GT7: PS4 makes incredible difference - Kaz

The immersion in AC comes from driving the cars in the game. The FFB is exceptional, the physics superb, you feel as close to actually controlling the car as I've ever felt in a driving sim. I've been so immersed, I never noticed there wasn't anyone in the stands until you mentioned it.:D

I guess that's where I differ from, but not in a bad way plus I haven't seen the whole game.

My perspective on immersion remains the same driving is a big factor, environment a big factor, and human element.

If in a racing game I'm having fun driving, and there is fear of a crash/other elements like tire blowout etc. It's a good game add to that driving and you see environmental effects that makes it even better, and last NPC element get dynamic crowds man that just made the game for me.

That's why I can't stand Willow Springs in GT6 it looks great, but it's like I'm in the middle of nowhere, and no one is there plus no wind to kick up sand whether in the distance or otherwise.

The sound will be incredible on PS4. :D

Multiband reverb with early reflections, more work on acoustic transfer, and new work on structural transfer, too, combined with PD's "completely new method of generating sounds" which will be infinitely adjustable for piston / crank / firing order, intake and exhaust configuration. All tied up with more sources, incidental effects and better post processing.

Bring it on!

Evolution got really good car sounds right in their first try with Driveclub. Hopefully PS4 helps GT7 at least match it.

Holy crap that sounds good.
If all the cars sound that good, then Driveclub might have the most accurate car sounds to date....
Does Driveclub have an upgrade system like Forza?

;;The sound will be incredible on PS4. :D''

I really hope so, if not then everyone here will be like...

I have the same problem with the Red Bull Ring, it is a ghost town. Other nice things would be to see drivers gesticulating when being bumped, an angry open wheel driver throwing his steering wheel after getting bogged down on the gravel trap and having to retire, pit radio which I've mentioned many times and the ability to fight karate style a reckless driver who took you out a la Nelson Piquet sr.

A little bit digital and tone's a little bit higher than the real, but really accurate.

Better drivetrain simulation will improve the sound of the shifting. It doesn't seem as smooth as it should be; it sounds somewhat hesitant when it shifts. I think it will only make the cars sound even better. No game that I know of has this aspect reasonably replicated. It'll be a first.

Despite what people may think about this game I'm looking forward to it. I know he's broke promises but I'm giving him one more chance to make things right on the ps4. Roll on gt7 :).

Interesting for sure.

I'd say the implications are both good and bad: good in that it "legitimises" a pass-time (not that I personally needed that), but bad inthat it's another step where the video games industry is aping the film industry. I just hope that the kinds of games I enjoyed in my youth will continue to be made alongside the increasing share of cynical stuff.

We've already seen evidence of both of those aspects in GT.

Many people have of what they want gt7 to be... And honestly GT in general has always done great. Each game from 3 to 4 to 6 has small improvements. The suspension model the graphics. GT is unique. It's for the die hard Motorsport fans. Anyway my point is the biggest thing they have to work is car sounds... That is 100% livery ehh don't really care too much..... But it's a DRIVING simulator... Remember that it's about the drive.... I want to feel like I am driving the real deal and sounds make a huge difference... Gets you in tune... Hit you brakin points your turn in's downshift times. The more we fan post PD will listen

Imo, people would say gt6 was one of the best racing games if it had more accurate sounds and livery/ track/ event creator. Those are easy implentations for GT7. Sure theres other things like AI, physics, standard/premium cars but theres really not anything that cant be fixed with more memory on a more powerful system and some closer attention to detail. Kaz already laid out that he would redo it if he had the chance. GT7 is his chance.

The other day racing on Rome, drove past a NPC; I turned the camera, then I saw said NPC actually turned its head towards me and checked me out. That was creepy. :boggled:

Heh, the stuff in bold is already on PS3 as of 1.14. Lots of room for improvement, of course, but they've done a lot with very little - extremely promising.

It's been about a week still saying it with these Racing games now coming out, and GT7 no where in sight. I'll keep screaming this to the mountain tops. Immersion, Immersion, Immersion, and more Immersion.

Livery Editor is nice, but no sounds and no A.I upgrade/overhaul. Telling ya now those two mean more than just about anything else.

You take GT6 infuse it with Codemasters A.I system(not perfect, but far better than GT by miles it's not close), and you infuse the sound system of (insert any game you want here). The discussions are different.

Not saying the Livery Editor isn't important, but it would make people cool their engines so to speak you wouldn't have the threads we have now, or at least not this high in number.

They do that to make sure they're clear and not about to hit anything. Get in a pack race with go-karts and you'll see them looking around constantly because the quarters are so tight.

That so??💡
........Still doesn't explain darn AI tryin' their hardest to kill me on track......;)

Actually, the tone is only lower on the actual 458 because of the Doppler effect. I thought the same thing, then i realized that A: the real car is receding from the microphone, so Doppler will be kicking in and B: The person in the real car is more likely to short-shift/under-rev the car, because he has road rules to deal with. All in all, the sound is close enough to perfect that unless the two cars are side-by-side, you aint' telling them apart!

" During the World Wide Studios Town Hall panel at PlayStation Experience Polyphony Digital Community Manager Eric Fishback was asked what we can expect from the next Gran Turismo on PS4. His response was definitely promising:
- What you can expect from Gran Turismo on the PlayStation 4, which is the strongest console ever, is the best Gran Turismo you can imagine."

What else would he say?
"It'll be pretty good":odd:
"You'll probably like it but there's also Project Cars"
"Better than GT6 for sure":grumpy:

Of course he'll say it's the best ever that's his job:lol:

Dat lie. Why do people gotta lie so much to overhype fans and than disappoint them? Didn't someone else say that GT6 was going to be the best GT ever? I think it was Lucas?

Enough of this already...

..............."The best GT I can imagine"??
Oh boy. Believe you me, I CAN IMAGINE. And I also am old enough to recognize a sales pitch (a poor one, at that).
