IRS GT4 Championship - Season 4 Champions - R1600Turbo and GentlemanRacing

Probably going to be late. Decided to have something done to my car and it's currently in progress. Then I have to drive an hour home.

1st race was rough for me but still fun.

2nd race was lots of fun.

Overall, I think this track is a great addition to the schedule.

Thanks for coming out and racing. Everyone drove really well.

Funny how @Clean Racer warns about his power going out and I'm the one who ends up losing power

Tested the Huracan and the Mustang out. After 6 laps in the Mustang, my optimal time is 46.9, 3 tenths faster than my optimal time in the 1st test race, 47.2 in the Huracan. At this point, I think it's safe to say that the Huracan doesn't have any outstanding advantages and should fit in nicely. Same for the GTR.

I figured something happened, but we didn't wait. How long was it before you got back online?

You never felt that the Mustang was too heavy, even with ballast?

Got back online about half an hour ago.

Honestly, no, it didn't feel too heavy. But it was heavy enough that understeer would catch me out on occasion. The Huracan is lighter, but it doesn't brake as well as the Mustang, and, although I didn't check, I doubt it's faster than the Mustang in a straight line.

Hate that I missed it as this was the only week I could join. Hoping the PM shift stuff switches back to normal before the start of the season. If not, I'm going to try and request a Tuesday-Saturday work week.
This is very flattering. Thank you.

I hope that all of the Pros who signed up make at least 6 of the races (2 drop races) because the Pro field looks awesome.

The Pro-Am field is looking good too. I can't wait to see who steps up to challenge the reigning Champs in their respective classes.

TBH, @racefan88 was looking really racey last night. So was @DesertPenguin but that tire wear issue showed up again so he struggled in the later portion of the 2nd race. @fastone371 is looking good too.

I know these practice races don't mean much because those guys will settle in to a car and probably get faster. Looking forward to it.:gtpflag:

I get what Whitey was saying about the McLaren with turn-in and brake balance at 1 or 2 to the rear, but turn exit understeer is still an issue and that's where it matters more because you don't wanna be letting off slightly as you're coming out of a turn. The car behind that's steady on the gas will easily fly right by you.

I thought the Hyundai would be better on tires since it's nearly 100 pounds lighter than most other cars but that track is tough no matter what.

You can't come back on the throttle all the way on exit, you have to kind of roll back onto the throttle. Took me a few races to figure out but once I got it I was hanging with the front guys pretty well. Considering Moby made the Porsche and Toyota competitive, I think he'll be able to nab a win or 2 in the McLaren with that power.

For you penguin. I think the Aston makes the most sense. Its very well balanced and has great power. Since you seem to eat tires for breakfast, I think the Aston would be your best bet on long runs.

Yea, I can see that. More throttle control as I put the pedal down. I guess that's not my forte lol

I don't think I eat the tires as much as I'm not great at driving worn tires so the moment they start to go I'm instantly out of my element. I think it compounds from there due to overdriving the car to make up time.

I'll try the Aston next week

Post up your vehicle choices starting on Monday April 20th at 16:00 EST/4pm Eastern - The limit is 3 cars per manufacturer. First come first served.

So soon??? I have not really compared anything yet, I guess I have some work to do this weekend. I noticed Sir Gentlemanracer using the Lexus often, I tried it Monday and thought it had terrible understeer, maybe just track dependant??
