It was a lot of fun. I had a great race and my early pit stop paid off big time this week.

I honestly think you can take the warning off of the first turn accident. After all, there was a couple of people encouraging him to drive even though he was drunk. I was one of the drivers. I half expected it to happen Lol. So what I am saying is I am not upset at all nor was I upset when it happened. I usually drive pretty emotionless. Save all my emotions for the end.

Anyway. Great racing! Can't wait until next week!

The following is an assessment of the incidents during last nights race:

  • In turn 1 at the start of the race @RoadRageDudez a.k.a SDM_RRDZ came steaming into turn 1 and collided with @Moby45. Moby's car sustained damage to the right rear suspension as a result. Moby did an amazing job to stay with the lead pack and repaired the damage during the Pit Stop but his race was compromised at that point. He benefited from an incident that occurred later in the race and still finished 2nd. Well done @Moby45!
  • Toward the end of lap 10 @Mopowor had taken the lead but blew the turn prior to the chicane near the end of the lap. He then proceeded to go off track through both the left and right sections of the chicane and had a spin. In his attempt to get back on track and enter the pit lane he re-entered Unsafely. @Timlour had committed to overtaking @Mopowr on the indside going into the final turn but was subsequently sent head first into the barrier and sustained heavy damage to the front of the Corvette. Luckily @Timlour was able to go into the pit but still lost time recovering after the accident and while repairing damage in the pits. Immediately following that collision with @Timlour, @Mopowr then collided with @Bass Addict who was pushed into the sand, had a spin coming out of the sand and ended up backing into the wall. Also sustaining damage. @Bass Addict had to complete that lap with damage. Race compromised but repaired the car in the pit then proceeded to secure fast lap. He may have been in the mix at the front if not for that damage.
  • On lap 18 @LedtheIron was running wide and onto the paint through turn 3 (the long right hander) but while trying to return to the track was struck in the right rear quarter by @Mopowr. @LedtheIron suffered suspension damage but soldiered on. (He may have pitted late - I'm not sure).
As a result of these incidents the following penalties are being issued:

  • As a result of the collision on lap 1 (turn 1) - A warning is being issued to @RoadRageDudez for the dive-bomb.
  • As a result of the collision on lap 11 - A 30 second time penalty added to @Mopowr 's race finish time (similar to what a drive through penalty would yield a driver). This effectively moves his finish position from 5th to 7th and promotes @Bass Addict and @LedtheIron up to 5th and 6th respectively.
  • As a result of the collision on lap 18 - A 5 position grid spot penalty is being issued to @Mopowr for race 5 at Monza.

I hope this doesn't seem to harsh. Due to the fact that people's races were compromised Organizers felt penalties were in order.

TBH, these guys are both good drivers and anyone can make a mistake like this in the heat of the action. One also has to consider that prior to lap 11 there was some seriously close racing up front between as many as 5 drivers and all of it was without much incident other than some side by side argey bargey that is often seen in real racing. These things happen.

I have recorded the race Broadcast but I still have some editing to do. I hope to have it up as soon as possible.

I look forward to Race 5 at Monza (well, kind of... I have 4% ballast for the next race lol). Let's remember what T1 L1 can be like at Monza.

Sorry for all who's race I affected I did not think i hit bass addict my apologies sir but after watching the replay I definitely at least ran him out of road. Complete rookie move on my part apologies to all involved. I will continue to strive to do better I've only been at this for a couple months with a wheel and using cockpit view. Thanks for the pointers timlour and ledtheiron, and for gentlemen racing for putting this on and taking the time to deal with my poor judgment. Look forward to more racing and improving my race craft and split second decision making! I think we had alot of good clean close racing that race. Again my apologies for thos whos race i negatively affected.

You are a great racer @Mopowr don't be discouraged. I can't believe you use cockpit view and do so well. In GtSport I just can't use it. In PCars I use it but it's better implemented there. Everyone drove really well last night. Every pass I made took a while to set up and had to be planned. I had to tactically relinquish a position a few times so I can stay on strategy and not burn up my tires or waste fuel with unnecessary battles. Really pushed me to the limit, it was a blast.

You did a great job last night and you continue to improve so don't be at all discouraged by the penalties. Racing in cockpit is not easy. Ive tried but my paranoia gets the best of me. With a name like Gentleman Racing I've got a lot to live up to. Lol:lol:

Race Day!!

There will be an adjustment to the lobby settings for this race.

Fuel seeting will be reduced to x2. I tested half distance with the original setting (x3) and it would have forced some drivers to stop twice.

Hope to see yoy all tonight! This race ought to be a good one.

@aceboy127 do you know what you are driving yet?

Sorry, meant to replay last night after I was done testing. I plan on using the Mercedes SLS. Also, I will be there tonight.

Race Day!!
I am physically and mentally drained after spending 3 hours on the Nordschleife yesterday... I finished 3rd in my class so I am happy about that.

I have a 7am plane to catch tomorrow morning with a 4am alarm setting so I will reluctantly have to pass on the race tonight and I will still be out of town next Monday as well...:(

Good Luck Tonight!

With the ballast stacking up on the field, I am going to go out and predict @aceboy127 wins his debut in similar fashion to me from last week and keeps the no repeat winner trend intact. 2nd to @Mopowr and @LedtheIron rounding out the podium.

Let's see how my predictions unfold. I ran some test laps with the ballast. I just dont see a way I touch the podium with the weight. I'm going to be like @Clean Racer was last week and keep turning clean laps and hope for luck.

This is what makes things interesting. Tedious but interesting.

Not tedious at all. I love the performance balancing. If you are truly fast, the results will bear out throughout a season. I dont think the final standings will be impacted one iota, the fast guys will be on top still. Race to race there is more excitement, more battles to be had and more opportunity. Still have to drive a very clean and thoughtful race to have a chance whether you have ballast or not. Its crowded at the front and everyone here is capable of pulling out a win.

It's going to be a good one for sure.

Agreed. I like the weight ballast system. And, it truely does slow some fast guys down a bunch depending on car choice also. The V8 cars don't seem to suffer much on speed and acceleration with the weight so most opened tracks they have a small advantage, but it doesn make them more thirsty. The Porsche I am running doesn't handle too much different, it is slightly harder on tires but man is it slow to get up to speed with added weight. Lol

It has been a lot of fun doing it this way.

Well some dip**** ran into an electric pole in my neighborhood. So it flicked my electric and booted me offline for a little bit. There goes that race lol.

Wasn't going to be pretty anyway. All that weight on the porsche, i was in the draft and people were pulling away hahaja
