And here it is....

"If I'm looking at this correctly, this is how they achieved drive to the front wheels with a low-crankshaft height engine between the front wheels."

"The semi-automatic gearbox used in the Calibra was developed in coopeation with the Williams F1 team, using parts of their F1 gearbox/gear change system."

Geared hubs.

Next time you look at a Humvee/H1 or a Unimog, try and find the axles. Those offroad trucks use the same type of geared hubs, mounted vertically for more drivetrain ground clearance.

Those look good as well, but the photography completely kills it for me - I spend too much time behind a camera I think

The black one, genius..

Because that was so very clear from your post, genius

Fun fact - my friend's car is faster despite being an inferior USDM M3. The black m3 above is just lowered with LMS and an K&N intake. Serious perfection right there

I've seen lot of E36 M3s on forums with those wheels. WHy are they so popular with E36 M3s?

The Kosei K1 is fairly cheap for how light it is, and thus a popular option for people intending to Auto-X or track their cars. And on some setups, they look fairly good - with my friend's car, they let the brakes get plenty of attention ;)

My Kosei K1s (15x7) weigh like 12lbs and would be around $120ea, new. So yeah.

@TA: Yeah, helmet clearance sucks. I have a sunroof, so its worse than a hardtop car. Would have much rather had a hardtop for weight savings and a little more headroom.

la, la la laaaa

This thing just participated in Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week, in the Unlimited class. Best E.T of the week was 9.33, average over the entire week was 10.31. I'd say that is slow for such a blower and tires, but who knows if the car was tested and well-tuned. It still looks freaking mean.

Wait to ruin a nice Datsun.

That's pretty awesome if you ask me, unless you were being sarcastic. Ruining a car is really about not using or doing useless things to it in my opinion, and that one in the picture is clearly being used with quite a good purpose.

it's a real '73 240Z; I have no idea what setup the guy is running, as they didin't publish specs of the cars in the website; we'll have to wait for the mag to hit the stands in order to see what was under the hood. It should be around in some forum or something, but I'm too lazy to look for it.

Enjoy the car instead..

What's wrong with that? Looks really good :dopey:

Saying "best VQ35 in the world" is like saying "best strain of salmonella in the world".

Remember the HPA R32 from GT4? Granted the owner changed the stickers, but that is THE car that won the GT award at SEMA:
