Replay stuffs
Lap 20 the epic cross over on dp through the first sector.
Lap 32 final sector.
Lap 37 first sector.
Lap 48-finish.
Basically follow my car the whole race. I don’t think there was a lap I wasn’t battling someone.
We had some fun around the pit stops but on track I couldn't keep up with the ballast weight and this track. It's just too many turns that I'm not good at so I can't get the most out of them and when I try I mess up. I had straight line on you guys but couldn't brake worth a damn.

One of the more fun races I’ve had. Too bad I got jacked by gts penalty system on the last lap.

Great racing as usual fellas.

Unfortunately there is a lot to process after this race. The penalties being handed out by the game in this race were outrageous and disruptive to the flow.

There is a strong possibility that modifications to the rules will have to be made. Ghosting and Penalties my all be removed from the series to try and minimize that issue.

There was also a bit of contact that needs to be reviewed by the series stewards and a possible modification to the "Rules regarding contact".

Your patience on these matters is greatly appreciated.

I gave it absolutely everything tonight and I really had that mclaren on the edge. On top of that, @Timlour disconnects while leading comfortably, @Mopowr and @R1600Turbo got together and lost time and @Moby45 is in the toyota so... And still I came up short. I dont think seeing victory lane is even an outside possibility at this point. Still I had a blast and that was quite a race. Can't wait to see how this thing feels with some ballast next week.

That one was tough. Cruised in the lead for a bit until @Timlour caught me. Just let him go through and settled into 2nd. Long race, wasn't planning on 11/10 every lap, so concentrated on saving tires. Then at the start of lap 13 @Mopowr had some brake fade ;) and gave me a love tap braking for turn 1, which pushed me into Tim. While I hesitated a bit for Tim to get back on the track, we both got hit with a 6 second penalty. (Mopowr got 1 second) Because the penalty was so high I decided to try and let it run out before continuing. Tim didn't and just took off. :P The car felt fine so I kept going and only realized I had damage after I got passed a couple times. Then I realized it was slowing the car down, so I dove for the pits at the end of lap 15 to fix it.

So that threw my strategy off so I spent the rest of the race playing catch-up. Was going to try and make it to the end on the last set of tires since I was good on fuel (actually overfilled) but with 10 to go I knew it wasn't going to work so I dove in for a fresh set. Came out behind @aceboy127 who gave me the spot and then hit pit road for fresh tires to try and take the fast lap. Spent the rest of the race trying to catch @Moby45 and finally caught up and passed him with a couple laps to go, securing 3rd. Sadly Tim ran into a mechanical issue and wasn't able to finish or the race would have been his.

That was one hell of a race man! Congratulations!!

The Success Ballast Allotments List has been updated. Check my work.👍

None of the Spreadsheets have been updated yet. I will take care of those later tonight.

The Results are still unofficial - the review of the incident on lap 13 involving the leaders is still under review.

There was some discussion in a chat lobby last night about how the bonus points at the 30 and 60 minute marks will be determined. As of last night the determination of bonus points was going to be calculated based on 30 minutes from the time racing commenced - after the formation lap.

It was tough to do because most people took to the pits at the exact time they would have earned the point. Just wanted to make you all aware.

The Gentleman Racing Team finally put together a good performance at Catalunya. The driver remained patient, resisted binning the car and took advantage of the lack of ballast.

To celebrate the Team took the car out on the town in a local village.

Good job! It wasn't roses for everybody though. There are rumors going around that one of the top performers in Pro class lost his sponsor. *cough cough* @R1600Turbo *cough*

How did the meeting with the new sponsors go? Also when are we going to be privy to the new sponsors and what they are bringing to the table?

Quite honestly I didnt account for the bonus points mid race because my strategy was set and I had little wiggle room to go for those anyways. I was just focused on dividing up the 49 laps in a way that didnt stress my tires or fuel windows too much. However you determine it is fine.

Incident reviews are completed and have been posted. I think it was a fair outcome.

Driver's Points Standings Updated and Ballast Tracker updated as well. As always - check my work. Thanks

Brands Hatch is next.

Also, anyone interested in testing? Let me know.

Thanks for racing in the series guys. You all make it worth the work it takes.

Devastated really, I sat behind him for almost a quarter of a lap while he shed his penalty and got his bearings. (We talked and i was told all good on damage affecting the car) Only passed him after whitey ran him wide after we had gone past the pit entry the lap after the incident. When he pit 2 laps later I was barely ahead of him and didnt know he was pitting because of damage. I asked he said he felt his car was slow due to damage and I pit on the next lap. What should I have done differently (aside from not braking late, which I dont think is penalizable in and of itself)to avoid getting this 5 second penalty? Should I have followed him for 2 or 3 laps and waited to see or was I clear once he drove past the pit entrance an entire lap after the incident? The rule doesnt state as such but it is easily inferred that if the struck driver does not enter the pit after almost an entire lap after contact it could no longer be assumed the rule would still apply. I still pit early (the lap after him) took a light fuel load and ran stint 2 very long so i could have a short final stint.

I get your disappointment on this. The rule calls for a 30 second time penalty - which would be way too harsh for this scenario.

That being said - it's difficult to know how the race would have developed had the incident not occurred. One can only consider the incident at the time and its impact on the cars involved given the rules as they were at the time. I concluded that some time penalty was in order because to award no penalty was inappropriate as well. All that could be weighed was the mitigating factor that there was opportunity to communicate between the drivers.

You have to remember as well that by not pitting and waiting additional time for him to take repairs you most likely recouped a good amount of lost time. At least 5 seconds, no?

You have worked hard and have been driving really well. You've also gotten faster at the same time. I believe you will continue to do so and these types of situations will soon be a thing of the past.

Going forward I will be reviewing and likely revising the rules to try and address some of the issues raised by this incident.

Namely:
  1. How a striking driver can be informed whether the driver of the damaged car intends to pit for damage repair. Use of hazard lights may be our best option in that regard.
  2. Making the time penalty smaller. Perhaps a max of 10 seconds?
The matter of the time penalties the game was giving out has to be addressed as well. It was ridiculous what was going on.

For race 4 all penalties will be off. It makes me nervous but we can't have what the game is doing continue to affect the races.

I didn't even know I had damage right away because the car felt fine, wheel was straight, etc. It was only until I got passed really quickly by a couple people that I glanced down to check my tires and saw I had damage. Then I realized that it was the reason for the car feeling slow. So I dove for pit lane.

I understand there is alot going on and I appreciate all your efforts. The unfortunate thing is I was gaining on them regardless pulled in 1.2 seconds in the previous 3 laps. Probably by breaking late lol. Thank you

Really wish my copy of the replay wasnt corrupted. I had damage that I had repaired as well so no I would not have gained much if any advantage in that regard. I also followed whitey for 3 laps instead of running away on fresh tires due to an illegitimate bump dragging penalty he recieved from me. He organically shed that penalty as I followed him know that he didnt deserve it and I sure didnt. Just hurts to race for that long follow all the rules to the letter, radio confirm everything, even follow up when I noticed something different and then point it all out myself knowing I did everything I could, aside from stop racing for 3 laps, and still have 5 points taken from me. I think I'm just so upset due to the fact that the night the incident happened and all sides were present for discussion I was told it didnt seem there would be a reason for a penalty. I know I stuffed my foot in my mouth and said review it first, but I honestly believe it was a racing incident and could not have handled it nor would anyone else have handled it differently or better. Very disheartened. Watching replay now without fast forward or rewind will probably post again after viewing. Thank you regardless to the racing administrators and fellow racers I know this is a thankless job for the most part and typically no ones happy about it. I wish the field who was present could vote between no penalty, 5 second, or 30 lol. I'd take my chances 4 sure.

Did you let @Mopowr know in chat that you were pitting to repair damage?

Can someone paraphrase any conversation that was had after the incident. I was not in the chat so I have no idea.
Also after incident "are you ok you need to pit, no car feels fine dont think its affecting it" Ensue long conversation about how certain areo damage can make car faster. I see him pit two laps later.
I said did you pit because of damage. He said yes I felt it was slowing me down, I said **** I was supposed to pit with you I'll pit immediately. Sorry for language

I honestly don't see a reason to have that rule. Especially if the involved parties are in the voice chat together and can discuss it on the spot. Then if there is still an issue, it can be reviewed after.
