Here is my paint for the InterContinental Motorsport. Joey made it and I just edited the colours. Love the paint, well done! :D

Finaly my Ford GT paint is done! Man what a task! By far the toughest car yet to paint!!! Hope you like it! Please give me feedback, both negatice and posetive feedback are welcome as long as it is constructive ^^
I tried to stay with the same theme that Joey had on the FW31.

I search a "Terry Labonte Kellogs #5" paint scheme, for the Impala B. Has somebody this scheme? :)

Have a look on the iRacing Forums when they are back up. I'm sure somebody has or will create this paint scheme for you if you ask nicely.

I really want to have a go at this, but templates don't seem to work in paint.net and I don't have any knowledge of plugins for GIMP 2 .. (which they do work in)

Anyone know of a working template for paint.net or do I need to use GIMP?

To celebrate purchasing the Williams FW31 I've made a replica 1993 Williams FW15 livery using the often-forgotten Sega/Sonic graphics :D

Cheers! I'm surprised how well the Sonic-legs graphic turned out. Not bad for a rough thrown-together attempt using the pencil tool in GIMP .

And thats funny, I prefer the black version. I always prefer lower numbers of different colours in paint schemes.
I think the white version is getting too cluttered and messy though it works better with the red.

Maybe try an all-white version?

I like the white version better 👍
You not going to run your Vodafone one anymore ?
Not sure if I'll be runing it anymore... You like the Vodafone? Let me know and I'll send it to you!

Well, these are actually for a 3 car team... Still missing the last one.

As sexy as that is Jav, (especially the grey, shame it doesn't show the decals up very well... Maybe put a white outline on the decals on the grey one??) I do prefer your Vodafone one. ;)

Here's my version of the Hexis MP4:
With thanks to Matthew Nethercote for the silver base colour and the write up that accompanied them.

I never did figure out what the roof logo was so I dropped in my own :)
I really do not want to ever discuss how long it took to make this - tons of google searches that started with 'how do I...(insert current problem).....in CS5' and the hood Motul logo still won't work as I wanted
If not for the new 'Ctrl-R' command I may never have finished it.
All that's left is to figure out how to make it shiny - Jav, yours look spectacular! Love the top one 👍

I don't know about Photoshop, but in GIMP you can get a shiny effect by using lighting.
On my helmet I got a kind of shiny/brushed metal effect by putting two light sources around the sides.

Another winner Ardius 👍
I'm still learning how to use GIMP properly and have made some real basic paints so far. Every time I try to do curved and angled lines they always end up looking jagged and rubbish, how do you get your lines so smooth ? I've tried recolouring some factory patterns to get some different lines/patterns happening but can't even do that right :grumpy:

Antialias, maybe a bit of blur but otherwise I don't do much with mine. iRacing itself does a pretty good job at cleaning up the textures and applying lighting so as long as you're not creating very large pixelatted lines it should be ok.

For example. the yellow curves in that Williams up there appear jagged when viewed in GIMP (at 200% zoom or more).
But when viewed in iRacing it looks fine partly because the lighting and processing effects but also because you never really get close enough with the camera to see any of the jaggies.

Thanks Dax 👍

@Ardius: I've tried playing with lighting effects, but I really don't understand how it works properly, however I may have another way to get a reflective silver paint 💡
Take shots of a VW Bus painted in silver chrome in GT5 and graft the sections onto the MP4 template. The roof or a side panel should be large enough to cut up properly without having shading / reflective sections running everywhere. I already tried it by painting an MP4 silver chrome, but it wasn't working due to all the curves in the car. The door and blade worked though, and it looked fantastic :D

Been more than a year since I've last visited this thread. With my return, I thought that I would share my latest creation. Currently working on a DP and HPD scheme for the other two cars I will be running S1.
