IRS | Toyota 86 Racing Series | Mondays 9p EST | BIG FINALE TONIGHT: Dragon Trail - Seaside II

I have never owned a wheel but plan to eventually. In the meantime, in gran turismo, the DS4 is competitive with the wheel and I can hold my own fairly well. In any other game like assetto corsa or pcars I have a hard time just making it through turns even at low speeds.
Considering I thought you had a wheel by now you can definitely hold your own.

Anyone around today want to practice?

I think the one thing that everyone agrees on regardless of speed is that you will be more consistent due to having more control over your car with a wheel. There is no more flicking a stick back and forth to keep your car straight or move from one side of the track to the other. The thing that makes the DS4 fast is that PD built magic into the DS4 to keep the controllers as equal as possible to wheel users. Your car will become a little harder to drive and more difficult to correct over steer when switching to a wheel but I think the advantages make up for it not to mention playing a racing game with a wheel is just proper. It will more than likely take some time to get comfortable with a wheel too, it took about 4 weeks until I was consistently faster with my wheel but my lines and car control improved immediately.

Absolutely. I hope you can get your schedule worked out so you can race with us regularly 👍

I'll be on around 7 or 7:30 EST.

Does anyone mess around with brake balance? The car is already pretty nimble with the grippiest road tires and fully lightened but would it help in any specific situation?

I'm somewhere in the middle, but have really only ran some laps with PApunk the other night. Some practice racing with a group seeing where to go and where there's room for things would help a lot. I'm going to open the lobby tomorrow at 8:30 instead of 9:00 so we get a full hour to practice.

Sorry about that i was planning on getting on last night but my daughters had other plans...as for passing there are plenty of options to pass at this track unlike tskuba where it had 2 or 3 places i could count at least 5 or 6 good corners to pass on...

Guess I'll introduce myself

I'm from Louisville, Ky. Iv been racing since GT1. Up until GTS, Iv always used a controller, even steering using the D-pad instead of analog sticks. Some old habits are hard to break LoL. Now I'm using a T150 wheel.
When I'm not playing GTS, I'm playing drums on Rock Band 4 for PS4.
As much time I spent making my livery for the 1st season, I'm sticking with it this season. I prefer beverage liveries on my cars (Coke, Monster, Budweiser ect.) I'll change my race number (#73) if its already taken.
I also prefer to start in rear of the field and work my way up to where I belong with my consistantly times. Seems more fun to me than trying to win.
Looking forward to more races with you guys!
