Is GT6 already completed? (title edited)

For those getting excited about the GT6 "so many tracks your hat falls off" statement.

Keep in mind PD loves to exaggerate numbers to raise hype. 1000 cars in GT5 sound familiar. So plug in the PD conversion and you get. "Large number of tracks" = 20% completed tracks. I am guessing many will be reverse directions or even sections. Possibly, and this would be great, many more tracks with nightime or weather options. But knowing PDs track record, I would not get hyped AT ALL.

Yes but it never came from pd. it came from Licas Ordonez.

Now, I'm not usually the guy to make these prediction threads, but I felt I had to this time to share my view about this. There has been a lot of talk about Gran Turismo, between the Academy and GT6. Could it be possible that GT Academy was scheduled around this time so to build up speculation for the summer and eventually the Tokyo Game Show or maybe even Gamescom. I think that the GT Academy was carefully timed to have the Racer X competition when it was. The announcement of the GT5:Academy Edition should bring GT5 back into the public eye again. There's been rumors of a high track count for GT6, which, while somewhat expected, is a bit of random news for a game which hasn't really been talked about too much. That rumor was followed by a Kaz interview commenting on GT's future, and making a remark about Shanghai International Circuit.

Why am I making a thread about it? Well, the Racer X competition was only 2 weeks ago, since then, we've had all the above, plus many national finals for GT Academy, Sony obviously wants some GT marketing... Do they want renewed sales in GT5, or building up GT6?

We already have threads for this though...

Is GT6 completed?
10 Reasons Why We'll See GTblablablah
When do you think GT6 will be released?

I agree, it's all very exciting, but there hasn't really been much news lately, except Lucas saying we'll flip our lids.

When a trailer comes out, then we can be excited. When something gets leaked, we can be excited. When Sony leaks something, I cheer and speculate.

Till then I've got 5. If you want renewed interest, use # and tweet some manufacturers, or post up on the Facebooks and Google+. I agree, get the word out!

How many of these silly threads do we need. Enough already with all the speculation threads about GT6. We have one already, thats enough.

I got a garage full of nicely tuned cars and an account full of credits.
Give me a “Classic Track Pack” dlc with all the old great tracks, and I’ll be happy to wait until the PS4 comes out to get an even better GT6.

He's a Nissan racing driver...

But he became a racing driver through gt academy. I think the gt academy winners are very high-value for PD. These guys started in virtual racing and then got into real racing. I think that they can give way better input to help to improve and perfect the physics of GT. A race driver that has years of experience might not be as useful, when he is not even connected to racing simulations. Very clever to get Ordonez into development of GT6.

Guys, GT5 almost took about 6 years of development. And GT6 could take about 8 or maybe even 10 years or more. Instead of 1000 cars in GT5, they could have about 1750 cars or more. :I But, we'll see what will happen next.

Will never happen.

That's great for cars that Lucus is familiar with I agree.

PD need an equation that simulates the parameters of the car, weight distribution, Width/height drive train tire model etc.
Which I am sure they already have BTW.

Simply put even Lucas can't give accurate details on cars he simply hasnt driven.

I am not knocking Lucas at all. I agree its a great boon to have his knowledge and experience.
Putting responsibility on him is not fair to him or us.

I don't think so after Yamauchi said that they always aim for the latest hardware after someone asked him about GT6.

I think it'll be a PS4 game an the release will be 2014/2015 in my opinion.

Quotes getting misquoted already? He didn't say latest hardware, he said latest technology. There is a difference in that something like that data logging software can be considered latest technology but still running on PS3.

GT5 1.0 Specs - Beta! (so look like Beta! xD)
GT5 2.0 Specs - Release!

NEXT GT6 will be RELEASE perfect time!

You are correct, what comes to this = Simply put even Lucas can't give accurate details on cars he simply hasnt driven.

This is something MOST people tends to forget when speaking about the realism and simulation part, for example, I've never driven a F1 car so I dont have any idea does it work just right in GT5 so I dont go on and rant against this specific car because I'm "out of the opinion/question" what comes into that car, for example.

I must raise my hat for you Sir, it is pleasure to see someone with the functional brains on the internet for a change.

GT6 is no where near finished. Improved graphics doesnt qualify as a new game in my book. Content and gameplay are key.

I doubt that he talked about a data logging software. I think he means the PS4 with latest technology.

Lets see:

"He later added regarding GT6, "We're always aiming for the latest technology and the latest expression"

What do you think what he means? Data logging software or PS4? xD

Rumours and some people from the industry say the new console will be released 2013/2014.
Sony said they already work on Next Gen games.

Yamauchi complained about the PS3.

I don't care anymore on which console GT6 will be released, but after the statement from Yamauchi GT6 on PS4 is more realistic.

You can never read that much into what he says or take it so literally. For example, please clarify what he means with the second part of the quote, what is the "latest expression"?

Fixed.
Now I completely agree. 👍

My guess is Vita, or just openness in general (there were, once upon a time, whisperings of a GT on PC - obviously GT is far too valuable to Sony for that now).
There was a similar sort of thing before, when they were talking about playing to the strengths of a given platform, and he mentioned something like "expression" - that was talking about GTPSP, and justifying the changes in its design relative to the "normal" or "traditional" GT games.

Another take might be "following the trends in the industry", which is both good and bad.

I agree, nothing he's said is definitive proof that the next game will be on PS4 - or the opposite, I suppose (although, logic dictates for the moment that the PS3 is more attractive).

That's my thoughts exactly I'm not going to be so quick to pick up GT6 kind of like how I was with GT5(wish I never did).

Only way I pick up GT6 is all tracks from previous years are there plus new circuits even if their real or fake.

Premium Cars must be anywhere from 500-700 with standards less than 200.

A-spec must be an A-spec with the return of manufacturer races, and more Rallying.

What?
Have you been in PD studios since 2010, can you deny the first thing PD did was work on content and game play for GT6. The last 2 years they might have done no graphics work at all.

If 5 years of development only allowed for 200 premiums to be created, I highly doubt they were able to finish up the other 800 by now. On top of that include new tracks, new features and whatever else.

To me, GT6 needs to be re-invisioned, it cannot use the same formula GT5 used. It needs to involve the player more with deeper events, new ideas need to be implemented or else all it will be is GT5 with more cars. Just my opinion of course. I hope they dig deep for this one, but I still very much doubt GT6 will be on store shelves anytime soon.
