Is a Hot Dog a Sandwich?

"Hot dog" refers to the bun with meat OR just the meat alone. If someone asked what was the correct nomenclature for just the meat, hotdog would be a correct answer. As for the whole package, hot dog would also be a correct answer. A similar example is how hamburger could refer to the meat or the meat and bun (although generally assumed to be the latter). So yes, it could be a sandwich depending on how you interpret it.
