version of the 2J anyway.

Love the plate BTW.

Nah, not swapped. I thought it was, but I just went over the old spec sheet he sent me a while ago

Plans now are for a 377ci LS1 with a gt4202 turbo.

Pretty soon the cool swap to do are going to NOT involve an LSx. Everybody and their mother will have one.

Haha, yeah. He's only doing it cause hes bored of the 2JZ, and wants more power to play with.

I assume he wants more "usable" power to play with. 2JZs usually have the "moar powah" part covered.

No idea, I do believe he's owned the car since 2005 or so. Probably just wants to change it up.

Does it even run anymore? Last I read, that IS has been down for a while & he's always out in his LS. He's a bit of...a weird one, too.

I'm not sure why they haven't brought the 1 series hatch to the US yet. I was talking to one of the BMW service techs at work the other day and he said something about bmw bringing over some FWD hatchback instead sometime the next few years. I had figured the mini filled that role well enough but I guess not?

BMW is making a front-drive model at some stage but I'm not sure when - I assumed it'd be the brand new 1-Series, but as far as I'm aware that model is still RWD, and basically a development of the current model.

You never know, the USA might get the brand new 1er. I'm sure it'd sell without much difficulty.

Actually the 1 series doesn't seem to be very popular here. Its priced to close to the 3 series from what I understand. I had a brief conversation to one of the salesmen and he said he has only sold 3 1 series thusfar this year. I think the coupe is a very attractive car so I was a bit surprised by that.

I'm a big fan of the coupe too. There's more of a price difference over here, but then the hatch is cheaper than the coupe also, so that makes it much better value.
