I think that maybe GT5 is really just a crossover/hybrid of GT4/GT6.
PD took whatever they could use from GT4 and the nextgen GT6, so that they could have a PS3 release.
Not that I think GT6 is finished, but well on the way in development. I def. think GT6 will be a PS4 title, not a PS3 title.

Hope you're right, but imho I think the pattern might be broken.
