You mean the Anti-Banked turn #03?

And do you also mean overtaking on the outside of that turn?
I think the pass actually completes in Dunlop (up the inside), but setup at the exit of the Anti-Banked turn is critical to make it work.

One of my favorite places to pass the Clio, GTR, etc, but the pass needs to be set up in the turn prior.

Correct me if I'm misunderstanding this, guys.

Mr_GEEZ,

Was enjoying keeping you behind me till the punter sorted me out. :grumpy:

good defense 👍 but that guy was nasty! he didn't even brake when he send you flying,I had more luck with him at the chicane when he ghosted right through me and right between the barriers..

@ RudiRaser: that was close in the S-curve -> Anti Banked curve, side by side through almost whole section! "el grande cojones" Rudi!! 👍 :dopey:

Sounds good Vaxen:tup:

I tend to use the 'switchback' style move when you stay right to the inside on the anti-banked corner and then you can launch your car through dunlop on the inside at virtually full throttle. The high downforce setup or an Elise will usually work:tup:

I'll be in @ .47 chaps.
After last night I'm a bit paranoid about lag.
If anyone sees me leaping about laggy, please will you let me know?

Exit of that one yes, up the inside on 4. Same job does work on exit of 2 as well but more risky.

That GT06 is so wide at the rear it's a pain to pass and basically has you overbraking in the turns to avoid running into it and you really have to pass it in the turns as it's so fast on the straights it's a catch 22! ... what a crap heap car :P

At least it doesn't sound like a Morris Minor, like them poxy vipers :yuck:

Apology for Drama-Kyd for that breakmanouevre before the hairpin.
I stopped a bit after that only to punt the wall...
Trying to master the elise

Yeah, to say the least haha! I pulled over so everyone could catch up and all they did was continually punt me off, especially under braking. Oh well...there wasn't much action going on anyway. C ya.

Neonblue try using the brakes mate! they work wonders especially when at the chicane at the end of lap 1

but to just drive off afterwards is a tad nasty

Passing people around turns 2,3 & 4 are not impossible but it requires alot of faith on the person who you're overtaking to give room otherwise it can go pearshaped.

timeaattack07gt, let me first apologies for the bump on exit of Degner......but, when i go round corners i tend to look several cars in front and try to adjust my driving whether it's line or brakes if something untoward could possible happen, in that race i had to keep re-adjusting because of problems in front but also because it seemed you didn't give a care or see that far in front, you took a line and that was it, so i was constantly having to give extra brakes because you in the white Vette was coming through. I know from now on that your an aggressive driver:tup:

Damn Hugo! keep that little runty lotus away from me haha  was like a little bloomin terrier snapping at my heels :P

Cool that man ;)

sorry pentagram for hairpin.. and fellow racer in red vette from GTRP,i don't know how but I managed to push you off at the beggining then you disconnected..

heh - hard to beat =/= crapheap? :sly:

that's my sweetheart you're badmouthing there!

sorry mate, i rememer that. i was braking but i was carrying far to much speed at the time and i couldn't see the inside of the corner. i even moved left but it was to late. anyway i've got to say that i don't think i hace ever enjoyed playing Gran Tourismo as much as i have today. thanks to every one for a great day's racing and to anyone else i made contact with i apologise to you aswell. i am improving.👍

I was driving the white Viper...not Vette. Hell yea I'm an aggresive driver...especially in a 5 lap race with no qualifying order. You have to be aggressive if you want to work your way up the field to battle with the leaders. I don't at all try and deliberatly run people off the road or try and screw up other drivers races to benefit mine, but I'm not going to sit back behind a slow cornering car and let the leader run away, simply because I was forced to start in the back. We were seriously getting held up by the blue GT through the esses (DukeofPendle?)...I was getting rather frustrated watching the leaders slip away so I started closing the gap looking to get a run on the GT out of Degner leading to the hairpin. Btw, I use the chase view so I can see what's going on better in front of me than the drivers who use the bumper cam. I took Degner at close to a normal rate, with little adjustment to my line and speed. I probably left about a 5 foot gap in front of me to the GT, yet you ran me off as you didn't see what was really going on in front of you, or ME more importantly. Don't see how you can blame me for that one...had I not been there to use as a mobile armco you probably would have wound up in the sandpit :ill: Good racing otherwise...👍 I believe the start of that race was rather messy as well...I remember braking too early (trying to be overly friendly) at the first turn which caused a few problems. I apologize for that...

Some good races there guys, GTP_fantasmama[HU], there was no need to gift me that victory, you had earned it 👍

I noticed that when a draft is lost and field spread occurs then you really see the speed of certain drivers and cars. I caught Hugo fighting with SauberF1, then I decided to do some lawnmowing at Dunlop and had to re-catch. Didn't really get too close again to Sauber, maybe 1 or 2 secs max, but Hugo? In his little anklebiter Elise he managed to get 7 seconds clear in one and a half laps. Respect.

The award for move of the night has to go to Pentralalaseriouscat in his GT06, I did actually manage to pull off exactly the move that you guys are talking about, outside of turn 3/inside Dunlop, it does work and can be done. But P3nty, the way he took Degner 1.5 and speared me on the exit of Degner 2 was beautiful, I was actually laughing so hard I had to stop driving. I know it was totally accidental mate but it was hilarious. How did it happen??

:)

Oh by the way, Knilch said to pass on his apology when he ran into you at Degner 2 a few races earlier. Neither of us could get out of the way mate, je suis tres desolée.

All the best
Maz (Synwraith)

Well excuse me for participating. I do hate to be an inconvenience.

No need to get offended when all I was doing was pointing out the obvious. :indiff: It's too bad that starting positions are determined by luck of the draw, even when we are all at the same PP level. We need pre-race qualifying to REALLY aid in cleaning up and sorting out the race running order. That's the only way to be fair...Oh well, I'll keep dreaming for now lol.

Maybe you should re-label the event "Lower Division Drivers Need Not Apply".....

Desmo,

You did nothing wrong: Driving to the best of your ability through the esses is not a crime, and should be expected of any driver. You don't need to pull over or make room, and even attempting to through the esses can be dangerous.

That said, it can be frustrating when being held up in the curves. Some take this as an excuse to punt, but timeattack (and most clean and fast racers) will instead look for an opportunity to make the pass cleanly, and Dunlop is the first good place, barring a mistake by the driver up front.

No. All I originially said was that I was getting held up by you...that's it. There's no reason to blow my originial words out of porportion...implying that I made some type of insult toward you or your driving. Drop it please. 👍
