1'37.7 Camaro

Don't know about you guys, but this looks great to me.
Other than the Camaro with the time being set in 2-3 laps, these times look great đź‘Ť

What would 'fix' the Camaro? Less power? Or are its gains mostly through cornering?

I'm just thinking that it would be a never ending battle. One car will be better than the rest at one track, and then could be one of the slowest in the next race. You make adjustments, then it a third car ends up being the fastest. On and on...
If that is how your attitude is going to be on trying to even the specs, your going to lose drivers. I'd suggest we all help Turbo to get this sorted.

You know, it might not even matter. Only one person is currently signed up for the Camaro and he said he was going to quit anyway. The car was just fine at Daytona, maybe it's fast at Indy, but then we bring it in line with new specs and kill it's pace at Laguna. This goes back to what I was saying earlier, there is certainly no way to get all these cars even for every track on the calendar without adjusting the BoP regs every week.

That is true, certain cars work better on certain tracks than others do, it's realistic atleast. We could change specs every round but honestly...

I wanted to keep the weight specs per IMSA rules.
It would be, use the Z28 weight specs and add some power... This is what I did the last two times. My series is 10 races long and we are in 6th race. Every car has run within .2 of each other at every track. However one thing I did different was use the non tunable Race suspension: soft. Fully adjustable differential though.. So far we have ran Daytona, Indianapolis, Leguna Seca , Grand Valley Speedway and Cape Ring South. Times ranged from 1:16.3 to 1:16.5. It can be done but tunable suspension makes it more difficult I think.. We also are running Race Hard tires and stock brakes... Cars have not been adjusted at any time this season.. Camaro, Mustang and Aston have all won races. Noone really fast driving in the BMW or 370z at the moment but the cars have ran the same times as the others... 13 drivers in the series and every make has podiumed... Just leave the cars alone and hope and pray no one fast gets in a Camaro lol.. See you guys on the track..

Kinda interested in this, been a while since I've raced (mostly due to the terrible servers) so I'm praying I can stay long enough to actually race with you guys. Thankfully, I have two cars I made with the real life series in mind so I'm stoked to see that I can either run my Yellow Mustang or my Hyundai Genesis the way I have it :)

Plus, I get to see how @R1600Turbo runs one of these (seeing as he's always avoided any of my series :lol:)

You probably just never had anything I was interested in. I don't typically do anything with higher powered cars or anything that's a pure race car because one of my gripes with GT is that the physics for race cars are not that great.

The problem with having anything less than full suspension is that you can't police it. I initially wanted to run on RH tires but after 10 laps or so on them I ditched that idea because I didn't like the way the cars felt. Also my goal was to make them run lap times very similar to the real cars and if we had run RH tires, I would have had to power limit the cars even more than they have been with the current specs.

Well all those times, I was using a controller so I didn't feel any damn thing :lol:

Actually, I remember you didn't want to be in a series of mine because you actually didn't like that I allowed the use of Traction control (or so I think).

Don't remember that, too long ago for my horrible memory. :P But yeah, I'd probably say the same thing today.

Funny how that works :grumpy::lol:

Well after spending some time with a wheel and comparing my driving against the Aids driving I've done with a controller, I'm now more confused as to why you seem to dislike it. As far as I can tell, its actually slower.

The way the cars are they ran 6 seconds faster then the real thing.. I didn't mind much that they were faster than the real thing as far as lap time goes.. As far as policing suspention I haven't had any issues. Run on honor system and everyone has followed the rules.. Anyway, I'm here for the long haul and am curious as to how this series will turn out.. I would also like your permission to use the builds you have come up with as a base for my next season if you aren't going to run it again after these 6 races. I'll tweak some cars of course and I'll have a full 10 race season. Other than that it would be the same.. I am curious though as to how you set up the sign ups with the cool pages etc... I would like to incorporate those things into my future series as well.. So far I have had a good time.. I tested the mini last night with default settings and compared it to others cars in ST. The mini is NOT the car that needs BOP in my opinion. I won't get into ST here as it seems since it is a short 6 race season it may not even matter so I'll let those chips fall were they may ;)

I do shorter series because I have experienced attendance drop off with series that are too long. You get a bunch of interest at the start, then by the time you get to race 8 half the people are still around. Honor system has also backfired on me in the past, people can tell you all day that they are running what you want them to run but people will cheat. That's why if it can't be policed, I run it. That includes full suspension and full drivetrain parts.

The Mini was 1.5 seconds faster per lap than everyone else at Daytona. I ran some laps in it last night and although it was 3mph faster at the start/finish line than my Honda, the Honda ran a faster lap time. So we'll see.

As someone who has spent countless hours trying to even up cars in Gran Turismo games, I'd like to say there's nothing more frustrating than seeing someone jump in the cars, have a go a one or two tracks, and start tearing the specs apart.
I haven't tested any of these cars, but the idea of "fixing" car specs based off a single track made me feel the need to mention this.

For example, GVS and Laguna Seca will favor exactly the same cars. Mid-Field and Willow Springs will favor the same cars, and Indy/Daytona Road will favor the same cars.
If a car is fastest at Laguna Seca and Daytona Road, there might be a problem.

@Giorgio_57 @Ramalhinho91 Updated the 370 specs to 322hp, 474pp

Camaro has been changed to Z/28 specs, weight is now 1,588kg (488pp) No current registrations for this car.

@WiiFreak Mini has been changed to 1,134kg (443pp) pretty sure you already made this change.
