Welp....

So the race kinda fell down to me after guys dropped out of the lobby. A shame coz Xephos and Stigs especially were class of the field and the Audis edged out a fantastic gap to the rest of us, and Affliction (admittedly with me closing lap by lap after the 1st stint) could have took the win after those two ran into their own problems.

Initially I went with a relatively data absent RM stint and tried to figure out why low 3:18s weren't coming even with the IRS specs finally on the car. 1st lap, car twitched in Ford and ended up collecting gravel for teh kitty litter tray. A 4s gap turned into 14, and it just got worse due to the tyre deficit and the scorching pace of the Audis. Noir's PS4 sadly have out on him about half a lap in.

Took advantage of some trouble for Xeph and Stigs and ended up gaining places for a bit. A 19s gap started to decrease in the next stint as the RS tyres gave me 2s of pace over the RMs, and at the time Stigs recovered amazingly while Xephos decided the race had gone too far south too early for him to warrant continuing... FILO managed to wreck in this time too which gifted another slot.

GEA planning to snag the top 3 spots of the podium at the midway, with only Setted stopping me from being 3rd at the time. Stigs had trouble again which forced another stop and gave me 3rd, and then interference from some rando fernando's joining and leaving started throwing people out the room.

Stigs went...
Then Affliction disconnected seconds later... a shame coz the 3rd part if the race was approaching and I had 20 laps to pull a now 12s gap to 1st.

Few laps went by, and I pulled ahead of Setted for the lead. Guido joined to watch, with the returning offender Kermit hopping back in and out. Sinyster disconnected, followed instantly by a GTE car...

At this point, I was certain I'd be next. One lobby jitter, then two, then a third... soon there was a12s gap, last stop of the race, bolted on the RSS tyres and spent the last 8 laps going on a charge hoping the jitters would not freeze my game or kill my connection.

The last lap came around and I was still adamant I would DC... I even joked to @Antares26 that I would pull a disconnect just as I crossed the line, for the very last lap, signalling a PD equivalent to the fate of Nakajima in 2016 in his Toyota. Thankfully, I was able to bring the car around for 1 more lap to take chequered.

The best man didn't win in P1 Pro today, @StigsTC and @DaGiBUS sympathy to you my dudes. However, the man with the combo of the strongest focus and the most stable internet definitely did!

A faultess race if you dismiss lap 1, weathered the bad tyre choice and came good on pace thereafter. With the faultless race @Theaffliction had til the disconnect, I really wanted to see how the last phase would have played out.

I would talk about how my race went, but I can only sum it up as this.

My PS4 crashed hard twice in the two attempts we had to start the race, which is now my biggest worry that I didn't even mind not getting to race at all.

Still, it was tough watching everyone of my GEA mates fall victim to network troubles one by one. As much as I joked with @Storm_SP17 about doing a Nakajima, I was well aware that the possibility of it actually happening was always there.

Thankfully, it didn't. And now Storm gets to give our team its first win in the ARS/IRS LeMans 2.4H special event.

Needless to say I'll get all the troubles sorted out on my end for the next special event of IRS, whatever that may be.

Help, how has my world got to the point where I've got worse internet than you!!
Our boys went 1-2-3-4-5-7-8 in qual
Could never have imagined that we'd run DNF, DNF, DNF, 3rd, DNF, 1st, DNF.
Would have won on the 3 stop, should have won that even on the 4 stop, and with a mega run could have been in contention with the 5 stop, but 6 and then DC'd by Kermitnopermit joining was just the additional dash of salt to a pretty disappointing day.
Grats on the win, even if you did try to murder bambi right in front of me, I'll let you get away with it because we all managed to stay safe, not crash.

I gotta tell ya, the second half of that race when the room super unstable and stuttering... I had a huge screen freeze after the kink into Indianapolis. It’s a miracle I didn’t have to change my pants. Holy crap that room stuttering was bad.

Yea. More people joined and booted me as well.

Yeah I saw on Filo's stream. 4 guys so far got crashed for kermitnopermit and GTP_Guido joining the lobby.

Oh man, that sucks.
I‘m so sorry to ruin someone‘s race after spending so much time in practice and racing. :(
I didn‘t know that this could happen by joining a room and never heard of it - so my apologies for this.

To be fair that is the first time ive heard of that as well. Thankfully lobby 2 was fairly stable other than a few jumps here and there.

Lobby 1 was struggling to get all participants visible, kept having cars stuck on the grid, we battled to get past the start, so Noir was forced to host as a public room with a limited max slots. The stability was already hanging on by a thread, and I guess having people join mid race was enough to push it over the edge in a pretty unstable ecosystem, especially noting Noir who was host had a system crash which meant host swapped.
It is somewhat impressive that lobby 1 even got underway to be fair, and it let most people get a good race in.

We had bets on when he would quit last night, none of us won. Most of the bets were having @DesertPenguin leaving either before or by the first pitstop. It’s very surprising with how @DesertPenguin and @damonc84 were battling that @damonc84 didnt get divebombed and taken out.

CONGRATS TO A WELL DESERVED WIN @damonc84 and @Whitetail.

Heck of a win Mr Damon battling the track for that long and having a dp behind you and u not only survive and not get dumped but come away with a win truely impressive

Thanks @aceboy127 for hosting this Gracious event. I would race in any events you have. Congratulations to all the winners. I know a lot of time goes into prep.
I had to drop out after first pit. Too many glitches. My tv came unplugged second lap, and my fuel tank only filled up half way after fueling all the way. I was too far back to begin with so I just got out the way
Big congratulations to my team mate @TEX36 driving the Martini Porsche, getting moved up to GTE PRO from AM, to starting last and finishing on the podium in 3rd. Biggest winner is the series if you ask me.
Again thanks @aceboy127 for hosting. Hope we can run it again

10 lap stints, Softs first stint, Supers to the end. Short shifting with ~82% fill up each stop was my strategy.

Was doing 3:31s with 15 laps stint after few big mistakes in few openimg laps... My plan was 2 stints with 14 laps and then power stint of 12 laps. . But those two mistakes did it all... :) My fastes lap was after all 3:28.4, not bad for a nubie like me and on DS4 :D

3 incidents in 4 laps for me, i couldn't take it anymore :/

...nevertheless my man you are an alien :)

Good race after all except few hiccups from some of the players...

How very unsportsmanlike of you. It's getting kind of stale and frankly rude at this point.

I'm glad everyone had some fun in one way or another. We are very proud to have gotten such a huge field and look forward to the next major event. Maybe by then the 16 player voice chat will be working.

That's enough. It was a good event being spoiled by the acrimony. This event was about getting the community together and having a good time. Planning this was a lot of work.

I ask that people take a breather from this exchange and let it go. Thank you.

Did anyone else picture Michelle Olsen in full house while reading this
