Thank you @ Mopowr for that info.

Rules revision coming tomorrow. Time penalties and some additional points will be addressed. Any changes will apply only to upcoming races and will not be applied retroactively.

Incident reviews are completed and have been posted. I think it was a fair outcome.

Driver's Points Standings Updated and Ballast Tracker updated as well. As always - check my work. Thanks

Brands Hatch is next.

Also, anyone interested in testing? Let me know.

Thanks for racing in the series guys. You all make it worth the work it takes.

@Clean Racer shouldnt my ballast in the table be 3%* and then 108% in the posting (currently it is 4 and 107 respectively).

What about my incident??

Standard BoP for the Ferrari is 105%. You are maxed for a Pro-Am at +3%. That puts you at 108%. I will update the ballast allotment soon and the chart will get fixed later tonight. Sorry for the mistake and thanks for checking my work.

CORRECTION!

I updated the ballast allotment and the chart will get fixed later tonight.

I pmed you about it right after the race. I got knocked off track and got a penalty for it. Penalty caused me to finish one place lower than I should have.
Last lap t1
Oh yes. I'm sorry. I'll check it.

I'm home with my two boys who are sick(fever). I may not get to see it until the morning.

I updated the Ballast Spreadsheet. I have to use an *asterisk in the totals column for the people who have amassed more than the max ballast for the category they are in. That's why @racefan88 had a 4. Remember though, if your a Pro-Am driver the max you can accrue is 3% ballast.

That being said - 4 of the Pro-Am drivers are maxed out at 3% - Brands Hatch is going to be an interesting race for the Pro-Ams.:)

A third incident was reviewed and the results have been posted.

Keep in mind that this particular incident set up a particular set of circumstances instigated by the game. As a result incident #2 is getting a re-review. I will notify you all when the outcome is posted.

I will say this, the ballast allotments may change before Brands Hatch but it doesn't matter anyway. Last night I ran some practice. First I ran 10 laps with the 3 percent ballast i am currently carrying and i ran a 1:30.1. Then i ran with no ballast for a bit and then i ran some laps in the ferrari. The closest I could get to my fast lap with ballast was 1:30.3 with both unballasted cars. This proves that ballast or lack thereof has less affect than whether you run the perfect line. This track is all rhythm and when i lost it i took a few laps to lock back in. Get your seat time in this weekend folks.

The ballast is generally there to make it more difficult to run a good line. Not really 100% to slow the car down but more to make things harder for the driver.

That being said, sometimes ballast hurts some cars with acceleration.

Incident on lap 13 was re-examined and the 5 second penalty assigned to @Mopowr is rescinded.

Let's all try our best to avoid contact like that in the future.

Track limit penalties will remain on for the rest of the season. The reason some of the penalties were so ridiculous during that race is because GT Sport does not recognize whether a driver was pushed off or went off line on their own. I think it saw @Timlour and @R1600Turbo go offline without considering the fact that they were struck and figured that they cut the track.

The same thing happened in incident #3. @CPT_RowdyGiff caught a penalty after going off but the game didn't recognize that he was pushed off.

In the braking zone:

Driving defensively is perfectly fine in racing. Making multiple moves right before the breaking zone and during is kind of messed up. That type of driving will be taken into consideration in any incident review.

So I guess all the nonsense I dealt with in regards to penalties was irrelevant? It wasn't so much about track limits as much as it was someone bumping you from behind when you're racing close and it gives you a penalty for doing nothing wrong.

If there's a penalty next week that I don't deserve I will speak up and it shouldn't count towards my overall time. That goes for everyone. Getting 6 seconds and having to worry about bleeding it off because the guy behind didn't stop in time is anything but fair.

I don't want to or mean to sound overly critical, but it should be seen as constructive criticism at least. This is a nice environment where we feel comfortable speaking our minds. :)

I personally don't run penalties in my series because you end up with incidents like this and then it just becomes a huge cluster. I like to think that I can trust people that sign up for my leagues enough to not need it. And I also would like to think that others would say something if they saw someone deliberately cutting the track to gain time. And we all know the GT Sport penalty system is far from perfect. I would prefer to leave it in Sport mode where it belongs.

The thing is - I only have track limits set and they are on weak to boot. I haven't seen this much contact in this series until this race.

I have a real problem not setting track limits to weak. Not because I don't trust people to race fairly. The limits are the same for everyone. All people have to do is adapt to where the game has them.

I've raced in other series and seen some pretty liberal "track limits" when it is set to off. And if a driver is catching a quarter second advantage using a line that looks legit but really isn't...then that time starts to add up over the course of a 25 to 30 to 45 lap race.

That issue of contact is what it is. Contact will happen. Folks have to do their best to avoid it.

Were you getting penalties for getting hit but not going off line? That hasn't happened to me. If it was happening to you let me know where and when on the replay so I can go back and watch it.

Yea, and it was calling it "colliding with another car". I brought it up in chat after the race... Other times I got hit from behind and it threw me off my line to where I went wide and it called that "shortcut penalty" even though I went wide and lost time. Luckily in the end it didn't affect my position but there's no reason it can't in the future.

And I've never had this issue. I guess it comes down to who's running it and what type of series it is.

Also, I'm pretty sure I didn't go off the track on that lap 13 incident, I think the 6 seconds was purely contact related.

All people have to do is adapt to where the game has them.
With all due respect, that's bull:censored:. We shouldn't have to adapt to some crap that's not realistic because that's all that's available because it's not.

I've raced in other series and
And we aren't other series. You need to put more faith in IRS and those that drive in IRS series.

I'll look at it again but I was sure you went off ever so slightly.

Thanks for being diplomatic about it.
