Incentives for Seasonal Time Trials/Drift Trials

Just an idea so more people participate or become more competitive and invest more time in the TT's.

Because it looks like PD will never implement a leaderboard system for each track/car, Why doesn't PD implement a reward system for people who finish in the top 10, top 50, top 100, or top whatever in the time trials. With the winner getting something more lucrative. It could either be a rare car with a rare paint chip or a rare suit, or something! Iin my opinion, having the time trials as is doesn't offer enough of an incentive for most people to invest their time to get higher in the leaderboards. Bragging rights are great, and for me they are enough, but to get alot more people to join I think a tangible prize would have to be implemented.

I don't really see how this can be a difficult thing for PD as there are only two Time trials and two Drift trials every Seasonal.

What do you guys think? What kind of prizes can they offer should they implement it?

Meh, i wanted some sort of prize money before, and they added that, i wanted prize cars for seasonals, they added that.
I'm happy with what they've done so far. I wouldn't even come close to a top 100 anyone, i'm not very good at tuning.

But i see your point, even if they did add some prize money, i still probably wouldn't be bothered.

It will just make some people try harder to find exploits to get to the top, then the leaderboard will be pulled and we all start again.

A lot take their million and run..

Incentive for top something might get more driver running better times. As is though there is at least 60,000+ participants. I run a very slow lap each 1 st time to see about how many. Then do my runs. Usually 300-800 in standings. Depending on if I try a lot.

Good idea, I might try even harder with more. But if I'm on the visible leader board for a few I'm usually happy with that.

With regards to exploits, I don't think you can really get away with it as the top 10's replays are there for you to download. So regardless, the fastest guys would still probably be on top.

I just think that guys who are say, in the top 100 to 500 wouldn't really spend that much time bettering their times as there's no incentive for them to spend hours for nothing. Let's face it, once you're in the top 100, getting tenths of improvement from your time requires alot of play time. I think with a tangible prize, SOME might actually sit there for hours knowing full well it's not in vain.

I've always suggested that PD should run a TT involving a bone stock car that they provide ala the GTR Time trial. Some people (such as myself) are not tuners, so having a car that's provided gives a little piece of mind that it's all skill involved, and zero car.

I agree but I'm one of the ones that strives for improvement till the very end. Getting the gold isn't enough for me, I want that number 1 spot. Thats what drives me, the competitiveness of the whole thing. A prize would be cool, but it really isn't a deal breaker for me as I will still shoot for #1 either way.

Personally I think the system is fine as it is, I know I'm never going to place highly in any event but the prize money for the time involved is excellent, and especially so when you consider it doesn't advance the UCD in case there's a car you need but you don't have the cash.

Also offering prizes to the top however many seems unnecessary, if people are good enough to be in the top 10, 50 or 100 they won't need any incentive to do exactly that. Maybe there should be a small gift for just taking part, such as an engine/chassis/car refresh token, particularly as you can't actually earn them, but a gift car and 1 million credits for two drift trials or two laps is a bit much.

A car provided by them is a much better idea.

Eh, I know I'm not god enough to be in the top 100, let alone top 10. I generally just take the million and run :guilty: but I'm not against any idea like this as an extra incentive.
