Is The Xbox One X Too Expensive?

If you don't already have an XB1, I think it'd be an OK purchase.

But considering the fact that the XB exclusives should come to Windows 10, I'd think very hard about just spending an extra $200 for a good gaming PC before I'd commit to the XB1X.

No sir, it is going to be £449. That is the price given by microsoft and what retailers are listing it at. If you find it for less, there has probably been a mistake, if not....let me know and i'll buy it !

That was the price of the playstation back in 1994/95, if you didnt see my catalogue page about it...hehe... With inflation thats like the playstation coming out today at over £800.

Its not that bad. When Super Famicom/SNES first came out more than 25 years ago. Most of the people(myself included)I knew just couldn't afford one at launch.

I will be purchasing it on release. I was so disappointed when i got my ps4 in 2014, i was expecting more. 4k HDR gaming for under £500 is what alot of people want. I think its a reasonable price, which is just aswell because i need to buy a 50''HDR screen to go with it, they're way under £500 aswell.

Limited edition available now.. @Terronium-12 @SlipZtrEm 👍

It isn't too expensive but I feel they would've been better off taking a hit on it.

The issues are all software related. They seem to have given up unlike for example how Sony reacted after the PS3's hilarious launch.

Already sold out at Amazon; still available directly from MS.

That's because Amazon don't take your money upfront unlike some others who put the charge on your card, I suspect they will get a ton of cancellations between now and release.

It's pretty expensive. One of the GameStop pre-orders are 699.99 (USD) and then you have the tax along with that, plus shipping costs. Hate to say it, but I don't know what specific features you get when you pre-order hardware... I have a distastes for that sort of thing, but people will buy it. You could get a nice entrance Gaming PC with that sort of cash. From what I'm seeing there are more controller designs than games at the moment. I like Forza though, and my big bro will give his regular One to me. So I'm fine.

Is it called captive audience or something? They've no need to reduce the price, because they have a monopoly on the legit controllers.

It's why motorway fuel is pricey. Generally speaking.

Anyways, I'd love an XB1X, but two things stop me - having to have two accounts, and that a trade-in on the PS4 is pretty cheap.
Yea, basically they have us by the balls.

I have a bigger gripe since that post though, and that's the price of PSN+ going up again. If you're going to put the price up then do it when the PS5 comes out. I don't agree with the price hike and if I don't want to open my wallet it means many of my purchases are useless to me without PSN+. Low ball move.

Ha i just tried an inflation calculator, for £429 from 1994, it says its over £800 in todays money..
The question is, are they cheap now or were they really expensive back then?

Back then when I bought the PS1 a few months after release, i was in my first full time job after school and earning £80 a week after tax ( around about that )

Yeah, it's all relative eh? Some people think it's pricey, some people don't even notice the price.

PSN going up is fair in terms of inflation, I think, sort of. But yeah, we are all captive in that area, owning a PS4 and wanting to play online, so that situation sucks a bit.

I really want a Xbox1X though, have to say... :)

So what? I paid £169 for my PS1 in '97 Brand new from a dedicated games store with one game of my choice and two controllers.
