Greetings from the California Central Coast!
Hello GTPlanet!
I'm excited to join this fantastic community of car enthusiasts and sim racing fans. My name is Mr. Wimmer, and cars have been a big part of our life journey, both professionally and personally.
By day, I own WIMMER'S AUTOMOTIVE, a family operated auto repair shop with roots dating back to 1964. Beyond the shop, I’m also proud to serve as the automotive instructor at Morro Bay High School, where I help the next generation of gearheads learn the ropes of car repair and maintenance. Sharing my passion for cars with students has been one of the most rewarding experiences.
On the weekends, I love getting behind the wheel, racing Miatas and other sports cars. Rally racing and 4x4 trips—like tackling the Rubicon Trail—are also big passions of mine. Whether it’s hugging corners on a track or navigating rugged trails, the thrill of driving always keeps me coming back for more.
Sim racing is another huge part of my life, and I race with a motion sim that brings the track to life. Recently, I’ve been able to share this passion with my 7-year-old son. Together, we built his first racing sim rig for GT7, and watching him dive into the world of racing has been a real highlight.
When we’re not racing or wrenching, you’ll likely find us enjoying family time or supporting local businesses. Looking forward to connecting with fellow car lovers, exchanging ideas, and diving into all the great discussions here. - How did you find GTPlanet? Searching for some assistance with how to complete races.. the formula weekly challenge which I attempted on softs, didn't end well...
- Where are you from? Wimbledon, UK
- When did you start playing racing games? Not sure, lots of F1 and a few GT's
- Do you play with a steering wheel? If so, what kind do you use? G29 Logitech on PS4, also use controller a lot.
- What other games do you enjoy? EAFC, Fortnite, F1.
- What are you most looking forward to doing in the community? Advice with events, advice for grinding to earn some big bucks and some online racing friends would be good, online lobbies with unknowns seem chaotic all the time!
