Post up your suggestions for inter-team challenges and races.
Hot laps, long races, what ever it may be.

Encourage all members to participate in as many races here as possible. Let's get in some good friendly competition between us all and get some practice in as well.

Possible criteriea for races could be something out of the ordinary from what we are used to racing. I'm sure that there might be some odd and possibly down right crazy races that will be done in the Board Challenge when it's go time.

In an effort to keep things organized, suggest a challenge in this thread and if it's a go, we will start a thread for that race when currently running races are completed (2 races running at a time max). Think of a deadline for race suggestions in the time frame of a week, or ten days at the most. Race suggestions will be qued and run in batches of 2.

Lotus and Der Alta.

You have both made some suggestions for some inter-team races. If you would like, go ahead and start a thread for them.

I will start one later when I have a time of my own to put with it ;) 😈

Good idea though we need to practice a variety of things including longer races, I'm sure some sicko will put an enduro in there :(

I have an idea to throw out there. We certainly don't have to do this any time soon, but keep it in mind as a possibility.

As there is certainly the chance of some enduro's to be run in the comp. How about this as a challenge?

Arcade mode "Professional" (10 lapper, not to horribly time consuming.)

The track: Grand Valley Raceway
The car: Fully modded Tickford Falcon

The reason: To get some halfway decent AI competitveness as well as some decent enduro practice as pit stops will be necessary at such a long track. The car, it's a pain in the ass. Could lead to some interesting set ups and test our tuning abilities trying to get this oversteering beast to act correctly. Could also promote good practice in throttle control.

What are your thoughts on this one?

I like the sound of it  sure I can handle 10 laps and Grand Valley I am more than familiar with 😈

I started my thread Boom, shall we do one at a time or we all just post a race each and take part in each others whenever we feel like it ? or have deadlines?

:D I'm all for the Evil understeering Tickford Boom...quite a challenging car to drive and extract decent times out of, plus I'm all for any races that actually challenge you with the A.I..makes it more interesting and adds an I-Link style flavour to it. Here's a handfull of races I've been playing around with simply because they (initially anyway!) make it challenging to actually win the race. They all can be won...some are easier than others but you do get a good race against the A.I. Try 'em out if you like.......

Race 1.
Buy yourself a fresh BMW 328ci, give it an oil change, add a semi-racing muffler, stage 2 NA tune, sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter Race 7 (Special Stage R11 – 2 laps) of the GT World Championship in the Beginner League.

Race 2.
Buy yourself a fresh Lancer Evo V GSR (J), give it an oil change, add a full racing muffler, sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows and the rear downforce, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Midfield II race (6 laps) in the Evolution Meeting, Amateur League.

Race 3.
Buy yourself a fresh Nissan GT-R V-Spec II (R34), give it an oil change, add sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows and the rear downforce, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Grand Valley race (3 laps) in the Race of Turbo Sports, Amateur League.

Race 4.
Buy yourself a fresh TVR Tuscan Speed 6, give it an oil change and T8 tyres. TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Rome II race (3 laps) in the European Championship, Amateur League.

Race 5.
Buy yourself a fresh Mustang SVT Cobra R, give it an oil change, add sports suspension and T8 tyres. You may adjust whatever settings that the sports suspension allows and the rear downforce, but TCS and ASM must be set to zero. Enter the Seattle II race (3 laps) in the American Championship, Amateur League.

Cheers ;)

So, are we ready to roll out another challenge yet? No pressure though. We don't have to kill ourselfs here, yet😈

We have a few suggestions out already, what do you all think? Der Alta has the SLK challenge that he mentioned earlier. Prancing Horse, do you have a favorite of your above mentioned challenges?

What are your thoughts lady and gentlemen?

I added an additional thought to the SLK challenge in a PM to Boom.

one of the guys that we'll be racing against has run that particular challenge, and it would be fair game to see how we stack up against him.

I'll post up that info in a new thread.

:) I'm going to have a shot at Der Alta's SLK challenge the minute I get a chance ...plus I want to have another shot at the Denso around Rome too! (Damn work and Real life :D ). If there was to be a favourite from the races I listed Boom, I guess it would have to be the Evo's around Midfield. The A.I. challenge you pretty much to whole race. I always try to run it contact free for a bit more of a challenge (minor paint swapping is ok though), you will find that they can give you a hard time every so often. To be honest I enjoy them all so see what everyone else thinks. :P

Cheers ;) :burnout:

In a recent challenge, I took a fully rigged TVR Speed Six on T2's around Apricot Hill 2. This car can easily separate great drivers from excellent drivers. Especially when I state that you have to run it without ASM & TCS = 0.

Knife edge throttle control, and patience unbound to control it. Wrong Way was all to often popping up in my view.

If you care to run this, My time was 1'19.312. And this was a "Time Trial legal" run. Two tires on the black bits at all times. Split times show 22.121, 49.750, 1'04.297.

Sukerkin ran that car around the hill in 1'17.482. Again, we will be racing him in the Boards challenge.

I don't fancy even attempting that one :P

Hey Alex, where are you doing all of these challenges?

What?? do you think my life is centered around GTP? I do visit and participate on other boards. Actually, I really don't....that's a sad state of my life...the only other board I'm registered on i've only got 80 or so posts and I've been there almost a year.

Anyways... There are a few of us around the web who race in a league called "The Windbaggers Racing League". We're a bunch of long winded GT3 enthusiasts who aim to help each other improve our racing skills through a forum medium. It's been quite fun, and the challenges usually run on a two week period. Which I find is an easier schedule for me.

not a high pressure league, just very open about seeing how good you can run.

I've got a few more in the wings and ready to go.

Ahhh...C'mon Lotus, you've just got to keep a big smile on your face as you run it. I logged close to 300 miles on that car and it really can be fun. Much like rubber shoes on an ice skating rink. When porpoerly applied, you can really move!

Yeah, well windbag :P I'll think about giving it a try but if I'm spinning all over I'll be exiting very quickly! 😈

Lotus,
Keep the faith, My first few complete runs were in the low 1:30 range. Throttle control is razor thin. Good luck.

And watch out for that left hander after the big sweeper following the hairpin.

And remember it's running backwards (2).

:D This one sounds fun to me Der Alta, I'll give a go as soon as I get the chance. Might take me a couple of days though..Torc 8 starts today plus real life is still pretty busy at the moment.
The Speed 6 is one of my favourite cars but Apricot Hill has never been one of my better tracks so it should be interesting.
Cheers ;)

I did try a few laps and managed a 1'21.4 before quickly moving on

 Couldn't help myself....ran some laps and whoa, what a beast on those T2's and no driver aids! Best lap so far -
T1 21.586 T2 48.552 T3 1:02.781 Total 1:17.737. Rekon there's 1:16's in it with the right set up ;)
Cheers :burnout:

This car car be such a beauty to drive, and often I felt like I was on using track shoes on an ice rink.

I think you are correct. With the right set-up, and skill there is a 1:16 in there. For you, yes...For me....If the planets align and I get a choir of angels to accompany me...

Yeah, of course. Got any suggestions?

I feel like I have cheated on my lover.

I've been playing alot of GTA3 VC. It's quite addictive. But I feel bad that I haven't played GT3 in a while.

We need a new comp. What do you guy's and gals think? Got any suggestions? Should we run some of the above races?

I'd still take part in some "team" events given time Boom...Torc 8 currently takes most of my 'GT3 time' after work but I should still be able to spare some time for something new with you guys and Gal :D Pick one at random and go for it!

:P Done deal...for simplicity this time around (coz 3 laps is easier when you are short of time!) I say we go the race 3 route. Its easier than Race 2, the AI should be easily beaten by all of us. ;)
