Welcome To
Check out the official real life series @www.gtopen.net
International GT OPEN features spec'd GT3/GT2/GT1 cars all within a shooting distance of eachother on track, including most if not all GT race cars in-game matched on pace with retaining unique characteristics of the cars. GT OPEN is an international series racing across the world of Gran Turismo at different venues of different lengths. Featured are road courses and permanent circuits, ranging from Japan to Italy all the way to the west coast of the United States! GT OPEN consists of a double race format with a qualifying session taking place race day before Race 1. Race 2 takes the results of the first and reverses the grid in order of finish; last starts first, and first starts last! GT OPEN's race lengths are determined by a time factor with approximately 45 minutes for each race (per race day)! Strategy and speed are an important factor in these races as tire usage is a tricky factor added in to spice the races up. All the information about the race's details are listed below in this first post. If there is anything that confuses you, just ask in the thread and your questions will be answered! Thank you for joining GT OPEN and hope to see you on track!

the official specs are subject to change after further testing and preseason races.

IGTO will visit each continent represented in game MINIMUM 3 rounds. Races will be of the rolling start (standing start race 2) procedure with lap count fixed to a certain time (~30-40 minutes). Race days will feature a double header at the same track with a reverse grid based on the results. Race length will be around 30-40 minutes each for a total period of about 1.5 hours including a qualifying session before the race (with at least 15 minutes to set your fast lap). Tires will be split compounds of SOFTS and MEDIUMS with both used per race! A minimum distance (varying by track) per tire compound will be set to level the competition. Qualifying tires will be the tires you start the race with. Like my 90s FIA GT W.C., we'll be having 'Continental Seasons' based on where the tracks are located. And after each 'Continental Season' I will balance cars further to level the playing field so as to keep everyone involved within a reasonable pace. We'll also do a preseason event at my created track- Eifelring (available to download on my shared tracks*).

Points Payouts and after race Info
IGTO may reward the championship winning car/driver with PSN game card and/or level ticket in addition to the top 3 championship placing cars/drivers with other in-game prizes such as level tickets and special paints. Races will consist of regular points payouts and bonus points for special achievements in-race and qualifying. A success ballast system and/or power limiter will also be in place after the 'Continental Season'. Points payouts are as follows;
Place Points-
1st. 20 2nd. 18 3rd. 16 4th. 14 5th. 12 6th. 10 7th. 9 8th. 8 9th. 7 10th. 6 11th. 5 12th. 4 13th. 3 14th. 2 15th. 1
Bonus Points-
Pole position. 2 bonus points
Fastest lap. 1 bonus point
Race wins. 2 bonus points (added at the end of the season)
I'll only allow 15 racers so if a spot is taken in the room by a non-participant the final guy can still enter.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
Signups and Interests
Interest in a certain car will be looked over by times set in a preseason race. Example; two users want the Audi R8, the driver who isn't faster may still get the car depending on their consistency and speed. A possible grading system for drivers may be used and slower cars may be given to faster drivers depending on positions placed in practice/preseason races. Any interest and feedback would be appreciated to figure out how the cars compete and what time/day to hold the races.
