Sure. I'll expand to touring cars and rallying.
I somewhat understand this guys' sentiment..I love drifting but I hate how it has been Americanized and mainstreamed..I hate that truly skilled drivers that wielded nearly stock bodied, sub 400hp corollas, s-chassis' and the like are now outshone by energy drink swilling, fitted hat wearing kids that think drifting is best expressed by tube frames, LS swaps, and reverse entries... I hate Formula D and I shudder to think that future gearheads will consider it the ultimate goal to further their motorsport career...all that being said, while I respect one's opinion about participation(or lack thereof) in a particular motorsport, to simply discount it as "not a motorsport" based upon personal bias is a borderline ignorant stance to take. Granted, it doesn't follow the standard formula of winner=whomever got there 1st or fastest, but it is a competition of who can do it best.. Surfing, figure skating, gymnastics, dressage, diving, martial art competitions, heck even breakdancing nowadays are sports that do not require someone to finish 1st or within the least amount of time, but rather are judged by how much the competitor shows off...With the exception of dressage, the lack of a finish line doesn't discount any of the above competitors as any less than athletes..so as this discussion continues about including mountain passes in GT6( which I wholeheartedly agree there should be, in the form of p2p courses with guardrails and such and barriers so that there is no implication that this is an acceptance of street racing) perhaps you should accept that drifting is not a motorsport...that you would participate in. At least that's how I feel about tractor pulls :-)

Well, if I were the one calling the shots at PD, I'd probably remove it.
GT5 is far from a perfect game but given your seemingly narrow view on what motorsport should or shouldn't be, I'd venture that a PD where you're "calling the shots", as it were, would've been a PD that never got past GT2.
