The immersion in AC comes from driving the cars in the game. The FFB is exceptional, the physics superb, you feel as close to actually controlling the car as I've ever felt in a driving sim. I've been so immersed, I never noticed there wasn't anyone in the stands until you mentioned it.
I guess that's where I differ from, but not in a bad way plus I haven't seen the whole game.
My perspective on immersion remains the same driving is a big factor, environment a big factor, and human element.
If in a racing game I'm having fun driving, and there is fear of a crash/other elements like tire blowout etc. It's a good game add to that driving and you see environmental effects that makes it even better, and last NPC element get dynamic crowds man that just made the game for me.
That's why I can't stand Willow Springs in GT6 it looks great, but it's like I'm in the middle of nowhere, and no one is there plus no wind to kick up sand whether in the distance or otherwise.
