IRS | Toyota 86 Racing Series | Mondays 9p EST | BIG FINALE TONIGHT: Dragon Trail - Seaside II

Aside from being the Inventory king of the world, excel guru extraordinaire and all around good guy, I also run a small part time auto detailing business out of my garage on the weekends April through November. I have a pool of about 20 steady customers and always get “randoms and referrerals” calling me up for a detail.
I can’t fix’em but I can sure make them look show room new! :cheers:
Dude people pay alot to have their investment taken care of and keep it looking nice.

Attendance Confirmation

@Clean Racer @Nick Cannella @Whitey093 @WhiteFlight1 @whiteusagi @Herimopp89 @YaMainWrench

@Standard_FV @TexasJDC

Since last week we have lost one driver but gained another so we're still at 17 for tomorrow night. Lately whiteusagi and YaMainWrench have been no confirm/no shows so if that's the same this week then everyone else is fine. No need to feel like you're being forced out. I hope to see all of you tomorrow for the season finale and some good on track fun.

:cheers:

Apologies for being part of the no-confirm/no-show crowd of two, but scheduling difficulties will likely prevent me from participating in today’s race as well. Will try to join in on future seasons!

Being that you're trying to make this work from Japan you get an extra free pass dude.

I just saw Jw_wk's and Ryan's liveries in the activity feed. It looks really weird with a lot of cars having the same carbon hood. As long as you're using a gloss style color you can just add a hood decal to cover it all and paint that your body color. Are you guys just not using gloss colors or it's a style choice?

The best way to do those is to not have them so big. You can use project by camera and rotate to the front corner angle so it's straight on.

Very true indeed especially when you start getting into coatings. The application is relatively straight forward but it’s the correction work is where it all begins. People don’t understand the difference between a “car wash” and a true detail which is an acquired skill and art that takes many hours and years to perfect.

Picture time.

At work but real quick points are really close and I'll post it in a few hours.

With more consistent attendance I'm starting to think about the drop week. Scores are close whether we drop a score or not, but without a drop week it gives more incentive to show up every week. Please let me know what you think and all suggestions will be taken seriously. I want to show that its a serious series but not deter the slightly more casual player.

The Past
We have come such a long way since this series started. To think discussions started back in July '18!! So much has changed and I can honestly say it has all been for the better. I don't even know where to begin when trying to list it all off. Race formats, prize selections, tire wear, we are always evolving. I have nothing but adoration for all of you and what we have accomplished thus far.

The Present
Everything we have done so far brings us to where we are now, but that whole time more things are always being discussed. I have made three major changes that will affect everyone. The first page posts now reflect this new info:

1) No more drop week. Every week counts. You may miss a week but others may as well. If you miss a week you might not win the championship but there's still best of the rest that missed a week. Think of it like it's own mini-championship. This leads directly into #2.

2) Prize selection will now be granted to the Top 2 and Bottom 2 drivers that have attended every week of the season. This is to encourage attendance, whether you are fast or not. You can only win this two seasons in a row so if you're in the Top 2/Bottom 2 a third time it will pass over you to 3rd place or 3rd from bottom.

3) Race time has increased to 20 minutes. More fun for everyone.

The Future
We are right on the cusp of consistently getting full grids. Discussions should be starting for how to handle this. I don't want to be without options when it gets to that point and have to think on the fly. Let's have a plan in place for when it gets to that point. Something else that just came up is a longer one-off race between seasons. I would like an opportunity to use the longer tracks like Nordschleife and Circuit de la Sarthe. These would be longer races, most likely with at least one pit stop. This race would have no points on the line and just be for bragging rights. Lastly, Rolling Starts are being considered as most incidents have been occurring on the first lap or two. If anyone has any ideas for these or other topics please don't hesitate to post in the thread or message me. I'd love to hear what you guys can come up with.

Once again I'd like to thank you all for helping out whenever and wherever you can. Let's keep this party rockin'!

P.S. First track of Season 4 is Suzuka East. Time to get those tires warmed up ;)
