Is GT6 Delayed?

hahahaha Updates...

And people mock Kaz after saying that they'll have to do that if they don't reach that breakthrough before they have to deliver the final code.

I much rather have had Kaz not announce such an ambition time frame, and then say "hey about those new improved sounds that we said were perfect but then changed it...we're going to make those a patch update sometime after the game is released." If he were now going to change that and then say we will delay the game instead of doing the prior claimed patch work, I'd have to really question why he didn't do that from the get go.

However, I think the game will be released on time, now that Kaz knows he can do subsequent important work via patch work.

We already know we'll be getting a substantial day one patch, so there's really no need to push the date back. Whatever doesn't get completed in time for the disc on release day, just add it to the patch.

Well we don't know why they would push it back, just like in the past when it took forever to find out why GT2, GT3, GT4, and GT5 were delayed. And as you saw it was hard to still find info on GT2 so... Also the day one patch probably wont be as expansive as you think,, meaning it isn't day one and it is going to be over duration.

I don't think they said "day one" specifically, I thought they said it was just a patch after launch.

From what I read you're right.

Also, and you can take this as me being negative or whatever if you want, but as mentioned above now that PD knows that they can post-release patch major content (and there is precedent and they've even announced that they may do so) without too much in the way of backlash... I'm honestly struggling to think of a reason why GT6 would possibly be delayed.

^ Exactly and as I posted before on another thread I don't see GT6 being delayed at all, unless the shipment gets taken over by pirates. :sly:

However, again on the serious note as I said as well PD seems to be wanting to give us a game that they will continuously build upon. DLC I understand but patchwork not so much, considering DLC is for new content that is released after the game is finished. For example Aston released a brand new car that is completely different 7 or 9 months after GT6 is released and they go to PD (like Chevy) and give them the ability to release it virtually to the public first. That is what DLC is good for, patches are people who need more time then they gave themselves.

 more like a few months.

I guys we should all go sacrifice a goat and start a rain dance...

The only saving grace is GT have a modulate based infrastructure so they can update freely. So any significant delay is unlikely. Kaz even confirmed sound updates later, and even the whole sound system process... And the huge day one patch... So likely the core disk might already be stamped and just a collection of core assets... And basic gameplay (not everyone is online yet). I'm pretty sure any updates at this point is in a patch, and they can que those up.

Or that is at least what I'm telling myself to feel better... :P
