So far the engine sounds in the demo's have been the same sounds from GT5.

If the sounds remain the same for the initial release of GT6, is it a big enough reason to not buy GT6?

I'm not making this to argue whether they will change the sounds, I personally think they will fix the sounds because of the outrageous amount of complaints about it but who knows when.

In my opinion, the sound isn't a deal breaker because the sound is still better than all the past GT's, and with all the improvements GT6 already has, it will be the best GT ever whether the sounds are good or not.

It's easier to list the ways GT6 isn't improving upon past GT's because it's improved in so many ways other than AI, sound, and visual damage.

Also, I did search to see if a thread or poll like this had been made before and it turned up no search results.

Just saw the Pagani Huarya with full audio(SRTmedia) and it sounds like a Veyron....

No it's definitely a different sound sample. It's inaccurate though. Sounds off at high rev's, good at low rev's.

The veyron is another engine sound they have to fix. The veyron in GT PSP and GT5 sounds absolutely nothing like the real thing

I have no problems with the sounds.

I would like them to be better, it would be nice but I don't have a problem with it either.

personally I'd rather they improve the AI than the sounds.

Seeing as we have no idea how good/authentic (or bad) the sound will be in the final product, it's very hard to say anything at the moment. Using videos recorded by a friggin phone or video camera doesn't tell you anything what so ever. It should also be noted that some people on this forum clearly just want every single car to sound like a high powered race car. Complaining about the Nissan 370 and GT-R in the GTA demo, dispite them sounding very close to their real world counterpart.

To put it simple. Based on GT5, some cars need work in the sound department. Other cars, like the McLaren F1 and Mazda 787B sound great and true to life.

No way sounds will make me not want GT6, especially when its getting a new updated Course Maker and other new stuff. I played games like TXRD2 on my PS2, and that one had bad sounds, but yet, I still played it.

Sounds have never been great in GT games. If at all it is better now then it was before. That doesn't mean GT5 sounds are great, becourse they still are borderline ok, compared to other games. But it surely won't destroy GT6.

Too bad PD is still deaf to critics about the 3 biggest defects of GT: Sounds, AI and Standards vs premium. You really want to laugh (of despair) when you hear the last GT6 direct feed of the Z4... We are in 2013 for Xsake!

Well the question was if the sounds are the same as GT5, is it a dealbreaker.

Like I said, not here to argue whether they will fix it before release. I'm saying if it doesn't, is it a dealbreaker

Not to mention, there's plenty of gameplay with direct audio out there.

Hey Tom. Are the sounds a dealbreaker for you?

No... the standard cars are.

Are you kidding me?

So 400 premium cars isn't enough? You expect them to do 1200? Or are you saying that they should take the 800 standards out?

Eitherway, i don't understand how adding 800 cars from previous games is a bad thing. Here's an idea, don't drive them. Standard cars are a non issue. There's only been 1 game ever to have more than 400 cars with cockpit views

Not at all.

I find it ridiculous that anyone would not buy GT6 just because the sounds aren't improved. It's not like the souns in GT5 were that bad to begin with plus, GT6 is improving in so many areas, it's crazy to deny that it will be the best GT yet.

I'll gladly buy the best GT ever whether the sounds are better or not. Same goes for AI and visual damage, because those are the only other areas they haven't improved on.

Just in case if any agurments occurs, in GT5 you were kinda forced to use them. :P So I hope in GT6 it'll be better so no one gets forced to use anything. :)

Agreed. I however do understand how it feels that GT hasn't improve on the sounds as of yet, but it really should be a dealbreaker. Like you said, the game is improving in so many areas, it would be hard to say no to it. :)

I feel that GT6 will be much more better and polished than GT5. 👍

The sound isn't the absolute most important thing for me, to be honest. I would rather have all cars made into premiums, than better sounds.

The driving experience is the most important part to me, everything else is just icing on the cake. In my opinion, Gran Turismo offers the best and most accurate driving physics on console and it looks to be even better for GT6. Would I prefer better sounds? Absolutely, but having the same sounds GT5 has (which isn't nearly as bad as many people in this forum would have you believe) isn't even close to being a deal breaker.

I'd I had to choose between
Standard cars
Sounds

The most important to me is...
Car rims.

Standard cars are not an issue. Whatsoever. At all.
Sound... personally I can deal with it. I usually play online and turn the volume down now (mic) so I really don't care.

Yes, I'm not getting GT6 based on this, I find it ridiculous and sad that a AAA developer with unlimited time and money can't even get a single sound sample right, a single one...It's not even about the sounds anymore, it's just another example of how lazy they are.

I'm okay with standard cars appearing again, but it's still a valid complaint if people don't like them. Nothing wrong with wanting all cars to be consistent quality.

As for sounds, they are low on my list of concerns. So I'm buying the game regardless of the quality of them.

I think GT6 will be a fun game regardless of any engine sound improvements. That said, It would be awesome if they were to improve other sounds like tire, turbo, and flywheel sounds so they could be like in some GT5 trailers. The GT86 concept trailer for example, the one that is drifting with a hachi roku.
Those tire squeal sounds are very good in my opinion.

Also in GT5 the flywheel sounds is horrible, it doesn't has that mechanical feel to it, It is more like some whistle.

I can tolerate the bad sounds so I'm getting GT6 regardless of improvement or not.

If only the standard cars can have the rims/mags of the premium cars, then it's a good thing. Aero kits, too, should be available in the standard cars, not only the wing/spoiler.

For a game that sells itself on "giving the player the experience of a car" the fact that the sound is so behind qualitatively and technologically is mind-blowing to me. The sound of the car is such a big part of the experience of the car that I don't understand how it can be removed and still considered providing the experience.

Personally, if the sounds of the cars remain the same as GT5, then GT6 will feel like the best PS1 game ever made.

Any particular reason why you're so up in arms? The standard cars look like they jumped straight out of 2004 and that's a deal breaker for me. I would COMPLETELY forgive this game's unrealistic engine sounds if it wasn't for the standard cars. They're grotesque and detract from the overall experience.

Eh, to me the bad sounds would be a minor annoyance, I'll admit it I'm a sucker for new content, so I probably won't even notice them properly until I'm fairly far through the game, and even then they won't worry me too much. And besides, they'res still a smidgen of hope that they'll be fixed in time for launch.

Neither one of those, if you really follow GT then you should know Kaz has already stated that those are just there as sound effects and they will be updated for the final version.
