not exactly import related, but a guy on StanceWorks finished this painting and i thought that all of you guys would like it...

A GT-R engine in that 370z would do nothing but weigh down the front end, move the weight balance of the car forward, and the center of gravity up. It's not a good idea by any means. Inline 6 with an iron block....

An LS, while completely unnecessary, could actually retain all these things while providing more power, since it's still a V layout engine with an aluminum block.

Having that said, the stock engine is more than capable.

I would have thought you guys were talking about the 3.8L twin turbo from the new GTR, which would be sick.. but an RB swap would just be moving backwards.. but speaking of

I thought you were talking the 3.8 also. I just think the personality and noise of the LS would suit the car, based on it's styling. Well at least the 370Z posted, that thing is super badass.

since this is slightly on topic, this 350

and HERE is the build thread. Edafe basically teaches you how to build an Ls1 step by step in that thread. He also reviews a new beer before he gets onto the engine building, so that's just an added bonus for reading.

That Z is so win. I don't see why people hate on the LS swaps, they're done for a reason.

Cheap, reliable, parts are everywhere, they're pretty lightweight.. etc.

I think they're only hated because they're common.

I can't wait to get my Studebaker project started, so many people are gonna hate on me for it. :D

Ontopic:

This Lotus 7 showed up at the local car meet last night.

guys on bimmerforums.com were calling that first one "rice". are you kidding me?! it's been converted to M3 spec and then some, and with that wheel and tire setup it definitely means some business.

It's not an M3? Maybe the red mirrors are "rice" to them.

Meaty tires > Stance crap any day. 👍

Maybe not rice, but some some reason it doesn't flow well at all. It almost looks like a photoshop. It's a bunch of nice parts but the end result looks strange, and I can't put my finger on what it is.

EDIT: I think it might have something to do with how the car is "low" as far as wheel gap goes, or at least at a proper ride height, but it looks like a 4x4 as far as ground clearance goes. The tires don't have especially big sidewalls either, and the wheels don't look to big for the car, but it's just weird looking.
