I really want to have a go at this, but templates don't seem to work in paint.net and I don't have any knowledge of plugins for GIMP 2 .. (which they do work in)

Anyone know of a working template for paint.net or do I need to use GIMP?

Anyone?

Damn, I mainly use paint.net as I'm accustomed to it now.. But as you said there should be plenty of tutorials as you said. 👍

Thanks to the two of you for helping.

I am having serious painters block thinking of designs for the Riley DP. I usually like to make designs based on the contour of the car. And lets be honest, the Riley DP looks like an old Scion xB to me lol.

Hmmm. You know, I think I can see the resemblance...

So would someone with the McLaren please be kind enough to test a skin for me? as I don't have the car..or iRacing:lol:

My main worry at the moment is the resolution of iRacing skins, and just how patterns, shapes, lines etc. wrap around the template. So I need an in-game screenshot to really understand how the painting system works

FYI, its an interpretation of the A Bathing Ape x Ferrari 458 GT3 on the McLaren.

On the subject of camo-painted McLarens, I saw at least one (I swear there were two) Speedhunters themed camo MP412s in my split of the Daytona 2.4. Looked great.

The paint just finished curing on my McLarens, and Javier dropped them off at Spa for me.

I guess it will have small adjustments throughout the season, as I am never 100% done with anything ;)

These two caught my attention at the 2.4 session I was watching:

You can downlaod the Red Bull one for free on the iRacing Forums. A lot of people seem to be using it now though.

Not so sure about the Repsol one though.

And nice paint scheme Erik. Once again make mine look terrible. :)

Guess this would be the right thread for this, so here go's. I uninstalled my old Trading Paints and then installed the new version. Now I only have one desktop icon. It only flashes briefly when double clicked on, that's it. I have no lists or options to choose from. Is this correct? Does it just do its thing when I start iRacing? Am I missing something? Sorry to seem so dolt, but help!

It should not flash like this. Go to the bottom right side of your windows bar and see if it is running or not.

It flashes a small widow and it does show a icon in the start menu. If I run my mouse over it it disappears. I can't find any options to select remove files after race and to start up with iRacing. I have none of my old desktops and express options. I'm stumped.

Before you needed to download every car you wanted to race or race together (multiclass) to see the paint jobs.

Today you don't have to have those 10-15GB of data stored on your hard drive.

You start the program, and you see a setup page, if you don't see it you can open the settings page from the right side of your task bar. (beside your clock)

Let the program run and join a iRacing session. Now the program start download all the cars in that session, no more and nothing less. You will see all the cars in that session. And if you're limited on space you can set it to auto delete the cars after you quit the session. Or you can keep them so if you race these guys regularly the "download-Loading texture" time will be shorter.

This way you will always see the guys latest work, even if you didn't "run" the trading paint program (like you used to) It runs all the time and keeps you updated automatically.

It's so easy people don't seem to believe it I guess. Because when the program is down beside your clock.. You don't have to worry about a thing. It just works ;)

I gotcha big guy. It's now working like a champ. I had two programs running in my task manager. Now I have my preferences to choose from. Very nice upgrade indeed. Thanks Erik.

Dude, the DP is the easiest thing to paint

Well, it is for me anyway.

It's easy because the template is simple. It's hard for me because I feel that the car lacks the kind of curvature that I like to make my paints with. I hope that makes sense.

Damn, that looks good! You draw all that yourself, or are you using pictures? Either way it looks awesome!

Mainly a picture but drawn a couple of bits myself.

Just finished the other side, hard bit over. Now to add sponsors and name ect

Edit: Finished
