So after we going downhill in the death chicane section we go straight instead to the next uphill area? đź’ˇ
Yes, that would be an option.
There would be other choices though.

For example making the left-right->right-left chicane longer (so that they're actually two chicanes). Or maybe, in an extended version of the track, letting us keep the right lane and continue to another section, which would open new possibilities:

Yes, why not? If the track get expanded in that way, of course.

I don't want to speculate too much but I feel that we will get many variations made by opening/closing down circuit sections, and that Special Stages ones will have many of them. Again, I'm just speculating, but the Tokyo-inspired expressway road network of these circuits seems perfect for this.

Well after all the so call "dead chicane" its just some sort of tires barrel, although I got my theories about a SSR11 met Tokyo R246 at night, there its some shown of it and certain areas near the the R246 route are similar to the buildings shown in the trailer,of course I haven't be able to identify the buildings near in the trailer but they are fairly similar to the ones reaching Tokyo's Shibuya district, just where R246 its located,so far no luck but that express way its very similar and several express ways in Tokyo have the same highway barrier layout.

I know that this is sort of mad but it fits in several ways, apart from the fact that I don't know if the SSR11 belongs to the CR5(clubman route 5) which has several similitude in the trailer such as the building at the side of the main starlight,or maybe its just a refurbish version of the of the SCR5 which has some features that we have seen in the latest trailers.

Well what do you think guys?

Personally I think that in designing SSR11/SSR5, Polyphony Digital clearly took insipiration from real roads and expressways in Tokyo to the point that some landmarks might be vaguely recognizable (the ferris wheel, the bridge which looked like a small Yokohama bridge, etc), but they're not exactly located in it.

SSR11 and SSR5/CSR5 are clearly located in the same fictional city. Maybe in GT5, since those tracks will be remade from scratch, this will become clear.

Yes, I think probably it's "just" a refurbirshed/expanded version of the old track and not something which might suggest night racing on real Tokyo expressways.

-> I say we keep the "Death Chicane" only in the SSR11 '90s spec.

-> But on the proposed Special Stage City, they should eliminate the "Death Chicane" for it able to keep a good flow of the longer track:

^ What do you think Akira? :sly:

Run both tracks together as one massive piece??? I seriously hope Kaz had this idea a long time ago and incorporated it into GT5. Running those two together would be fun.

Just the right amount of challenge combined with great cornering and speed.

Wow, nice work Vanishing Boy. I love the idea of these huge variations on the SS circuits. The 90's SSR11 had so much rythm. I'm not sure how it lost it's way, but if we could get that back, I'd be on it night and da/... đź’ˇ night.

:drool:OMG I just creamed my pants:drool:

During the day it would look like Tokyo R246.

While Tokyo R246 at night would look a bit like one of the various Special Stages.

Does the scenery here look familiar by the way?

We seem to be in the same channel,a couple of days ago I was over akihabara area,I had to take a bus and then I found that very near areas around R246 are very similar to the SSR11 visuals.

look form the begining until around 3:00 and you'll get my point,Shinjuku area is really similar to what we have seen on the trailer :

This reminds me of Tokyo Extreme. Like the C1 Route Wangan or something.

I know this is a long shot, but to any of you experts, do these roads look familiar to any of the Special Stage Routes or Clubman Routes in the GT series? Pics were taken from the Qore video, and just for the heck of it, maybe it could be a hint as to where these seemingly fictional tracks came from.

On second note, in the 2nd pic I just posted, in the upper right part of the pic there is a city park or something where all the trees are (the green area), that could be the indide of the R246 track that you basically circle when completing a lap.

Those photos show the last corner of Tokyo R246 (the hairpin before the long straight).
It seems like they were shoot from Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka.

Here's the same view during night:

As I wrote multiple times, the Tokyo night scenery has surely been inspiration for Special Stage R5/11. But these circuits are not located in or near Tokyo.

That's actually pretty much the same view as one of the photos I just posted, ironically. :)

I'm not really seeing it. But the again, lack of sunlight really makes it hard for me to see with this one. I guess I don't really understand what I'm looking at.

Sorry for Necro'ing this thread, but I wanted to know if you can fit Special Stage Route 7

Into the great Special Stage City?

I thought maybe it could go down the middle, where the two u turns meet, but this is pure speculation

P.S. I'm really shocking at photoshop, so I can't do this at all

P.P.S. Since we have this thread in the first place there seemed no need to make a new one.

SSR7 is almost certainly a highway track - if it shares anything with either, its the front straight of Route 5. But the different number implies, to me, that they don't share anything...

SSR11 isn't in the track video that's been posted... but then again, neither is the Nordschleife. Both would make a lot of sense as unlockables, so there's still hope...

We need a new concept for SSCity (R5 > R11 > R7 or R5 > R7 > R11 would be great, though it meant SSCity could become a Nordschleife on city track). ;)

That sir, looks like such an orgasmic track. :sly: If Polyphony ever decided to do that, I'll scream like a girl or something.

And what do you mean it's too long? We have Nurburgring, don't we?
