IRS VW Scirocco Cup Season 1 | Tuesdays 9PM Eastern | Season Completed - Thanks to all who raced!

Sorry I backed out but I was not having fun anymore. The car felt more at home on normal length tracks. With the Nordschleife you run out of tires and still have a lot of the lap left before you can do something about it. I can't wait to see what else we can do with this car in the future. It will be our own personal TCR Spec Series to toy with :)

Actually Desert, that car was designed for the 'Ring and drives beautifully there. A true Joy to throw around that track. The third lap the tires might be a bit slippery, but that is what makes it all interesting with the perfect 6 lap race length setup @Clean Racer put together.
2-stopper or 1-stopper. The delta between the two strategies were very close. (RS is always the way to go at the 'ring by the way if available in case you maybe tried a different tire; IMO anyway).

I didn’t notice too much tire wear, probably could’ve made the RS’s last 6 laps if we absolutely had to/weren’t allowed to pit. I was just slow like I usually am around that track but especially so since I don’t know if I’ve ever used anything with RS tires there, usually am driving something that you have to tiptoe around with. It was fun to drive though, just as always would’ve preferred harder tires.

Looking forward to seeing the final standings, hopefully my DC didn’t cost me the championship

If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough - Mario Andretti

sucks about your DC:mad:; you were right there in the mix when it happened weren't you?

I was gonna try the medium tire but it felt like crap and I couldn't even drive it how I wanted to. That's more down to my driving style though too. My biggest hurdle is consistency and with RS tires any mistake compounds on the previous one and before you know you don't have the tire life you thought you'd have.

I missed it....I was ready to go and then had to take a last minute call.

Le sigh.

Well I'll keep my eyes open for the next one. The Scirocco is as close as I'm going to get to the TCR GTI in this game so its great fun.

Check out the International Racing Series Main Hub. There is racing every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 9pm EST. I'm not sure what's next after the current stuff but it will always be interesting and fun. Stick around, you might like it :)

Thank you Clean Racer/ GentlemanRacing for putting the series together, it was challenging to be prepared on a weeknight but rewarding. I look forward to attending your successive series.

After much searching and compiling results, I'd like to give you the Drivers Standings for the Scirocco Cup Season 1. Also congratulations to our champion @bloodyboyblue!

Also just to note, these results are correct to the best of my knowledge. If anyone sees any errors, please let me know and I will fix.

As a rookie event organizer I did a pretty bad job with this. I still struggle with some elements of organizing but have made improvements. My apologies to the participants and congrats to the Champ.

I'll continue to get better. Thanks for your patience.
